Darion says the last digit in the year is a 4. If he says right, he'll roll the dice. If not, John, there'd be no way you can lose and you'd clinch the match. Did Shakespeare write "The Taming of the Shrew" in 1594? (buzz) (audience groans)No. You missed it by one -- 1593. John, you've won it again. (dings; audience applause)John leads by more than 50 points and, thus, the game ends here. John, stand by, we'll take you to the winner's board shortly. Darion, you ran into a buzzsaw today. I tell ya what we're going to do. We ran into a couple of technical hiccups in this match. They didn't affect the outcome. But I still want to you to benefit. Folks, since we didn't give bonus money away in this match, please put an extra $500 in his podium. You already have $500 for each runner-up result plus $500 extra. Total of $1500. Please take that money along with our thanks -- and all this applause. (audience applause)Well, John, you're now officially on the eve of a match where you could win a new car and more than $200,000 on a gas card. But let's concentrate on the here and now. It starts by trying to find $5000 on the winner's board. Which letter has it?

(scattered laughter from the crowd) As my favorite teammate would say, "Get your minds out of the gutter. (more laughter from the crowd) Behing the G, we find... (dings; audience applause)...$2500. Now -- a lot of you have asked why we don't show the location of the $5000 prize when it goes unclaimed. We'll do that from this moment forward -- starting now -- by asking -- where is that $5000 payoff? (ding)Other end of the board -- the C. John, as we noted earlier, if you won this match, your total winnings would be in six figures going into Super Crag. As we crunch the numbers... (audience cheers) ...indeed -- you've cracked the 100-grand barrier. Total winnings of $103,500. When we come back, John will be at a familiar place -- the Super Crag. Stay with us. (WGYN theme plays; audience applauds)

And we're back. We have some time to spare, believe it or not, after another strong performance by our champ. And we'll play an audience game after John tries the Super Crag. (audience cheers)Meantime, John, please welcome Jess, today's dice girl. She has the Super Crag dice cup. Included therein -- the Super Crag dice. Since you won $2500 from the winner's board... (ding)... we seed the pot with a different $2500. On every roll, you roll all three dice -- and if it's a safe roll, you'll win more money based on the roll's value in hundreds of dollars. All the 20-point straights are worth $2000 each, the triples $2500 each, 13 in any combination pays $2600 -- *BUT* if that combination of 13 has a pair of a particular number in it, that's a Crag for $5000. (audience cheers)(rolling sfx)Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to build that pot to at least $10,000. End up with more than $10,000 -- and you win tonight's super bonus *of*.... (dings; audience cheers)...$40,000. However, if you can build that pot up to *exactly* $10,000, you win the mega bonus -- of $1,000,000. (audience cheers)As you know from previous trips to Super Crag, John... ...there's that (scattered groans and boos) Should that gremlin come up on any roll, you lose everything in the pot and the game is over. So after a safe roll, you get a chance to stop. In fact, I'll let you stop right now, let you take that $2500 and we'll see you tomorrow as you play for the car. Or you may risk that $2500 and roll the dice. What's your pleasure? (audience shouts suggestions) (John, if you want to play, please respond with "I'll go for it" or something to that effect and a number from 1-100. Remember, you'll see the result of that roll from list of 100 dice rolls from randomizer.org. The longer you want to play and succeed in avoiding the gremlin, we go further down the list from that starting point. If we reach the 100th roll in the list and you're still in business, we'll go to the first roll in the list and proceed.
For the rest of the universe looking in, since I'm coming back from vacation and John's playing against the house, there's no deadline pressure in this bonus round.)

(audience cheers)Great band -- and great idea. John, a triple and a Crag, not necessarily in that order, make you a millionaire. Best of luck as Jess hands you the dice. Good luck -- and roll 'em. (John shakes up bucket; pours dice down ramp) (scattered applause) And -- starting off with an 11-point roll for $1100. Stop here and I'll give you $3600 -- or you can risk it all on your second roll. (audience shouts suggestions)

(scattered cheers) Taking that second roll. A 14-pointer would be nice. Good luck. (John shakes up bucket; pours dice down ramp) (more scattered cheers) Got a dozen points instead. Up to $4800. John, slight dose of bad news. A Crag will make it mathematically impossible to hit ten grand on the nose. But there's good news; a couple of consecutive non-Crag thirteens at $2600 each will do the trick. What'cha think? Take the $4800 and run -- or gamble it all away on your third roll? (audience shouts suggestions)

(scattered cheers) All right. Third roll. We want it to be a non-Crag 13. Good luck and roll 'em (John shakes up bucket; pours dice down ramp) (audience groans; wonk wonk wonk wonk)Argh! That thing again! John, save for the last show, the Super Crag has not been your friend. (picks up cube with the gremlin) Would you like to drop-kick this off stage? (wild cheers from the crowd)

Drop-kicked just about as good as Doug Flutie. Can't give you extra credit for that, John. But we can give you the money you earned today. $5000 from the match plus $2500 from the winner's board. Those payoffs join your earlier winnings for a total of $103,500. (audience cheers)John, as you know, the next show is a crucial one. If you can defeat your next opponent, that's five straight wins. You'll retire undefeated and win that new Toyota automobile and a gas card which will be worth $225,000. I wish you good luck. I know the folks back in Titusville will be rooting like crazy for you. After the break, we're going to root for a lucky member of the audience. We'll play an audience game -- after this. (WGYN theme plays; audience applauds)

Crag is now seeking an audience game player.
Since I'm still playing some post-vacay catch-up, we'll bypass qualifying. First netizen to reply to this post gets to play.
Who's in?

Welcome back to Crag: The Numbers Game. We've got time to spare and we'll spare that time playing Odd or Even with our audience game player, Hunter Dillon. (audience cheers) Hunter, please tell us about yourself.

Well I just turned 21 not too long ago, I'm a huge game show fan and game show home game collector. I hope to someday become a game show host myself, and just yesterday, I acquired the home version of another game show that involves dice for my collection, High Rollers.

Well, happy belated birthday. We've got to get you a copy of Crag: The Video Game to add to your collection. Hunter, best of luck to you as we play Odd or Even. We have two prizes in play -- only one of which you can win. We have an odd prize and an even better prize in play. And Jess is bringing out the odd prize -- oh -- dear. (scattered laughter from the crowd) It's -- the 9 of Diamonds -- a playing card from a deck from Crag's old sister show, Net Poker. This is just like "Figure it Out" giving away props from other Nick game shows, right? (more scattered laughter from the crowd) No answer from my team. Well, that's the odd prize. The even better prize happens to be around Jess's neck. Jess, please tell Hunter about it. (prize music plays)Jess: Hunter, the lady in your life will love you for this diamond necklace. (audience applause) This necklace comes with a pear-shaped emerald surrounded by sparkling diamonds. This is yours with a gift card from Service Merchandise worth -- $4000. (audience applause)Thanks, Jess. Now that you know what you could win, here's how we play Odd or Even. As a child of four can plainly see, the word "odd" has three letters -- and the word "even" has four letters. We're now going to lose those letters. (letters flip over a la the old "Three on a Match" set-up for the big match) And here's how you get some of the letters back -- by rolling our Super Crag dice. This time, there's no gremlin in play. You have an equal chance of the sum of any roll totaling an odd or even number. For each odd sum you roll, you win a letter in "odd" -- and you're that much closer to winning that 9 of Diamonds. For each even sum you roll, you win a letter in "even" -- and you're that much closer to winning the $4000 gift card from Service Merchandise. When you complete a word, you complete the game and win either the playing card or the gift card. One more thing. When you've rolled two odd sums, I'll offer cash as a bribe to bail out of the game. (Jess hands Hunter the Super Crag dice cup) There are the dice. When you're ready -- give 'em a roll. (Hunter, as with the Super Crag bonus game, I'm programming randomizer.org to roll the dice 100 times. Please select one of the 100 rolls for your starting point. You'll see the result of that roll and at least the next few "down the list" until you complete a word or bail out.)

(Hunter shakes up bucket; pours dice down ramp) (scattered groans) Oh -- starting off odd instead. Dice total 9. (ding) One letter for "odd". We'll scoop up all the dice. Thank you, Jess. Roll again, please, Hunter. (Hunter shakes up bucket; pours dice down ramp) (scattered cheers) The 2, 5 and 3 total 10. (ding)Evens the count as they say in baseball. Roll 'em again, Hunter. (Hunter shakes up bucket; pours dice down ramp) (scattered cheers) Another even total -- 6, 5 and 1 add up to 12. (ding)Two more even rolls for that gift card, Hunter. Come on -- you can do it. (Hunter shakes up bucket; pours dice down ramp) (scattered groans) All odd numbers make an odd total of 11. (ding)Hunter, before you roll again, you have a decision to make. You may stop the game right now and take $250 for each letter in "even" you've won -- or $500 -- or you can keep rolling and try to win that Service Merchandise gift card. (audience shouts suggestions)

$500 would be nice, as it would allow me to purchase more games for my home game collection, however, that gift card would be better. I'm going for it, Doug!

(audience cheers)Going for it. An even sum keeps you in business. An odd roll ends it all. Good luck. (Hunter shakes up bucket; pours dice down ramp) (audience cheers)Hey now. That's an odd straight in the main game. (ding)Same can be said for Super Crag. Hunter -- another baseball term comes into play. You're looking at a full count -- two "odd" letters and three "even" letters. The next roll determines whether you win a huge playing card -- or a smaller, but valuable, gift card. I'll give you $750 to bail out if you have a feeling the next roll's an odd sum. (audience shouts suggestions)

(audience cheers) Oh, you got 'em whipped up in a frenzy. Audience, start a chant of "even" for Hunter. He could use the mojo. (more cheers; crowd starts chanting, "Ee-ven! Ee-ven! Ee-ven! Ee-ven! Ee-ven!") When you're ready, roll 'em, Hunter. (crowd still chanting, "Ee-ven! Ee-ven! Ee-ven! Ee-ven! Ee-ven! Ee-ven! Ee-ven! Ee-ven! Ee-ven! Ee-ven! Ee-ven! Ee-ven! Ee-ven! Ee-ven! Ee-ven! Ee-ven! Ee-ven! Ee-ven! Ee-ven! Ee-ven!") (Hunter shakes up bucket; pours dice down ramp) (audience groans; wonk wonk wonk wonk) Ohhhh -- darn. The odd straight concludes matters. (ding)Not that the sounds affected the outcome -- but, fellers, shouldn't have we used buzzers on each odd roll? (inaudible explanation from the floor director) Buzzer's not working? Oh -- whatevs. (scattered laughter from the crowd) Hunter, as for you, we can't really let you leave with the 9 of Diamonds. After all, you wouldn't be playing with a full deck -- because Net Poker didn't play with a full deck. (scattered laughter from the crowd) Could we interest you in a $99 gift card from Service Merchandise instead?

(scattered applause) Good for you. $99 worth of shopping from Service Merchandise. After all, we've got to keep the "odd" theme in there. 99's an odd number -- made up of odd digits. Thanks for playing, Hunter, and enjoy that gas card. Our current champ, John Lopez, goes for even bigger stakes the next time we play Crag: The Numbers Game. 'Til then, for all of us on the Crag staff, Doug Morris saying -- make it a great day, keep the faith and treasure your loved ones. (WGYN closing theme plays; audience applause)
