A new episode of Crag: The Numbers Game is about to commence.
Some notes...
\ After another close call winning the million, Lenny Jackson returns with two match win and $117,100
\ The bonus for winning five straight matches is currently an Aston Martin Vantage GT with a gas card loaded with $150,000.
Now it's time for qualifying. The player closest to the right answer, high or low, gets to play.
Before the show, a member of our Crag staff rolled three money dice based on the currency from the "Cowboy Bebop" and "Space Dandy" anime franchises. The numbers 1 through 6 were replaced with, respectively, 25 Woolongs, 50 Woolongs, 75 Woolongs, 100 Woolongs, 150 Woolongs and 200 Woolongs. What is the sum of the single roll of the three dice? Please respond in increments of 25 Woolongs and make sure your answer is higher than 50 Woolongs and lower than 625 Woolongs.
This game operates on 24-hour deadlines. Please PM me your answer in 24 hours from now. Please also indicate you're trying to qualify for Crag.

All right, let's see how the roll turned out. 75, 100 and 200 add up to 375 Woolongs in anyone's language. (ding)And who's the closest? 475 mastercards56Ian Laudato's gonna try to start his road to riches -- after stations ID themselves. Staff announcer: The spirit of Arlen on Channel 84. Doug: (in pre-recorded audio) Our current champion, Lenny Jackson, has won two matches and $117,100 in cash. If he wins $5000 in today's match, he could win $1,000,000 -- and he will be one step closer to winning a new car and a $150,000 gas card on......Crag: The Numbers Game. (audience cheers)Helloooo, everybody, I'm Doug Morris and welcome back to Crag: The Numbers Game -- where 13 can be your lucky number. Let's go right ahead and meet our players. Our challenger is Ian Laudato -- and our champion with two wins and $117,100 in cash, Lenny Jackson. (audience cheers)Lenny, I've got to ask this. You've won more than $117,000 on our show. Well you've had two tries at Super Crag. Do you think the third time will be the charm where you'll win the million?

Well -- we have no poker dice here. But you can make straights and trips in this game. We'll talk about that later. Again, good luck, Ian and Lenny. Here's how we play Crag: The Numbers Game. Much like the regular dice game of Crag, our game is all about numbers -- particularly the numbers you can roll on dice. The right answer to each question on our show is a number between 1 and 6 inclusive. Sometimes, we'll ask for the Roman numeral or ordinal equivalent of one of those numbers. And there are also missing digit questions to watch for. I'll explain how they work later. (ding)With just the one question mark on the board, we're starting off with a single digit question. Hands on the hickeys, please. (scattered laughter from the crowd) Hey, we are in the Bill Cullen Studio. Why not? Annnnnd away we go. Single digit question: In the classic Disney movie "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", how many of the dwarfs have names that end in the letter "y"? 04 redrangerdude 45 mastercards56 13 randomizer.org(Lenny buzzes in)Lenny?

Champ says 5 of the dwarfs have names ending in Y. Is that right? (ding; audience applause)Yes. Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy and Sneezy; the others are Bashful and Doc. Lenny, as you know, with that correct answer, you've earned up to two rolls of the Crag dice. If you like what you come up with on your first roll, take the point value of the combination and we'll proceed to Round 2. If you'd rather reroll, freeze up to two dice and reroll the rest. Player, take a brief look, please, at our big screen -- where we have the different ways you can score a lot of points. There are four different straights in the game of Crag worth 20 points each. The 1-2-3 make up a low straight; 4-5-6 a high straight; 1-3-5 an odd straight and 2-4-6 an even straight. It doesn't matter how they appear on the board. As long as they're all different and they're all low, high, odd or even, you're 20 points to the good. If you roll three of the same number, that's a triple for 25 points. And as we often say around here, 13 *is* a lucky number Crag. If you come up with three numbers that total 13, I'll double the sum for 26. *But* if you have a pair of numbers plus an odd number that total 13, that's a Crag for 50 points. (audience cheers)(rolling sfx)So now you know what's worth what, the dice are now rolling. Lenny, they lock into your buzzer one at a time.
(Lenny, to stop the dice, please respond with three letters from A through F inclusive. You may repeat letters if you think that will help.)

(ding)Stop on a 2. (ding)Stop on a 5. (ding)And stop on another 5. Well -- obviously know one of the combinations worth 20 or more. Lenny, you may take the sum of the dice in points -- 12 in this case -- or you may freeze up to two numbers and reroll the rest.

(scattered cheers) You can tell this isn't Lenny's first rodeo. We'll put the Texas Sunflowers on ice. (freeze sfx)For the rest of the round, those fives will not reroll. Lenny, when that 2 rerolls, stop it when you feel lucky. (rolling sfx)Let's see if you get a triple or a Crag. (ding) (audience cheers)Third 5. That's a triple for 25 points. Remember, there are two ways to win a game -- be the first to score at least 100 points -- or come closer to 100 after we've played ten rounds. Winner of each game scores $2500 -- with $500 going to the runner-up. And don't forget we award ten crisp new $100 bills to the first player in the match to roll a Crag. Pile up $5000 and you're going to win the match. Time for Round 2 and time to celebrate a birthday a little early in this round of The Price *WAS* Right. (TNPiR 94 stinger; audience cheers)Yes as we tape this episode, Olivia Newton-John is about to turn 68. (audience cheers) And with that -- if you'll pardon me one moment -- as I wish I reached for one of her albums. They're all at home... (Doug reach for a placard behind his podium) ...yeah -- instead -- this is the *other* portion of this round. This image of a 25-cent piece is actually a prop from one of our audience games. Now to tie it all together, here's your question. In her hit song "Please Mr. Please", released in 1975, Olivia Newton-John sings of a jukebox that stands in a corner of a bar. According to the lyrics of the song, a quarter will buy you how many of your selections from the jukebox? 83 redrangerdude 36 mastercards56 17 randomizer.org(Ian buzzes in)

Ian say 25 cents would buy 5 of your selections. Per the ONJ back in the day, is that right? (ding; audience applause)Yes. Nowadays, 25 cents buys you about the first verse of Olivia's recent duet with her daughter Chloe. (scattered laughter) (rolling sfx)All right, Ian, your first roll of the dice. (ding)Stop on a 6. (ding)Stop on a 2. (ding) (scattered cheers) And stop on a 5. Three different numbers adding up to 13 -- means we'll double that to 26 points if you end the round here, Ian. You'd lead by 1 point if you do stop.

Taste of irony. Olivia's birthday is on September 26 and.. After Round 2: redrangerdude mastercards56...Ian picks up 26 points on an Olivia question. Time for Round 3 and a missing digit question. We'll play a practice one first. (ding)Ah -- this is the year Olivia Newton-John was born. All you have to do is chime in and tell me the missing digit -- which, of course, is... (ding)...a 1. Now on to the intended question for Round 3. Missing digit question: I'll show you the year in which former President Jimmy Carter won the Nobel Peace Prize -- and you tell me the missing digit. Okay, the champ says the last digit in the year is 2. Is that right? (ding; audience applause)Yes. Quick story if I may. Given the time difference, word of President Carter's win came early in the morning here in the U.S. CNN, mainly based in Atlanta, called President Carter, also based in the ATL, to congratulate him and interview him. (rolling sfx)Lenny, you'll reclaim the lead for sure. How big? Let's see as you stop the dice.

(time passes) (buzz buzz)No answer in time from Ian. Lenny, this means you get a chance to steal. Our Crag dice will offer the right answer and two wrong answers. It's up to you to pick the correct answer. (ding)Again the question, not counting Jimmy Carter, how many different former U.S. Presidents have the first name James? Lenny, is the right answer 4, 5 or 6?
