Apologies Tony, but due to Matthew crawling up my coast, my responses may or may not come. But just to satisfy the answer, it's the Buccaneers.

Here comes the new question... Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls, or Los Angeles Lakers-- What team became 1981's NBA champions by defeating Houston, 4-2?* You have 24 to PM your buzz-code ONLY... that means you, John.

(Please pardon and forgive the interruption. Due to the hurricane that may very likely affect John, if he becomes temporarily unable to continue due to it, please let me know either John or Tony if you'd like or need for me to pinch hit for John during his absence.)
(John, we are keeping you and yours in thought and prayer. Having been through Hurricane Sandy 4 autumns ago, I can definitely relate to your feelings of anxiety and worry at this time, which I suspect may have been why you most understandably answered prematurely here on this thread rather than having preferably sent a private message to Tony instead.)

The Boston Celtics is correct. [APPLAUSE, DING]You now have $100 and a 7. Do you want to keep the next card or pass it to Michael? Fair warning-- If you pass and his next card is a 10 or face card, he'll win the Blackjack Bonus worth $12,500.

Jennifer... please reveal Kourtney's next card. Jennifer: Kourtney, your next card is a 3. [APPLAUSE]Tony: The challenger now has a total of 10. If his next card is an Ace, he'll win the Any 21 Jackpot worth $5,000. Next question... Henry Oldsmobile, Lee Iacocca, or Joe Suzuki-- What automobile company executive told viewers in 1980's commercials, 'If you can find a better car, buy it'?

[TIME UP BUZZER]Time's up... and Kourtney gets a strike one penalty. If you don't send in a buzz-code within 24 hours, you will receive a strike. Miss two more deadlines and a new contestant will replace you. Michael, do you have an answer?

[SYNTH BUZZER]The correct answer was Lee Iacocca. Since Kourtney have missed the 24 hour deadline, we can't award him the hundred bucks. Instead, we'll go to a new question. Albert Finney, Peter Ustinov, or David Suchet-- Who played Hercule Poirot in Murder on the Orient Express?

If your next card is either a 10 or face card, you'll win $12,500. Jennifer, please reveal Michael's next card. Jennifer: Michael... your next card is-- *slowly reveals card* --a 5. [AUDIENCE GROANS]Tony: And Michael's chance at winning the Blackjack Bonus is out of play as well. The good news is that the Blackjack Bonus we'll return in our second round. Right now, let's focus on winning the $5,000 Any 21 Jackpot. Next question... Linda Lovelace, Marilyn Chambers, or Sidney Biddle Barrows-- 1984's Mayflower Madam, she has written a book on how to keep your husband at home. Who is she?

Before we reveal the card, I forgot to ask you a question. Do you want to continue or freeze on your 16?

I'll freeze.

Post by tmann3x on Oct 14, 2016 22:10:43 GMT -5
Jennifer will now place the freeze marker on your 16. Kourtney... if your next card is at least a 6, you'll win the first round and an additional $500. If it's an Ace, you'll win the $5,000 Any 21 Jackpot. Jennifer, please reveal Kourtney's next card. *Jennifer reveals card* Jennifer: Kourtney's next card is a 3. [AUDIENCE GROANS, APPLAUSE]Tony: You need a 4 to win the first round. Now that Michael has frozen on his 16, it's all up to you in order to win round 1. You must answer each and every question right to stay in the game. If at any time your answer is incorrect, Michael wins the round and an additional $500. Here comes your next question... Grand Hotel, The Broadway Melody, or Wings-- What flick won the first Best Picture Oscar in 1928?

Kourtney... ...it was Wings. Michael wins the round and $500! [WINNING BELL SOUNDS, WIN CUE, CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]And at the end of round 1, our champion Michael has $900 while Kourtney has only $100. And coming up after the break, we'll be playing our second round as the pot rises once again and we'll see if Kourtney capitalizes and get either a 21 or a blackjack for a tie game. We'll have that answer still to come when Gambit returns... after this. Stay tuned, folks... you don't want to miss it.
