Let's go for broke! Lower!

If it's lower than a jack, you will win the first round and $1,000. For the win, is it?
(7 ♥)
ding-ding-ding!
(Card Sharks win cue)
Yes, it is, and you take Round 1 of this match! But it's a two out of three match, so koopakid17 still has a chance to catch up and possibly win. (Card Sharks Theme) We'll have the second round after this.

We're back, and ready to start Round 2 with two fresh rows of cards that our dealers are loading right now. This time, it's pathfinder20 who will start. We asked 100 engaged couples this question:
"Do you plan to have your wedding held in a church, or at a nontraditional place, like a courthouse or outdoors?"
How many of those couples do you think said that they're planning their wedding in a church?

I have been to several wedding in my life and see both venue traditional and otherwise. I still a lot of people hold the wedding in a church do to tradition. I will say 59.
Post by Bill Skinner on Dec 23, 2015 15:50:51 GMT -5
So pathfinder20 says it's 59.
ding!
koopakid17, do you believe the actual number is higher or lower?
Post by koopakid17 on Dec 23, 2015 17:37:35 GMT -5
I don't think as many people are into tradition. They'd much rather get it over with. I'll say lower than 59.
Post by Bill Skinner on Dec 24, 2015 10:46:00 GMT -5
And koopakid17 thinks it's lower.
ding!
The actual number of couples who said they're planning to get married in a church is...
ding-ding-ding!
...47, so it is lower, and koopakid17 will get to play the first card of the second round. What's the base card, Tiffany?
(5 ♥)
It's a 5. Do you want to play it right away, or would you like to change it?
Post by koopakid17 on Dec 26, 2015 12:02:19 GMT -5
Let's play it and go higher!
Post by Bill Skinner on Dec 26, 2015 12:29:09 GMT -5
Higher than a 5, Tiffany?
(3 ♣)
buzz!
No, it's not! Apparently, it's not your game, koopakid17. Now pathfinder20 has a chance to win this round and the game. Let's see his base card, Amber.
(10 ♣)
It's a 10, and once again, you have to play it right now. Is the next card higher or lower?
Post by pathfinder20 on Dec 26, 2015 16:47:02 GMT -5
Let's try lower please.
Post by Bill Skinner on Dec 27, 2015 13:55:47 GMT -5
Lower than a 10, Amber?
(9 ♠)
ding!
Yes, it is, and now what's your decision? Keep going or freeze?
Post by pathfinder20 on Dec 27, 2015 15:24:40 GMT -5
I am going to freeze.
Post by Bill Skinner on Dec 27, 2015 16:48:49 GMT -5
And pathfinder20 elects to freeze, as we go on to the next question. koopakid17, this is for you. We asked 100 music fans:
"Between Taylor Swift and Adele, who do you think is the better singer?"
How many of those people said that Adele is the better singer?
Post by koopakid17 on Dec 28, 2015 17:37:44 GMT -5
I think people would rather hear Adele than Taylor. I'll say 65 of them.
Post by pathfinder20 on Dec 28, 2015 19:15:32 GMT -5
I am going to say a wee bit higher than that.
Post by Bill Skinner on Dec 29, 2015 10:58:03 GMT -5
So koopakid17 says 65...
ding!
...and pathfinder20 says it is higher.
ding!
The actual number of people who said that Adele is better than Taylor Swift is...
ding-ding-ding!
...67, so it is higher, and pathfinder20, you will start at the 9 you froze at earlier. Do you want to play it now, or change it?
Post by pathfinder20 on Dec 29, 2015 15:24:57 GMT -5
Let's change please.
Post by Bill Skinner on Dec 29, 2015 16:48:20 GMT -5
And the 9 is now...
(10 ♠)
...ooh, a 10! Is the next card higher or lower?
Post by pathfinder20 on Dec 29, 2015 17:15:00 GMT -5
Let's go with the odds and say lower.
Post by Bill Skinner on Dec 29, 2015 17:17:25 GMT -5
Lower than a 10, Amber?
(4 ♣)
ding!
It's a 4! Continue or freeze?
Post by pathfinder20 on Dec 29, 2015 17:43:17 GMT -5
Let's advance. Higher!
Post by Bill Skinner on Dec 29, 2015 17:46:43 GMT -5
Higher than a 4?
(Q ⋄)
ding!
A queen! And once again, you're just one card away from another win and a chance to play the Money Cards! So what's your decision now?
Post by pathfinder20 on Dec 29, 2015 21:40:46 GMT -5
Lower!
Post by Bill Skinner on Dec 30, 2015 12:03:36 GMT -5
Well, as long as it's not an Ace, a King or another Queen, you will win the game plus $1,000 more. What is it?
(2 ♥)
ding-ding-ding!
(Card Sharks win cue)
It's a 2, and pathfinder20 wins again! And as a result of your win, you will play the Money Cards for a moment, but first, let's say goodbye to koopakid17. You did your best, but it just wasn't your day. However, we do have some nice parting gifts for you, thanks for playing. (Card Sharks Theme) pathfinder20 will now take on the Money Cards, where he could win lots and lots of cash! How much? You'll have to find out after you watch these commercials. We're coming right back!

Welcome back, and I'm here with pathfinder20, who swept the main game 2 games to none, and will now play the Money Cards bonus round. That $2,000 you won earlier is yours to keep, regardless of what happens here. Now we're going to start you off with $1,000 of betting money. We have four cards on the first row, two on the second row, and one on the last row. On the second row, you will receive $2,000 of betting money, even if you bust on the first. But if you bust on the second row or higher, your game is over. You must bet at least $100 on each card except the Big Bet on the top row, in which you must bet at least half of what you have at that point. Of course, you're allowed to change your base card on each row if you wish. Start pathfinder20 off with $1,000, please.
ding!
Now let's see the first card that you will start off with, and that card is...
(J ♣)
...a Jack! Would you like to play it now or change it?
Post by pathfinder20 on Dec 30, 2015 17:52:52 GMT -5
Let's play it and bet $500 that's it's lower.
Post by Bill Skinner on Dec 30, 2015 19:07:21 GMT -5
For $500, is it lower?
(2 ♠)
ding!
Yes, you got a very good card, and $1,500 in your bank! What's your call now?
Post by pathfinder20 on Dec 30, 2015 21:20:11 GMT -5
Let's go all or nothing higher. $1500.

Post by Bill Skinner on Dec 31, 2015 11:41:24 GMT -5
For $1,500 more, is it higher than a deuce?
(J ⋄)
ding!
It's another jack, and you have $3,000! What's your next call?

$1000 lower please.
