The current syndicated run of Family Feud debuted with Louie Anderson as host.
Exactly a quarter century ago today, mercy!
On this date 25 years ago, Family Feud was NEW KNEW GNU NOO NEW!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sadly, I find the show unwatchable anymore with the lewd questions and with Fast Money becoming extremely hard to win anymore, just not enjoyable to watch.

Maybe I'm the odd one out but I've always enjoyed the Louie Anderson era of the show. Sure, there were things that I didn't like, such as the single/single/single/triple (and one strike) format and the no returning champions. I also didn't like how during Louie's third (and final) season, he seemed exhausted and just seemed like he was going through the motions. I personally think that he was at his best during the second season. A couple of the things that I did like, however, were the set, the new music and cues, and the fact that for the third season they increased the fast money prize to $20,000 (which I believe was Louie's suggestion, if I remember correctly.) Also during the third season, after the tragic events of 9/11, they did a tournament special on the Feud with Louie putting up $75,000 of his own money to start off. (I believe that this is an episode from that very week?)

I take back whatever negative things I may have said about Mr. Anderson, because as terrible as he was, at least he didn't stoop as low as Mr. Harvey does. In fact, he was a class act, and I actually find his show more enjoyable compared to the current iteration of the show. I'm very fortunate to have replicated his era of the show on both my Seasons series and its daytime spinoff (even though the last network airing occurred in 1993, six years before the current run's debut).
