I'll be taking a break from Price to give this MTV show the syndication treatment. Here's how the game works.
Two teams of two answer pop culture/music video questions in order to score points (dollars here) and protect their six "prized possessions" they brought from home from getting trashed by the trasher. To start, a toss-up question is asked to both teams and the first team to buzz-in with a correct answer wins the right to choose which of their opponents' items they would like to see trashed. After that, a category is given and three questions from that category are asked. All questions are toss-ups and the first team to buzz-in with a correct answer scores $500 ($1,000 in round 2). For the team trying to defend their object from being trashed, they must answer two of the questions correctly to save their item; otherwise, the selected item is "trashed" in many ways by The Trasher. When a category is finished regardless if the item was trashed or not, the team that answered the most out of three gets to choose the next item of their opponents' to trash.
Each team plays three items each round, and they can only be played once whether they were trashed or not.
In the final round of the main game, instead of trashing contestant's items, we trash the contestants themselves. For one member from each team is "imprisoned", while their partners stand back at their podiums and answer questions (usually relating to one of three things). Each correct answer in this round is worth $1,500. The round lasts for an obscure time of 39 seconds (in this case, 11 questions) and the team in the lead when time runs out wins the game.
The imprisoned contestant of the losing team ends up getting "trashed" in all sorts of ways. The winning team keeps the cash, while the losing team gets the privilege of doing 10 hours of community service plus some other tacky parting gifts. Any team that keeps all six of their items in tact wins a pair of bonus prizes.
Bonus Round:
The whole music video thing wouldn't work because all the information is up on YouTube. So, I'll just ask 10 two-part questions, and each player supplies the answer for each part. If either one doesn't know, he can pass. Each correct pair of answers adds .1 to a base multiplier of 1.0; but a wrong answer "trashes" the multiplier (or resets it back to 1.0). So, if a team gives me 20 correct answers, their score is multiplied by 2.0 (for a potential maximum of $42,000).
After each bonus round, the winning team can either stop with their cash and possessions, or come back the next show and once again put up their stuff (or add new things to bring the team total to six). If they can win three games in a row, they'll each get a brand new car.
As for buzzing in, I'll ask each team to together give me a list of 29 buzzcodes and I'll work from there.
Oh, and here's a full episode of it to give you guys an idea.
Any questions? Any answers? Anybody want to play?
