All right, we will begin the show now. All deadlines are 48 hours and away we go. (CS 1978 opening theme) Rich: Calling high or low Is an absolute must But make one wrong move And you'll quickly go bust On.............................Card Sharks! And here's the host of Card Sharks, Mark Liotta! (I enter the stage to a tremendous applause from the audience) Me: Thank you, Rich. Thanks, everybody. (Theme fades out) Welcome to Card Sharks, everybody. Television's only game where one contestant can win lots of money and perhaps a brand new car on the turn of just one card. And we have two fine folks who are aiming to take us for the big bucks today, so let's bring them out here right now. (Matt and John head to their positions) In the challenger position today is John Lopez. Welcome, John. (Audience gives John a round of applause) Please tell the folks at home about you and what you do.

Now I understand that you like playing a lot of retro video games, mainly original NES, Super Nintendo and so on. Good luck to you John as you try to dethrone our current champion. Welcome back, Matt. Please remind everyone about you and what you do.

Well we wish you good luck on our show today, Matt. For those of you tuning in for the very first time, I will explain how we play. Both of our contestants have their own row of playing cards on the video board behind me. Their job is to predict whether the next card in the sequence will be higher or lower than the card that preceded it. The first player to get through their row successfully wins $1,000 and the first player to win two games goes to play for a lot of money and a chance to win a new car. And since we're on the subject of money, I should point out that Matt has won $37,987 in cash and prizes during his two days as our champion. Good luck to you, sir, as well as to John. Our first question of the day involves our 10 teenagers that are in Contestants Row. Stand up if you please, kids. (Kids stand up) Those teenagers are going to be here for the rest of the week, ladies and gentlemen, and they've done a good job participating in our audience poll so far. Before the show, we asked these ten teenagers if they've ever been grounded for talking back to their parents. Matt, how many of them said that they've been grounded for talking back to their parents?

That's better. Matt says 6 of them have been grounded for talking back to their parents. (ding) John, is the actual number higher or lower than 6?

John says that it is higher. (ding) And, I should also like to point out that if a contestant gets a survey answer exactly right, they get a bonus of $1,000. Now then, the actual number of these teenagers who have been grounded for talking back to their parents is..........................8 of them. (ding ding ding) All right, I'd like to know which 8 of you have been grounded for talking back to your folks. (Entire back row raises their hands and first three kids in front row raise their hands) Let me just say one thing. The two of you that have not been punished for talking back to their parents obviously know how to respect their parents. The rest of you could learn a thing or two from those two kids. Now John, let's see what your first card is going to be. (John's first card is revealed on the monitor) It is a three (3C). You can play off the three or you can change it. It's up to you, you're the boss. What do you want to do?

Lower than the King...............hmm, interesting. John, I think that you will agree that it would be nice to win a trip to the Bahamas. (ding ding ding) That'll go into your prize bank, and you'll be off to the Bahamas if you win this game. Want to go lower than the King again?

He is freezing on the eight. (Freeze bar goes on John's eight; Theme begins) And that music means it's time for our first commercial break. We'll return, though. (Fade to commercial)

(Back to the studio) We're back with more Card Sharks, everyone. John took an early lead before the commercial and we will now pick up game number one with a question to John. We surveyed 100 single women and we asked them "What do you look for most in a guy? Money, self-confidence or strong muscles?". John, how many of them said that they look for strong muscles the most?

I'm gonna have to say 50. Both money and self-confidence are strong, but for some odd reason, I think ladies would rather have strength in a man, physical strength.

John thinks 50 of them look for strong muscles in a guy. (ding) Matt, do you think the actual number is higher or lower than 50?

Matt says it's a bit higher. (ding) The actual number of single women who said that they look for strong muscles in a guy is................58 of them. (ding ding ding) It is indeed a bit higher. Okay Matt, let's see what turns up for you. (Matt's first card is revealed on the monitor) An Ace (AS)! That's a fantastic opening card, Matt. Play it or change it?
