Higher!

For the win, is it higher than a 4? Show it to us, Amber!
(3 ⋄)
buzz!
No, it's a 3, so koopakid17 must play his 8 right away. Is the next card higher or lower?

Is it higher than a 3?
(2 ♠)
buzz!
No, that's not it either. So we have to reload the cards for both mringgenberg and koopakid17. Seems that no one wants to win this first round. Well, we'll see who comes out on top after this next question. mringgenberg, we asked 100 people the following question:
"The San Francisco Giants have won the last three World Series in even-numbered years. Will they do it again in 2016?"
How many of those people said yes?

77

mringgenberg says 77.
ding!
koopakid17, do you think that the actual number is higher or lower?
Post by koopakid17 on Mar 22, 2016 11:30:58 GMT -5
They had the teams that could do it in those years. I don't think 2016 will be their year so it has to be lower.
Post by Bill Skinner on Mar 22, 2016 12:02:30 GMT -5
And koopakid17 says it's lower.
ding!
The actual number of people who said yes is...
ding-ding-ding!
...67, so it is lower, and koopakid17 will get a first crack at the win. Now what's his new base card, Amber?
(8 ♠)
An 8! Either you can change it or play it now. What's your choice?

Change it!

Post by Bill Skinner on Mar 23, 2016 9:35:40 GMT -5
What does the 8 become?
(3 ♥)
A 3! Is the next card higher or lower?

Higher!

Higher than a 3?
(Q ♣)
ding!
Yes, and now you're one card away from taking the first round. So what's your decision on that?
Post by koopakid17 on Mar 23, 2016 12:03:57 GMT -5
Lower!
Post by Bill Skinner on Mar 23, 2016 12:16:45 GMT -5
As long as it's not an Ace, a King or another Queen, you'll win the first round. What's the next card?
(9 ♥)
ding-ding-ding!
(1978 CS Win Cue)
It's a 9, and you win this marathon first round and $1,000. But the goal is two out of three, so mringgenberg can still come back to win. (1978 CS Theme) When we return, we'll have the second round ready to go, with two new sets of cards to play. What will happen then? You'll have to stay tuned after these messages.

Welcome back to an intense game of Card Sharks, and we're ready to start Round 2. The first question goes to the challenger, koopakid17. We asked 100 people this question:
"This year, Easter will fall in March. Do you like the holiday better in March or in April?"
How many of those people preferred Easter in April?
Post by koopakid17 on Mar 23, 2016 19:34:29 GMT -5
If it were up to me, I'd do away with the way they decide Easter on the moon and just have it on the first Sunday of April. March is just too early and I think people agree with that. I'll say 70.
Post by mringgenberg on Mar 23, 2016 20:01:36 GMT -5
It's a little lower.
Post by Bill Skinner on Mar 24, 2016 9:25:48 GMT -5
So koopakid17 says 70...
ding!
...and mringgenberg thinks it's lower.
ding!
The actual number of people who preferred Easter in April is...
ding-ding-ding!
...77, so it's not lower, and koopakid17 will play his cards first. Let's see what the base card is, Amber.
(J ♥)
It is a Jack! Now would you like to play that card or change it?
Post by koopakid17 on Mar 24, 2016 11:39:50 GMT -5
I'll change the Jack.
Post by Bill Skinner on Mar 24, 2016 11:51:00 GMT -5
Alright, we'll change the Jack to...
(8 ♥)
...an 8! Is the next card higher or lower?

Higher.

Interesting that you're going higher on an 8. Personally, I would've said lower, but I'm the host, and I have no say in the matter. Now, is it higher than an 8?
(K ♣)
ding!
Yes, your risk paid off beautifully! What's your decision here: Do you continue on, or will you freeze?
Post by koopakid17 on Mar 24, 2016 12:15:03 GMT -5
Lower!
Post by Bill Skinner on Mar 24, 2016 12:51:42 GMT -5
Lower than a King, Tiffany?
(6 ♣)
ding!
Yes, a 6! Two cards away from a sweep, and the same options apply. Continue or freeze?
Post by koopakid17 on Mar 24, 2016 18:44:08 GMT -5
Gotta freeze!
Post by Bill Skinner on Mar 25, 2016 10:44:17 GMT -5
And we freeze at the 6. Now mringgenberg, the next question goes to you. We asked 100 people the following:
"LeBron James recently said that he would like to play on the same team as Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul. Will he ever be able to pull this off?"
How many of those people said no?
Post by mringgenberg on Mar 25, 2016 10:53:58 GMT -5
48
Post by Bill Skinner on Mar 25, 2016 13:02:51 GMT -5
mringgenberg said 48.
ding!
koopakid17, is the actual number higher or lower than 48?
Post by koopakid17 on Mar 25, 2016 17:51:20 GMT -5
That's wishful thinking. He needs to get his head out of his behind. I highly doubt Carmelo Anthony would ever team up with the likes of him. It has to be much higher.

koopakid17 says higher.
ding!
And the actual number of people who said no is...
ding-ding-ding!
...57, so it is higher, and koopakid17 will start from the 6 he froze at earlier. What would you like to do with that card: Change it or play it?
