We're about to start a potentially pivotal episode of Crag: The Numbers Game.
John Lopez is our returning champion with three wins and $96,000 in cash winnings. He needs to win this and the next episode to win a new car and a gas card, currently worth $200,000.
Want to challenge him? Of course, we respectfully ask the opponents who John defeated to sit this one out. So if you think you have what it takes to stop his winning ways and start a winning streak yourself, here's the qualifying question. Closest to the right answer, high or low, plays against John. The question...
Before the show, a member of our Crag staff rolled three money dice based on the currency from the anime series "Space Dandy". The numbers 1 through 6 were replaced with, respectively, 25 woolongs, 50 woolongs, 75 woolongs, 100 woolongs, 150 woolongs and 200 woolongs. What is the sum of the single roll of the three dice? Please respond in increments of 25 woolongs; please make sure your answer is higher than 50 woolongs and lower than 625 woolongs.
This game operates on 24-hour deadlines. So please PM me your answer in 24 hours from now.

Thanks, John.
Still seeking an opponent. We'll bypass the qualifying round. First one to respond to this post who hasn't lost to John Lopez gets to play.

[NOTE TO BOTH PLAYERS FROM DOUG: Please PM me ten buzz codes from 1-100 -- one for each of the toss-up questions in Game 1. Away we go after the station identification.]
Staff announcer: This is Field Communications in the Delaware Valley -- WKBS 48. (opening theme plays; camera slowly zooms in on champ as Doug, in pre-recorded audio, introduces champ)This is our current champion, John Lopez of Titusville, Florida. To date, he has won three matches and amassed a total of $96,000 in cold hard cash. Today, he could move one step closer to winning a brand new car and a gas card worth $200,000 on... ...Crag: The Numbers Game. (audience cheers)Helloooo, everybody, I'm Doug Morris and welcome to the show where 13 can be your lucky number -- and a lucky roll of the dice can make you an instant millionaire. That million dollar roll came *one* roll too late in the Super Crag the last time out. But you can't feel bad for a guy who finally conquered said bonus round to the tune of more than $60,000. Once again, please make welcome John Lopez... (audience cheers)...and keep that applause going for his challenger, Darion Daniel. (audience cheers)When John first stepped on this stage, he told us his friends back home consider him a walking trivia machine. Three matches and $96,000 later, their take has proven accurate. John, please remind us what you do back in Titusville.

Well, John, let's see if you can keep your streak going. Please let me remind you what's at stake. If you win today's match, you'll have more than $100,000 in cash winnings, you'll play the Super Crag for that elusive $1,000,000 payoff and you'll be one match away from winning a new Toyota automobile -- and a gas card currently worth $200,000.
Darion over here wants to break your winning streak. Darion, please tell us about yourself.

Well, we'll see if you can write about how you won big on Crag, today. John and Darion, good luck to you both. Much like the regular dice game of Crag, our game is all about numbers -- particularly the numbers you can roll on dice. The right answer to each question on our show is a number between 1 and 6 inclusive. Sometimes, we'll ask for the Roman numeral or ordinal equivalent of one of those numbers. And there are also missing digit questions to watch for. I'll explain how they work later. (ding)One question mark pops up on the board. It represents the right answer to this single digit question. And this Round 1 question is about the human body. Single digit question: The human heart has how many chambers? 17 john1987248 01 blackwoodcompany 68 randomizer.org (John buzzes in)John?

John says the heart has 4 chambers. Is that right? (ding; audience applause)That's it. Good job, John. First two rolls of the match go to you. Champ, I know you're familiar with this table of contents over here... ...for those who are not, there are four different straights worth 20 points each in Crag. The numbers 1-2-3 make a low straight; 4-5-6 a high straight; 1-3-5 an odd straight and 2-4-6 an even straight. Order of the numbers doesn't matter -- just as long as they're all different and they're all low, high, odd or even. Anytime you roll three of the same number, that's a triple for 25 points. And as always, 13 is a lucky number in Crag. Anytime the dice total 13, we'll double the sum for 26 points. *But* if you have a pair of numbers and an odd number total 13 on the board, that's a Crag -- and it's worth 50 big points. (rolling sfx)And there go the dice, John. Stop 'em one at a time with your buzzer. (ding)Starting with a 5. (ding)There's a 2. (ding)And ending this roll with a 5. You're close to that lucky 13, John. You may end the round here and take the sum of the dice in points -- 12 in this case -- or freeze as many as two of the dice and reroll the rest.

(time passes) (buzz buzz)No answer in time. John, chance to steal. The Crag dice are offering the right answer and two wrong answers. It's up to you to pick the right answer. Question again... Lyle Lovett has how many degrees from Texas A&M university?

John says Lyle has 2 degrees from A&M. Is that right? (ding; audience applause)Yes. The singer-songwriter graduated with degrees in German and journalism. I'm guessing aspirations to anchor the evening news from Berlin didn't work out. (scattered laughter from the crowd) (rolling sfx)John, your dice again. (ding)Stop on a 6. (ding)There's a 4. (ding) (scattered cheers) And there's a 5 for a high straight. John, that's 20 points if you end the round here.

Takin' the 20. And with that... ...John has an early 36-point lead. Darion, let's see if your luck changes with a missing digit question. Before we play the intended question, we'll play a sample query. (ding)On our board, we have the second lowest amount of money on "The Price is Right's" Plinko board. All you have to do is buzz in and tell us the missing digit. And the missing digit is, of course... (ding)...who said 5? (scattered laughter from the crowd) No, it's 1 for $100. The lowest amount is $0. Okay, with that out of the way, let's play the real question for Round 3. Missing digit question: There are more than 200 ways to make change for a dollar. I'll show you the exact number of ways -- and you tell me the missing digit.(ding)28 john1987248 10 blackwoodcompany 36 randomizer.org(John buzzes in)John?

(scattered groans from the crowd) Oh, they wanted you to go for Crag. Apparently, you want to be assured of more than 11 points. (freeze sfx) (rolling sfx)A 2 or 4 would be most helpful to you. (ding) (scattered cheers) But you get a 5 instead. Total of 16 points that round. John with 52. Darion yet to score. Get ready to match wits with a question about a music superstar. Let's fill in the blank. (MG'7x stinger) (scattered cheers) And here comes your Round 4 question. We're about to show you the title of a hit song by Bob Dylan. When Earl slides it open, tell us the digit that's missing in the title.(ding)09 john1987248 13 blackwoodcompany 01 randomizer.org(John buzzes in)John?

John says there should be a 5 on the end. Is the title "Rainy Day Women #12 & 35"? (ding; audience applause)That it. Well, John, you have more than 50 points -- and a Crag would give you the game for $2500 plus another $1000 for the first Crag of the night. Darion, all I can tell you is cross your fingers. Here come the dice. (rolling sfx)And the stops come from you, John. (ding)There's a 3. (ding)Stop on another 3. (ding) (scattered cheers) And stop on third 3 for a 25-point triple. Well, John, if you stop here, you'd have a total of 77 points.
