Today we lose an NBA Hall of Famer and a disgraced MLB player on the same day...

First up, Dikembe Mutombo, the finger-wagging shot blocker who engineered the first-ever 8-over-1 upset in the NBA playoffs 30 years ago (Denver over Seattle), has died of brain cancer at the age of 58:

Also, Pete Rose, the all-time hits leader who was banned permanently from baseball for his gambling scandal, has passed away at 83:

I was just talking about Pete Rose 2 days ago with my son. So often when I think of certain famous people, within a matter of a day or two they die! Here's yet another example of that!
