He is freezing on the eight, ladies and gentlemen. (small portion of the audience cheers) Some of our audience members seem to approve of that decision, and we go to our next hi lo question. Matt, we surveyed 100 third graders and we asked them "A cool new toy has just come out and you want it, but when you asked your parents if you can have it, they said no. Would you try and get it anyway?". Matt, how many of them said that they would try and get it despite their parents saying no?

Matt says 24 of them would go against their parents wishes and get the toy anyway. (ding) John, is the actual number higher or lower than 24?

I think more kids are more willing to go any lengths to go for that toy.

Very well. (ding) The actual number of third graders who said that they would go to great lengths to get the toy even if it means disobeying their parents is......................85 of them. (ding ding ding) It's certainly higher all right. And for you third graders who might be out there watching us right now, I hope you always listen to your parents. Okay John, you froze on the eight on your previous go around so that's your new starting point and you can play off the eight or change it.

He is changing the eight, and it is now..........................a Queen (QH)! That's a much better card. How do you want to call it, John?

He says higher, ladies and gentlemen. If this next card is higher, you'll win the game, $1,000 and that trip to the Bahamas. Higher than a four.......................a five (5C) and you win the first game! (CS 78 game win sfx) Very nicely done, John. And in addition to the money you just picked up, you've also won that trip to the Bahamas. Listen to Rich as he fills you in on the details. Rich: John, your vacation to the Bahamas will depart from Los Angeles and fly round trip coach to the Bahamas where you'll enjoy a six night stay in oceanfront accomodations at the Abaco Beach Resort and Boat Harbour Marina. Daily breakfast is included. This vacation in the Bahamas is worth $8,512. Me: And John, just like that, you've won over $9,000 cash and prizes already. $9,512 to be precise. All you have to do now is win one more game to become our new champion. We will rest both of the decks on the monitor. (Both card decks reset and re-shuffle) All right, the decks are ready and we will begin game number two with this question for John. We surveyed 100 newly married couples and we asked them "If you decide to have children, what kind of child would you want to have first?". John, how many of them said that they would want to have a girl first?

Well Mark, this is a really tough question for me, but I'm going to have to say 49.

Matt says it is higher. (ding) The actual number of newly married couples who said that they would want to have a girl first is.......................40 of them. (ding ding ding) Not higher, it was just a bit lower. Okay John, back to your row we go as we look at your base card to start this second game. It is........................a nine (9D). You have the option of playing the card or changing it.

He wants to go lower than the nine. Let's see...........................a Jack (JH; buzzer). Too bad about that, but you might get control again a little later. Right now, however, we go to Matt and check his base card. It is...........................a Jack (JD). You must play off of this card Matt.

(Back to the studio) We are back, and we will now continue game two with a question for Matt. We surveyed 100 people and we asked them if they are in favor of networks rebooting older TV series. Matt, how many of them said that they are in favor of networks rebooting old TV series?

Some networks have had very little success with reboots. NBC had learned from their mistakes with Knight Rider, The Bionic Woman, and Ironside. But CBS had success with Hawaii Five-O. So I'm going to say that it's a middle number. 44
