(ding)An E and a V appear -- and the danger zone opens for the first time in Round 2. Rolls of 2 and 3, oddly enough, cannot be playing. Steve, you may guess for $1600, roll again, or pass the dice.

(ding)Another V -- another E -- and a widening danger zone. Rolls of 2, 3, 5, 8, and 12 are unlucky. Steve, you may guess for $1400, roll again, or pass the dice.

RAVE REVIEW

(ASB win cue plays; audience applause) That right. We add $1400 to your coffers, Steve. (chimes; audience cheers) And with *that* sound, here's a chance to pad the lead. This is the last follow-up question of the game. It's the biggie for $1000. Be careful -- because if you miss, Rick has a chance to capitalize. So, Steve, for $1000. In addition to receiving rave reviews, the movie "Oppenheimer" earned 13 nominations at the 96th Academy Awards. Out of those 13 nominations, how many awards did the film win?

I’ll guess 8 Oscars

Not eight. So we offer this to Rick. In addition to receiving rave reviews, the movie "Oppenheimer" earned 13 nominations at the 96th Academy Awards. Out of those 13 nominations, how many awards did the film win?

(sighs) I was afraid this was going to happen. Steve, you overshot by one. Rick, you undershot by one. "Oppenheimer" won *seven* Oscars. (audience groans) Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Support Actor, Best Cinematography, Best Film Editing, and Best Original Score. Steve still leads 3650 to Rick's 1800. Let's quickly start a new puzzle. It's a nine-letter word. (chime sfx)Rick, you trail. So please start us off. (audience cheers as...) (Rick rolls)Starting with a 6.

(ASB win cue plays; audience applause) Correct. (tacky buzzer)Ohhh -- but there's the buzzer. I don't think it's going to be enough, Rick. Steve, you win another game.
Indeed -- that was a close one. Rick, that earlier movie question would've made the difference. Had you nailed it after Steve missed, you'd be winning by now with $4300. Sorry that you're not going to the main event. But you are going home with $3300 plus some fine gifts. All that plus this applause are all yours, Rick Morris. (audience cheers)Will Steve Anderson continue the streak of $100,000 wins at the main event? The champ could clean house and win much more. Find out -- after this. (commercial cue plays; audience applauds)

Steve Anderson is a two-time champion with... (audience cheers)...$113,914 in cash and merchandise -- with a big chance to add more to it. Steve, these are the medals you're trying to collect. We've split 'em in half. We now cover them... (chime sfx)...with these lucky numbers. You must roll the *combinations* seen up there to snatch the respective half medals. (prize music)When you do put together both halves of a particular medal, you may trade it in for a prize or a chance to play for more cash. A prize and a special game that were unclaimed from the last show are back today. Here's Bill Kennedy with more about those -- and details about what's new. Bill: My pleasure, Doug. First, Steve, for the bronze medal, it's a Harley-Davidson Iron 883 motorcycle -- valued at $12,125. (audience cheers)Next for the silver medal, it's our special Cookie Jar game -- with a possible payoff of $100,000 cash. (audience cheers)Finally for the gold medal -- the new prizes. That's right -- prizes -- *plural*. We have not one but TWO NEW JEEPS! (audience cheers) Take charge in luxury with these Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. Each Jeep comes with a 285-horsepower V6 engine, all-wheel drive, an eight-speed automatic transmission, a convertible top and much more. These prizes are valued at $115,648. So far, the potential value of the main event is $227,773. (audience cheers)Thanks, Bill. Steve, as you know, collect all three medals, you'll win the Jeeps, the motorcycle, the chance to play Cookie Jar, *and* our cash jackpot of... (drum beats; cha-ching) (audience cheers)...$242,500. That's almost a quarter of a million dollars. As you know, you can build up the jackpot during the main event. Any roll of 2, 3, 11, or 12 is wild. That means we add $5000 to the pot -- and we give you the power to take any half medal. But when one lucky number remains, you must come up with a natural combination in a maximum of five attempts. Anytime your roll leads to half a medal that you've already captured, we'll add $2500 and let you roll again. But -- the downer -- any roll of 7 puts the main event... (danger zone cue; lights briefly flicker in certain parts of studio)...in the danger zone. That means any half medals you've collected will be at risk. The next roll of 7 means you end the main event with nothing. So at certain intervals I'll give you a chance to stop. (Doug hands dice to Steve) Clean house -- and you're assured of at least $482,398. (audience cheers)Good luck. We want to see you do this. Off you go. (audience cheers as...) (Steve rolls)There's a 6. (chime sfx)Half the bronze. Halfway to winning that Harley. Good luck and roll again. (audience cheers as...) (Steve rolls)And ya got a 5! (chime sfx)Halfway to the Cookie Jar game and a shot at $100,000 cash. (audience cheers as...) (Steve rolls) (danger zone cue; lights briefly flicker in certain parts of studio) (audience groans)Oopsah-doopsahs. Suddenly we have to stop and think. Steve, you're in the danger zone. The next roll of a 7 forfeits anything you've won. Now, you haven't formed any particular medals -- so no prizes or game chances are at stakes. But, I will offer you some cash in a chance to stop the game. If you stop now, you make take $1000 for each half medal you've collected. That's $2000 cash. Of course, if you play on, you'll get another chance to stop the game when you complete one of the medals. So what do you? Stop now and take $2000 or give back the money and roll onward? (audience shouts suggestions)

(audience cheers)I had a sneaking suspicion you wouldn't stop at $2000. Okay. Two large comes back to Mickey's house. Roll again, please. (audience cheers as...) (Steve rolls) (chimes; audience cheers) Hey now! A wild roll. (drum beats; cha-ching)Now then -- much happier decision after we've added $5000 to the top. You may turn this 11 into an 8 and complete the bronze medal for the motorcycle, call this wild roll a 9 and complete silver for a shot at 100 grand in Cookie Jar -- or call it a 4 or 10 and be halfway to winning the pair of Jeeps. (audience shouts suggestions)

(audience cheers)You've completed the silver. (chime sfx)Now -- Steve -- this creates an interesting situation. You've completed another medal. So you're allowed to stop. If you stop the main event, you win $1000 for each half medal -- including the completed silver -- that's a total of $3000. That's on top of whatever you win in the Cookie Jar game. In Cookie Jar, you could win $100,000. Then again, you could win -- say -- $5000. You might win -- 5000 -- pennies. Just saying. So -- you may stop here at least $3000 to the good. Or you may continue. Again if you play on, you'll get another chance to stop when you complete the gold or the bronze. What would you like to do? (audience shouts suggestions)
