Don't be embarrassed...just answer this question. Boo, Bowser, or Wario: which "Super Mario Brothers" character is known for its bashfulness when Mario faces him? Boo (applause) Boo who? Leslie: Don't cry. It's just a game.Hopefully there will be no reason to boo-hoo or boo the card. Let's see it.
It's a jack. Keep it, and you'll have 12, or you can exchange it with the Top Card. Your call...

Here are the hand totals as of now. You must get a nine or a combination of 9 within the next three turns. Seven, Doc, and Sneezy are left. Which one looks good?

Just voicing my concern as we've not heard from Joe in a couple of weeks.
Joe, if you see this, I'm sending my best wishes out to you and hoping all is well!

Seven it is... How lucky will you be when you answer this? Seven raised to the second power equals what? 49. (Applause) You know your math! Well, you also know that 12 plus 9 is 21, contrary to a popular YouTube video. (audience titters) For the win, is there a nine?!?
(Groans)
It's a three. You can go up to 15, or take the top card. You have three fortnights to decide. (Audience laughter)

What we don't to see is a 10 or a face card. Anything else, and the game continues. Leslie, what do you have? Leslie: Sorry, Darion. (NBC Klaxon Horn)Me: That's 22, and bust. Billy, you won it! (Applause, theme starts). Darion, you will not be leaving empty-handed. You accumulated over $9000 in cash and prizes. I hope you had a nice time; any final words?

Me: Well said. It will be Kourtney and Billy in the championship round when we return in (Chuck Woolery hand gesture) 2 and 2.
Leslie: I hope that's not 2 weeks and 2 days.
Sophie: Me either.
Tommy: Closed Captioning and other considerations for Top Card provided by:

During the Break.....
While we wait on Billy to respond to his questions, let's do an audience participation game! Rules are simple. You will have 4 chances to build a hand of 21. You can choose to take the card you pick off the board, or take the top card instead. You will earn $10 a point, but get 21 in any way, you will win $500. Careful! If you go over 21, you win nothing. You may stop and take your earnings at any time you think you may go over.
I need one player. Who's in?

I'll be glad to do it. Also will be glad to sit in for Billy. He was part of my "Price is Right" show but he failed to show up to spin the wheel so I ended up having to disqualify him unfortunately.
Looks like he was last on here 6 days ago according to his profile :-\

Me: Tommy has our first audience participant. Who is it?
Tommy: It's Bill McDee! (applause)
Me: Come on over here! Tell us a little about yourself.

I am sure your wife and son are cheering you on. (applause) Good luck, Bill! The object is to get as close to 21 without busting. You will have up to four cards in play. Choose any card you wish. You have the choice to keep it or exchange it for the top card on Leslie's deck. You will win $10 a point, but get 21 or blackjack, you will win $500. Couple of things to keep in mind. There no Jokers up on the board or in Leslie's deck, so the only way to lose is to go over 21. Also, you may stop at any point and keep your winnings. Having that said, choose a card, please.

No dragons either. Though I do have tic tacs, but no dough. Leslie: You slay me with your cheesy puns.Me: Eh, I can't brag. I'm no Gouda. Anyway, what is Bill's first card? A TEN! (Applause) I gotta ask anyway according to S & P. Keep the 10 or take the top card?

(Applause) We all hope it's an ace. For $500, is it an ace? No, but it is a Jack. You can keep it and go up to $200, or exchange it for the top card. What's your pleasure?

(Applause) I probably would do the same thing. Sophie has two crisp new $100 bills for you. Sophie: Careful, I just printed them. (Audience laughs)For those playing at home, here's what the board looks like:
The ace was behind #6. However, $200 is not bad for a couple minutes' of fun. Thanks for playing, Bill McDee! (Shakes your hand)
Let's shuffle the board cards. Okay, who's next?

I don't know when, or even if, Billy is coming back. I had him as a "Price" contestant and he never showed up for the Showcase Showdown.
If you need me to substitute for him so you can continue this episode, just say the word, and let me know what you need me to do.
Thanks, Bill

Hi Bill and all others:
I will let you proxy so we can get on with it. My apologies to Kourtney, who I know has been patiently waiting. Bill, I'm sending you the questions.
Leslie: It's about $%@#ing time!
Sophie: Uh, we're rolling.
Leslie: #sorrynotsorry

(Cold Open) Ladies and Gentlemen, a situation has happened during the commercial break involving our contestant Billy. He is unable to complete the game, and we hope that he is okay. As a goodwill gesture, we will invite him back on a future show. Standing in as proxy is Bill McDee. Let's welcome him to the show. (applause) As it stands now, we are going to start the Champions(CUCKOO BIRD), er I mean Championship (audience lols)... (shakes his head in disgust) Heaven, help me. Championship round. Whoever wins the tossup has the advantage of choosing their dealer as well as the first category. Both Leslie with the red cards and Sophie with the blue cards will deal this round. This question is an educated guess. Contestants, using your keypads in front of you, enter your guess. How many spaces are there on a standard Scrabble game board? (DING!) Okay, answers have been locked in. Let's see what you have. BILL: 225 KOURTNEY: 470 The correct answer is 225! (Applause) Bill, for hitting it on the nose, you win a $500 cash bonus yours to keep regardless of the outcome of the game. (Walks over to his podium) Here are five crisp Benjamins--- (Lays them Bill's hand, one at a time) (Audience joins in) ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! FIVE! (Applause) (I walk back to my lectern.) You have two important choices. Do you want Sophie or Leslie to deal your top cards? Whoever you do not pick will be dealing for Kourtney. Also, here are the categories for this round.

As a fan of M*A*S*H and Colonel Potter, I'll have Sophie be my dealer.
And the category I'll take is "Eight is Enough".

Sophie will be dealing for Bill, and Leslie will deal for Kourtney. Good luck gentlemen. The category Bill chose was "Eight is Enough", as in eight zings is enough, Leslie. (Audience reacts to the burn.) Hands on plungers. Which polygon has eight sides? BUZZCODE: 30 B: 88 K: 39 (DING!) Kourtney chimes in. Octagon (applause)
Yes, sir, that's the polygon. We'll see if this card is enough for you to keep...
(Applause and cheers) IT'S A KING! What's your pleasure, take the King, or take Leslie's top card?
