========================================================================================================================== [OPENING THEME, CHEERS AND APPLAUSE] George Gray: Aces and deuces Those cards are great But watch out for A seven or eight...On...[CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]
And here's the host of Card Sharks... Tony Lane![WILD CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Tony: Thank you, George Gray! Give it up for him, everyone... George: Thank you, Tony. Good morning, everybody!!! Tony: And a pleasant good morning to you too. Welcome to Card Sharks. TV's only show where you could win a fortune in cash and prizes on the turn of the cards. And if you play your cards right, you could win as much as $168,000... and a chance at winning a brand new automobile. I would like to say a very special thanks to former film star Karen Mistal-Waldron for that opening poem. She watches us on KCBS-TV in Los Angeles, California. In our previous episode, we have a champion who had won a brand new automobile in the Car Round. We'll meet him shortly. Right now, let's meet our lovely dealers. She's the associate producer of "The Heidi & Frank Show" while the other is one of the members of "The Kidd Kraddick Show". What are these two ladies have in common? They're part of the celebrity gossip program, "Dish Nation". Please give it up for Sammi Marino and Jenna Owens! [LOUD CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Hey ladies... welcome to the show. Sammi: Thank you, Tony. It's truly a great honor doing the show and I cannot wait to deal those cards. Jenna: Ditto... I'm sure we'll be there to see these players win some cash and prizes. Tony: I'm sure we'll be seeing some winners for the next 28 minutes. Right now, let's get to the cards! [MAIN THEME, CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]And while the "Dish Nation" ladies set up the board, let's say hello to these Card Sharks...*contestants run to their podiums* Our contestants for today are James Greek and our returning champion Greg Palmer. First of all, let's meet James for a moment. Please tell us about yourself.

Well, I'm a college student from Durham, NC. I'm really enjoying my time here in L.A. CBS was very nice to put me up at the Farmer's Daughter Hotel. I even got to meet the Farmer's Daughter herself, but she isn't as pretty as either one of the two ladies up there.
In the meantime, I called my folks, and they said they'd buy my new car off me for a very fair price.

Good luck to you, Greg. Both of you guys already know the rules... First person to win 2 out of 3 rounds will be playing the Money Cards for thousands more and at least a chance at winning a brand new automobile. And inside each of the players' cards, we have prize cards including cash cards ranging from $1,000 all the way up to $10,000! [AUDIENCE GASPS...] *G2-T2 hovers all the way to center stage* Let's start the first round with question #1. *grabs card* Greg... we've asked 100 policewomen: If you caught your mother speeding, would you give her a ticket? How many them say they would give their mother a ticket?

Well, the law is the law, even if it's your own mother. I know if it was me, and I was in that situation, I'd give my mom a ticket. I'm going to say that's a high number. 83.

[DING]83 out of 100 say they would give their mother a ticket. What do you think of that answer, James... higher or lower?

I wouldn't do that to my mom, but as Greg said, the law is the law, I'd say higher

[DING]If it's higher, you'll play your cards. If not, Greg will be playing his cards. And if one of you get that answer on the nose, you'll receive a $1,000 bonus. Greg says 83 and James says it's higher... the actual number of policewomen say they would give their mother a ticket is-- [DING-DING-DING, APPLAUSE]89. James is right... it is a tad higher. So that means the challenger will be playing his cards... starting with-- --a 5. Do you want to play on your 5 or change it, James?

Higher than a 5... [BUZZER, AUDIENCE GROANS...]No... it's a 4. James loses a card... and that means Greg will have a free chance... but must play on his base card-- --a Queen!

And we'll move Greg's freeze bar... *fade to host outside of Nintendo of America headquarters* Tony: Hi, folks... before we pause for a commercial break, we have lost a great man in the video game industry. As of July 11th, Nintendo Company, Limited Global President and CEO, as well as the CEO of Nintendo of America, Incorporated Satoru Iwata has passed away at the age of 55 due to a bile duct growth... a rare type of cancer. A talented programmer, Iwata first joined Nintendo’s HAL Laboratory in the 1980s, where he worked on games like Balloon Fight and EarthBound. He became a Director of the company in 2000, and in 2002 was appointed as only the fourth President of Nintendo when he succeeded Hiroshi Yamauchi. An immensely popular figure both within the industry and with Nintendo fans, he will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace, Mr. Iwata. *slowly fade to black*

Let's return to our first round with our next question. *grabs card* James... this question is for you and it involves 10 CBS News reporters and correspondents. Ladies and gentlemen... come on over to the Contestants' Row area. [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]*all reporters walk to the are* James, we've asked 10 CBS News reporters to this question-- Do you think that the national security has anything to do with the amount of illegal immigrants we have? How many of the reporters have said the answer is "no"?

I would say yes but it's a pretty low number since the media is so liberal. I say 25
