Freezing on the nine. (A freeze bar appears over Matt's nine) Third question coming up, and this one's for you Matt. We surveyed 100 housewives and we asked them "What's more important to you? Money or having sex?". Matt, how many of them said that money is more important to them?

Matt says 80. (ding) Kevin, is the actual number higher or lower than 80?

Didn't expect a question like this to pop up. I think housewives can be strained for cash but I bet there are a few who need some "help in the bedroom" if you know what I mean. With that, I think it's going to be a tad lower.

Kevin says lower. (ding) The actual number of housewives who said that money is more important to them is.......................75 of them. (ding ding ding) It is indeed a tad lower and you have control Kevin. You have a seven as your base card. Play it or change it?

Change that seven, please!

He's changing the seven. It is now.........................a five (5C). A little bit of a better card there. How do you want to play the five, Kevin?

I gotta freeze.

He's taking the safe route and freezing on the ten. (A freeze bar appears over Kevin's ten) This is the fourth and final question of this round, which means that somebody must win on this play of the cards. Kevin, this question goes to you and it's an educated guess question. Approximately how many counties are there throughout the United States?

Okay, I live in New York which is a pretty big state so I'm not sure how to compensate for others. I'm going to take a stab and say there are 1,600 counties in the United States.

Matt says it's lower. (ding) The actual number of counties in the United States is...........................3,144. (ding ding ding) It's not lower, it's much higher. Kevin, you have a decision to make. You're frozen on the ten. You can play it or change it with a different card. Or you can pass to Matt, who would be forced to play off his nine. Keep in mind that you have one card left to go while Matt has three left. What do you want to do, Kevin?

Matt actually said higher so he should get control (however, he did edit his post. I'm not sure how to take that).

The rule on most shows is that the host has to go with the first answer given. I saw Matt's original answer of lower as I was typing my post and then he changed it after mine came out. But because I saw his post say "lower" first, I have to take that as his answer. Therefore, I need a decision from you, Kevin

Ah, I was wondering about that.
I'll have Matt play off the nine.

Matt, you must play off the nine since you did not win the question. How do you want to play the nine, Matt? (Also guys, in future, please do NOT edit your answer in your post once your original answer is posted)

If it's higher than a four, you tie up the match and we go to sudden death. However, if it's a four, three or two, Kevin will win another thousand dollars and play the Money Cards. To tie the match, higher than a four.....................another four (4H; buzzer) Would you believe this? First a double prevents Matt from winning game one, and now the same thing happens to Matt in game two. (cue CS 1978 match win sfx) Kevin, you have become our first champion on Card Sharks and you'll play the Money Cards in just a moment. (cue CS 1978 theme) Matt, what can I say? Right when you got some momentum going, a bad card had to pop up and block you from winning. We do have some nice parting gifts for you and we thank you for being on Card Sharks. Kevin, come on over here. (Kevin comes to where I'm standing) Kevin, you have another grand in your pocket for winning that round. That brings you to $2,000 and you'll have a chance to win a lot more in the Money Cards when we come back. (Fade to commercial)
