In the interest of caution, I'm taking Wednesday and Thursday off due to the possibility we'll see side effects from Tropical Storm/Hurricane Francine.
As of this writing, looks like the worst we'll see is lots of rain and high winds. That might lead to power outages, school/business closings, etc.
In the event I can come out of hiding and say hello in this period and host/play, I will. But -- better to err on the side of caution.
Thanks for understanding.

Keeping my fingers crossed that you and all there will be spared, and I must say it's none too easy typing with ones fingers crossed!

Thanks. The noon briefing hasn't changed from this morning. This isn't evacuation-worthy this far inland. Francine's projected to be Cat. 1 at worst.
Most we're going to see: Lots of rain, high winds, a decent chance at power outages and downed trees. Tornado can't be ruled out -- but not much more than that.

Thanks. Looks like Francine will be a Cat. 2 at worst.
Still for my neighborhoods, no real change. The "fun" begins Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. Central and last through early Thursday morning.

We're getting a better idea of what Francine will do for our neighborhoods. Heavy rain should start Wednesday evening and end sometime Thursday morning. ( billmcdee , with that, we're starting your consolation round on Top Card.)

If you're reading this, we've basically dodged a bullet. Outside my home, there's a noticeable good soaking. Otherwise, I feel like Marvin the Martian. "Where's the kaboom? There was supposed to be an earth-shattering kaboom?" Texts from friends and relatives are echoing. tmann3x , I'm ready for the HS question. billmcdee , we'll finish the Top Card side game. For everything else, we'll move forward ASAP. Thanks for your patience. -D.M.

That's truly fantastic news Doug! So very glad for you and all who live in your neck of the currently soaked woods!
