(buzz buzz) Matt wants to keep on rollin' with two rolls left and he gets... (Matt rolls)(buzz) (audience groans)...those darned doubles. Matt, 'fraid we gotta give you the same bad news -- because you don't get anything for a pair. Audience: Not in this game! And we have a changing of the guards again. Jon, you're back in the roller's box -- but first... ...you may take one free letter.

Is the answer GAME FOR KIDS?
|
|
|
Post by dougmorrisontheair on Sept 2, 2015 21:45:41 GMT -5
(dings; letters on top line automatically reveal; audience applause) It is -- GAME FOR KIDS. Now -- Jon -- you're well aware of this situation. I'm explaining for the record. Solving a clue correctly gives you a chance to solve the puzzle. If you're right, you win the game. If you're wrong, you take the final roll of the round. So -- what do you think is the solution to this puzzle?

(dings; audience applause) Great guess because that's it -- WHITE MARBLES. Jon, you now have two clues -- and another chance to solve the puzzle. If you're right, you win the game. If not, we proceed with another name game since we're out of rolls.

Well, just to conclude matters, we'll take a look. (FF reveal sfx) Ah -- toy *mammals* -- referencing the hippos which have to be activated in order to eat up those white marbles in that game for kids. That's Hungry Hungry Hippos, all right. (CariDee puts dice near Matt's buzzer) Jon, stand by, please. You'll take your money roll to see how much you'll play for in Lucky 7. Matt, the bad news is you lost. The good news is we'll see you later in the second half of our show. Even better -- CariDee is going to take you by the hand -- as she walks you over to a comfortable chair in contestants' row. We'll see you later for Game 2, Matt Ringgenberg. (Matt and CariDee walk away from the dice table hand-in-hand) (audience cheers) Jon -- you know this drill by heart. You're about to take the money roll. This special roll of the dice determines the maximum amount of money you could win in Lucky 7. The sum of the roll is worth $5000 a point (scattered cheers) and it's okay if you roll doubles this time. If you roll snake eyes, you could win up to $10,000 in Lucky 7. Nothing to sneeze at. But if you roll boxcars, that means a potential $60,000 payoff. (audience cheers) So -- when you're ready -- please grab those dice and take your money roll. (Jon rolls) (scattered applause) Acey deucey for $15,000. That's the number of dollars he'll win -- if Jon can make seven numbers disappear in Lucky 7. See if he can do it when On A Roll continues right after this. (theme plays; audience cheers) (theme plays)

(audience cheers) Welcome back to the dice table for more of "On A Roll". Jon Darrall has just won a game -- and the right to play Lucky 7. Now, Jon, you've met our guest models for today. There's one more important cast member that you haven't met. That cast member is behind that door awaiting the formal introduction. The cast member will be keep track of important stats throughout your Lucky 7 round. Annnd -- the cast member went through some cosmetic surgery over the summer. Hard not to out here in SoCal. (scattered laughter) So, Jon, ladies and gentleman, let's give a warm "On A Roll" welcome back to -- Wally! (audience cheers; theme plays; door opens to reveal the new Wally) Wally, great to meet you. Looking forward to working with you. Ahhhh, thanks for the warm greeting. I know Greg appreciates the shout-out. Wally, may we have the numbers for the Lucky 7 round, please. (FF reveal sfx)Thank you, Wally. Jon, you know how Lucky 7 works. To win the top payoff, you must eliminate those numbers, 4 through 10 inclusive, by rolling our dice. Any time the sum of your roll equals one of those numbers, that number disappears and you pocket $500. If you repeat one of those sums, no penalty; we just give you $50 and you're still on a roll. Any roll of 3 or 11 is wild. That gives you the power to eliminate one of the remaining numbers *or* take a token for the car game. For solving the puzzle earlier, you already have earned... (ding)...one token. As you get on a roll, you're allowed to collect a total of four tokens. When you get down to one number on the board, Wally will then give you five tries to match that last number -- and it has to be done naturally. If you can eliminate all seven numbers, your winnings will be augmented to -- how much?

FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS, Doug!

(audience cheers) One more thing, just like the main game, you want to avoid rolling doubles. Any double means one strike and you can't eliminate a number. Three strikes and the game ends -- but you keep what you've won. And every dollar is important -- because the player who scores more money in Lucky 7 returns to our next show. Good luck, Jon. Let's try to win $15,000. (audience cheers) (Jon rolls)And the champ starts off with a 7. (ding) $500 to the good already. CariDee is returning the dice to you. Roll again. (Jon rolls) (buzz) (audience groans) Oooh -- boxcars. Well, you *do* get something for a double here. Unfortunately, it's a strike. Shake it off, Jon, and roll again. (Jon rolls)(cha-ching) (audience cheers) Now that's more like. The 3 is one of the wild rolls. Would you like to take a number -- or another token for the car game?

The 4 goes bye-bye. (ding) Even Wally likes that move. Up to $1000. At least five good rolls away from 15 large. Roll 'em again, Jon. (Jon rolls)(buzz) (audience groans) Oh no! Another double! Another strike! Well said, Wally. Jon, one more double and this Lucky 7 game is ovah. (CariDee blows on dice for good luck; hands them to Jon) Perhaps that will help. Come on, Jon, no more doubles! (Jon rolls)(bust buzzer; audience groans; TPiR losing horns) And a dirty look from the snake eyes concludes matters. Jon, I am terribly sorry. (a few laughs from the crowd) As he quotes David Sparks from the pilot episode, Wally apologizes as well. Man, I cannot believe that.

Doug: Yeah, $15,000 would've been a nice pay day -- but it's a mere pittance compared to what you're playing for next. Right, Tiffany? Tiffany: Oh it's a really luxurious prize, Doug. And, Jon, it's a prize you're rather familiar with -- (game board moves stage left to reveal Erin standing next to prize) -- IT'S A NEW CAR! (car theme plays; audience cheers)That's right, it's a Mercedes-Benz CLS550 Coupe. This luxurious ride has the Premium 1 Package plus high performance tires, leather/wood steering wheel and much more. This fantastic car is worth $79,735. Good luck, Jon. Doug: And you certainly know how Wally's car game works. Wally, may we have the numbers for said car game, please. (FF reveal sfx) Thank you, Wally. Jon, you only have one token to work with -- but one is all it takes to win the car. Wally has randomly hidden the word "car" behind one of those numbers. Find it with your token and you win your fourth car on the show -- which would take your total winnings to more than $650,000. (scattered cheers and woos) So -- where's that magic word "car", Jon?

Number 1 it is. All right, Wally please cover Jon's token over the number 1. (ding)Neat trick, don't you think? (scattered laughter) If the word "car" is in that screen, Jon, you've *won* the car with just *one* token. Is the car there? (bust buzzer; audience groans; TPiR losing horns)Sorry about that. No car there. Show us where the car was, Wally, please. (ding)Number 4 had it. Well, we turn that negative into a positive, Jon. The token you used is now worth 500 additional dollars to your record total. Wally, crunch those numbers, please, to show Jon some good news. (audience cheers)$571,540 in cash and merchandise for you -- and a chance to win more. Jon and Matt return, the guest models will change places -- and we all hope to see you back at the dice table for Game 2 -- of On A Roll. Stay with us, please. (theme plays; audience cheers)

(audience cheers)Welcome back to On A Roll. We're about to start Game 2 of this match between Jon and Matt. Jon, our returning champion, scored $1000 in Lucky 7. Matt, this means you must win this game and score more than $1000 to become champion; if you score exactly $1000 in Lucky 7, the match ends in a tie and you'll both compete on the next show. In Game 2, CariDee English, winner of the seventh "America's Next Top Model" cycle, is operating our game board.
CariDee: Still waiting for that call from you, Greg. (winks at camera; blows kiss)
(scattered laughter from the crowd)
And while she awaits further work, Erin's with us here at the dice table -- bringing her dazzling smile and cute little navel.
(scattered laughter from the crowd)
Erin: (laughs) Thanks. They would never let me wear this on the sidelines.
Hey -- they should.
In any event, we'll take a look at the numbered and blocked spaces on the game board for this game -- *after* someone wins a name game. So, Jon and Matt, hands on the buzzers, please, and away we go.
(FF reveal sfx) Nine letters in this famous last name -- and here's your clue. He got on a roll -- when he listed the worst persons in the worlds of news and, later, sports. (ding) (As before, players, please PM me your buzzcodes from 1-100 and your answers.)

62 jmdarrall 73 mringgenberg 85 random.org (Matt buzzes in) Matt? Matt: Albertson (TPiR Pathfinder wrong move sfx)Guess certainly fits -- but that's not the name we're looking for. Jon, the computer will randomly add three more letters... (ding) ...and you get a chance to capitalize. [Note from Doug: Jon already submitted the correct answer when just three letters were revealed. You're about to see his original response.]Jon: Olbermann
