Initally, this was going to be called either Crypt-O-Rama or Cryptic-Cash In! but this name kind of rung in a little better. This show combines the puzzling word games of cryptograms where one letter substitutes another in a coded message, with trivia. Think of it like Wheel of Fortune for secret messages and a general knowledge quiz
RULES:
Rounds 1 and 2: Cryptic Comprehension
At the beginning of each round, the puzzle is unveiled. 3 contestants all vie for a chance to earn money and guess letters in the message. Before gameplay begins, a clue is given and a letter is revealed in the code and substituted for it's real letter. A question is then asked to the 3 players, and they must buzz in and give the correct answer. If answered correctly, they earn 50 dollars and earn the right to guess a letter in the puzzle. If the letter is guessed correctly, they will earn 25 dollars per letter that go toward the Cryptic Cash jackpot, and if any of the players can correctly solve the coded phrase, they will add the amount of the jackpot toward their score. At the end of both rounds, the lowest scoring player is eliminated.
Round 3: Speed Round
This round, the encrypted words will be partially revealed to the two players. Correct guesses will be worth 100 dollars. When time runs out, the player with the most cash at the end will advance and the runner-up will receive some consolation prizes
Bonus Round: The Crypto-Family
The winning player now faces a list of 7 crypted words, each having a common bond with one another. The player is then given 10 questions, with a correct answer representing a guess at a letter in the puzzle, in addition to a free letter given at random. The correct letter will be arranged along with the freely given letter (each worth 75 dollars bonus, with the total as a guaranteed amount to take home), and with what words are revealed, the player will then have a guess at what the words have in common. If they can correctly guess the theme, they will earn the jackpot bonus of 10,000 dollars, if guessed incorrectly the player will get another chance as champion, and the value will increase by 5,000 dollars until guessed correctly.
So, with that out of the way, I'll need 3 players to sign-up.

Alright, in 3....2....1.... ( Opening theme) (Applause) Beau Weaver: Today, one of these lucky contestants will go for a jackpot of 10,000 dollars. But they must rely on wit and deduction as they play the game where trivia meets cryptic phrases..... Beau Weaver: CRYPTO-QUIZ! (cheers and applause) And now, here's the host of Crypto-Quiz, the master decoder himself, John Lopez (applause as I come out, running to a podium as the three contestants applaud as well) John: Thank you very much Beau, and thank you audience. Welcome to Crypto-Quiz, where decoding the phrase can get you paid...(a few groans from the audience) Well, you win some you lose some, but in this case, our 3 potential contestants are hoping to win some dough. Let's meet them, introducing first, from Greenville, SC, a test prep instructor and community relations developer, please welcome Jon Darrall. (applause) Alright Jon it says here you're a bit of a traveler, tell me about some interesting spots you've been to.

That's a very unique event to compete in, Matt. Well good luck to you as well as the others. The Cryptic Comprehension round is getting ready to start. Our three players are going to answer questions in order to decode a cryptogram. For those of you unfamiliar with a cryptogram, it's a coded message where letters must be substituted for other letters to spell out a phrase or quotation, and to a lesser extent, actual words. Each puzzle will start off with a clue and a free letter decoded, which will add early on to the puzzle's Jackpot as each letter is worth 25 dollars. I will then ask a question, players will buzz-in (send buzzcode between 1-100) and whoever is closest will get the right to answer (it will be the order of who is closest to the buzzcode; if it's an exact match, I will give a bonus of an additional 50 dollars). If they are correct, they can guess a letter in the puzzle, and depending if it's correct, can either solve or pass. If they are wrong, we will move on to the remaining contestants, if they fail to answer, we'll move on to the next question. Whoever can solve the puzzle, will capture the Jackpot currently posted. Alright, let's get the first puzzle loaded up. ( Board Fill) The clue is "Apology for a hero". Now, let's give you a hint.....and the G in the puzzle is really....( ding) ....an N! And the pot currently stands at 75 dollars. Hands on your buzzers, here is the first question. What U.S. state is called 'The Land of the Midnight Sun'?

James, read the rules next time. I clearly stated you needed to send a buzzcode. I have to throw out the question and unfortunately, I must give you a Strike.
Everyone again, PM a buzzcode. Here is a new question
What cartoon character always used the famous line 'I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today'?
