Nels: know (buzz)Doug: Sorry, I can't take that. (George rings in) Doug: George? George: to know. Doug: *That's* what's we needed. (audience cheers)Doug: The full song title is "Somebody That I Used To Know". I stopped at "Somebody That I Used..." -- and you had to pick up the rest. Sorry, about that, Nels. Break though for the challenger -- and this card, perhaps. (audience cheers)...a 10. Would give you 19 if you took it, George. (audience shouts suggestions)

(freeze sfx) (audience cheers) You're allowed to that. That happened often on the original series. So we allow that here on the Vegas version. Nels, catch-up time. You may collect cards and answer questions unopposed as long as you come up with correct responses. The moment you miss a question, you'll be stopped wherever you are. You'd like to be at 20, you'd love to be at 21, you don't want to be stopped anywhere else. Where do you start?

(freeze sfx) (audience cheers)Doesn't want to take the big risk and find an ace? Wait -- old show. (scattered laughter from crowd) Seriously, basic strategy to stand on 20. George, all of a sudden, here it is, your last chance to play. On this chance, you must answer a question correctly -- and then you must take the lead without busting. Only way it can be done is by drawing a deuce for a total of 21. Champ left you four categories. Where do you go for the last chance?

Last question of the game coming up. The 4th day of October is a great day to celebrate truckers -- which can be expressed as 10-4, good buddy. What country music legend performed "East Bound and Down" for the "Smokey and the Bandit" soundtrack?

That's it's. (audience cheers) Okay, now, here's where either your intuition or Lady Luck is coming into play. If there's a 2 behind the chosen category or on top of the deck, George, you're the next champion. First, let's check the board. It's a 9 -- *way* too much. Obviously we have to go to the top card. It needs to be a deuce or else Nels is returning to Top Card Plus. Jackie, what's the top card? (Jackie lifts top card) (buzz) (audience groans)It's a 4. Sorry, George. Nels, you've another game. (applause; theme plays)Nels, the money in Jackie's Pot goes to Top Card Plus. That will be among the cash cards in play. In the meantime, for winning this round, you win $5000. Bringing your total for two wins to $76,000. (audience cheers)And later in the show, another chance at $1,000,000 in Top Card Plus. George, you're not leaving Las Vegas empty-handed. You did win $2500 earlier in the game... ...you'll take that along with our great thanks for making this a great game of Top Card -- and this is your applause. (audience cheers)When we come back, Bryan rejoins us -- because we want him to take home some Top Card dollars here in Vegas. We'll be this -- right after back. (audience cheers)

All right, here's what we're going to do. There are two categories we never got to play in our main game... ...Yacht Rock and Shades of "Grey". And we're going to let you play a couple of questions from each category. First we'll start with two questions from Yacht Rock -- and then two questions from Shades of "Grey". Each time you correctly answer a question, you win $250. If you correctly answer all four questions, you'd have a total of $1000 -- but we'll then double that money to $2000. (audience cheers)So best of luck to you and here we go, Bryan
YACHT ROCK 1. His fans are called Parrotheads -- and many of his resorts are based upon his signature hit song "Margaritaville". This music legend's name is Jimmy...
2. The titles of how many top 20 hits by the Little River Band are in the following statement?: "Lady, help is on its way from the night owls."
SHADES OF "GREY"
3. American Doug Flutie quarterbacked two different Canadian Football League franchises to championships in the 1990s. He and his teammates ended up winning -- what?
4. This singer and dancer had a pivotal guest-starring role in the finale of the original run of the TV series "Dallas". What is this actor's first and last name?
(Bryan, please PM me your answer to each question.)

Doug: We'll start with Yacht Rock. His fans are called Parrotheads -- and many of his resorts are based upon his signature hit song "Margaritaville". This music legend's name is Jimmy...
Bryan: Buffett Doug: That's right. (audience cheers)Doug: $250 in your coffers already. Second question from Yacht Rock. The titles of how many top 20 hits by the Little River Band are in the following statement?: "Lady, help is on its way from the night owls."
Bryan: 3 Doug: Three is right. (audience cheers)Doug: Billboard says "Lady", "Help Is on Its Way", and "The Night Owls" each peaked within the top 20. I'm not sure if a lady would want help from night owls. (scattered laughter from crowd) Doug: Okay, you cleared that category. There's at least one more question in it -- but we gotta save it for Top Card Plus. Meantime, we go to Shades of "Grey". Remember, the right answer to each question contains the word "Grey" with an "e". American Doug Flutie quarterbacked two different Canadian Football League franchises to championships in the 1990s. He and his teammates ended up winning -- what?Bryan: Grey Cup Doug: The Grey Cup is right. (audience cheers)Doug: Our researchers say we also could've accepted "Coupe Grey" -- the French pronunciation. Bryan, you're one correct answer away from a total of $2000. Here it is. This singer and dancer had a pivotal guest-starring role in the finale of the original run of the TV series "Dallas". What is this actor's first and last name?Bryan: Joel Grey Doug: You have $2000. (theme plays; audience applause)Doug: $2000 cash to take back to North Mississippi plus some fine gifts and our thanks for playing, Bryan. Nels returns with another chance at $1,000,000 in Top Card Plus -- after this. (audience cheers)

All righty, here's how we play Top Card Plus, Nels. During the break, we reactivated our main game categories. Again to clarify, we also had *you* cut Jackie's deck of cards. Also during the break, we randomly hid behind the categories a joker and seven cash cards. Behind *those* cards are cards from a regulation 52-card deck. If you find cash, I'll ask you a question from the chosen category. Answer it correctly and you win the cash award -- plus you'll have that familiar choice of the card on the board or the top card in front of Jackie. Collect cards that total 21 and you win a bonus of $1,000,000. (audience cheers)But -- we *are* in Las Vegas -- and the house is known for having its advantages. In addition to the joker that's on the board, three jokers, just as mean, were shuffled into Jackie's deck. (scattered boos)
The moment any joker appears, you'll instantly bust and lose all the cash you've won in Top Card Plus. If you go over 21, that's also a bust -- and a forfeit of all the cash. No matter how you bust, the bonus game is over. So, after you've collected a good card, you may freeze and cash out. I should clarify for new viewers we would have four jokers in the deck -- but this is Nels' second straight trip to Bonusville. That means we take a joker away. For each further consecutive trip, one more joker goes bye-bye. One more word of caution, Nels. When you answer a question incorrectly, you lose half your cash winnings -- and if you have a chance to spare, you must choose another category. You have four chances to hit 21. That means you may select as many as four of these categories. Where do we start?

Three letters words

Going with the small words -- hopefully worth a lot of cash. (audience cheers)Well -- nice start -- $4200. Remember also once you draw a card, Nels, you collect its value in thousands of dollars. So here's your $4200 question. Simply put, this word means "small axe". But it can net you at least 19 points in Scrabble -- as long as you don't use a blank tile. What is this three-letter word?

(buzz)Good try. Zax is the correct answer. The Z tile is worth 10 points, the A is worth 1, and the X is worth 8. That's the 19-point word -- worth a lot more if you hit a triple word space. 'Fraid you don't get a card -- and with the wrong answer, you lose half your money in this round of Top Card Plus. But, in this case, we've all demonstrated an old Billy Preston song. Nothing from nothing leaves nothing. (scattered laughter from crowd) Three chances to go, Nels. You can still hit 21. But you can't afford to make another mistake on the questions. Good luck -- and please choose another category.
