*back to studio* [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Welcome back to Card Sharks, everybody. At the end of round 1, our challenger Kevin Kolsen has won the game and a $500 in his pocket. Our second Challenger Bill McDee will try his hardest at winning the second round. And before the break, our dealers Jenna & Sammi from "Dish Nation" had placed a new set of five cards for both players. Bill still has a trip to Dallas on his prize column. Round 2 now begins with our first question. *grabs card* Kevin... we've asked 100 Los Angeles Police Department officers-- For $100,000, would you spend a day on patrol without your gun?How many of the officers say they would spend a day on patrol without their gun for $100,000?

I trust these officers have to act fast but I think they'd rather have the extra protection. They're supposed to keep the streets safe. This number will be low so I'd say 20.

[DING]20 out of 100 officers say they would spend a day on patrol without their gun for $100,000. What do you think, Bill... higher or lower?

Even though it's more than 20 years ago, that Rodney King situation still resonates with me.
My wife works with law enforcement officials, and I'd be hard pressed to think many of them would allow themselves to go on patrol without a gun, not for $100,000.
I will say lower than 20, Tony.

[DING]If I were an officer, I wouldn't bet on it even if my life depends on it. Kevin says 20 and Bill says it's lower... the actual number of LAPD officers say they would spend a day on patrol without their gun for $100,000 is-- [DING-DING-DING, APPLAUSE]9. Bill is right... it is lower. Challenger number 2 will be going first in the second round starting with-- --a 2! [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]

And we'll move Bill's freeze bar as he's now two cards away from a tie game and a trip to Dallas. *grabs card* Bill... we've asked 100 female business executives-- Is a man responsible for your success? How many of them say yes... it is a man who is responsible for your success?
|
|
|
Post by billmcdee on Jun 2, 2016 12:46:01 GMT -5
I would tend to think that would be a rather low number. While female are deemed by society as the "weaker" sex, they are the ones who bear and deliver the children. Also, the phrase is "Behind every great man there is a great woman."
I'm thinking it would be a relatively low number, 14.

[DING]14 out of 100 say a man responsible for a woman's success. What do you think of that answer, Kevin... higher or lower?
|
|
|
Post by koopakid17 on Jun 2, 2016 19:47:26 GMT -5
I believe women are apt to credit anyone who leads them to success, whether it be another woman or either a man. However, it's usually every woman for herself in the business world. I think it has to be a little higher.

[DING]Bill says 14 and Kevin says it's higher... The actual number of female business executives say a man is responsible for a woman's success is-- [CLASS BELL RINGS, CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]14... on the nose! And since Bill got that answer exactly, here comes the ten $100 bills. Count with me, folks... [DINGS, DING-DING-DING, CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]100... 200... 300... 400... 5... 6... 7... 8... 9... $1,000! Bill... you have a 7 as your base card. Play or change it?

Based on all that I've seen already, 21 cards would be lower, 17 would be higher, and 2 would be the same...
therefore, going with those odds, I'll predict the next card to be lower than that 9 Tony.

Is it lower than that 9...? [DING-DING-DING, APPLAUSE]Nope, but it's a Home Gym! If you win this round, Bill, you'll win both prizes and a tie game. Sammi will now place the Home Gym in your prize column while Jenna hands me a replacement card. Do you still want to call on your 9 lower...?

If it's higher, not only we'll have a tie game... but you'll also win a trip to Dallas and a Home Gym. Higher than a 3...? Yes... and we have a tie game! [WINNING BELL SOUNDS, WIN CUE 1, CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Bill... not only you've tied up the game including the 500 in cash, you have also won two prizes. George...?

[MATCH GAME/HOLLYWOOD SQUARES HOUR THEME (COMMERCIAL CUE) PLAYS]George Gray: Congratulations, Bill... you have won a home gym and a trip to Dallas![CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]First... from Bodycraft, it's the Galena Pro Home Gym! And finally... a trip to Dallas![MORE CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]You and your guest will fly round trip coach from Los Angeles to Dallas, Texas for a six night stay in a fantastic suite at the W Dallas Hotel. Your room features a Skyline View of Dallas, HDTV with DVD player, high speed internet access, and just steps away from all the day and nightlife of this classic city. And in addition to the $500 in cash that you've won... this package is worth in cash and prizes-- $7,999. Congratulations, Bill![CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Tony: Both Kevin and Bill are tied at one game all. And this time, Jenna & Sammi will place three cards for both players. *grabs card* The final round means it's time to play a one-question... Sudden Death match. Someone will have to win it on this final play of the cards. Kevin... we've asked 100 children in a family with 10 or more members-- Have you ever missed out on dessert because you didn't eat fast enough? How many of them say they have missed out on dessert?

That does sound like a huge problem if you're in a big family. I can't relate that well enough since I grew up with three other siblings. I think the first come first serve aspect applies here. I'm going to say 65 children.

|

[DING]65 out of 100 say they have missed out on dessert since they didn't eat fast enough. What do you think, Bill... higher or lower?
|
|
|
Post by billmcdee on Jun 4, 2016 15:25:42 GMT -5
I suspect that will be lower. Access to the bathroom is one thing, but when it comes to food, families that are that large more often than not tend to make sure everybody gets their just desserts, even if they do eat slowly. And odds are in a family that large, with a lot of chatting at the table, they all probably eat slowly anyway, so I'll definitely say lower.

|
Post by tmann3x on Jun 4, 2016 17:38:30 GMT -5
[DING]This question will be decided. Kevin says 65 and Bill says it's lower... The actual number of children say they have missed out on dessert since they didn't eat fast enough is-- [DING-DING-DING, APPLAUSE]60. Bill is correct... it is lower. Bill... before you make a move, I'm gonna turn over both base cards. You have an 8 while Kevin has a 9. You have the right to change your 8 since you've won Sudden Death. However... if you pass it to Kevin, he must play on his 9. Choose wisely... play or pass?
