(audience applause; theme plays) And we're back on Three on a Match. When last we left our champion, Kourtney had put $200 on the numbers 3 and 9... ...and that happened. We're on the brink of a big money moment. Kourtney, if you buy the number in the lower left, $50,000 is yours. Please resume -- and with any luck at all, end -- your buying spree.

Let’s start with number seven.

|
|
Post by dougmorrisontheair on Jul 8, 2024 7:13:24 GMT -5
Behind number 7, we find... (ding)...$6000. As you know, you may stop here, keep the $6000 or trade it in and try to find a higher award -- would that you find the 30 grand. Two tries left if you continue. (audience shouts suggestions)

|
Post by pathfinder20 on Jul 8, 2024 7:18:53 GMT -5
I will trade it in for number nine.

Six grand comes back to the house. Did you trade up? (ding) (audience cheers) I'd say so -- $10,000. Kourtney, what do you think? Take the $10,000 -- or trade it in for one more number? (audience shouts suggestions)

Let’s keep the $10K.

(audience cheers) Keeping the $10,000. Very well. If you were going to go for it, Kourtney, what number were you going to pick?

Let’s go with number five just for fun.

Post by dougmorrisontheair on Jul 9, 2024 16:23:22 GMT -5
Behind number 5, we had... (audience cheers)...just four grand. Where was the 30 grand? Number 6 in the lower right -- a number you hadn't bought. And there it was. With that, Kourney, you're up to... ...$145,940 -- and there's another chance to win more. Please head on back. (audience applause; theme plays) Okay, folks. Because this is a rematch, we're picking up where we left off on the categories. (ding)Three is a Magic Number -- the new category. They join the leftovers, Nashville Notes and General Info. Kourtney, which category would you like?

Going to our potpourri category for... (dings; audience cheers)...wowsers -- $90 and a doubler. With everything doubled, looks like someone's going to the grid right after this showdown. Players, good luck and away we go. 1. "Beagle Devour Beagle"
2. "Geddy Lee-Led Canadian Band"
3. "Pocket Monsters' Caretaker"
4. "Deceiving Result of Seven Divided by Seven: One George Lucas Space Opera Saga"
5. "Bozo's Saline Drops"
Kourtney and Matt, for each riddlegram, please PM me your answer and a buzzcode from 1-100.

1. "Beagle Devour Beagle" (Kourtney rings in)Doug: Kourtney? Kourtney: “Dog Eat Dog” Doug: That's it. pathfinder20 mringgenberg
Doug: Title of a Brooke Burns game show and a Ted Nugent hit song. On to the next riddlegram.
2. "Geddy Lee-Led Canadian Band"
(time passes) (buzz)
Doug: "Rush" -- the title of a Ron Howard movie. Kourtney still leads one-nil. Next riddlegram.
3. "Pocket Monsters' Caretaker"
(Kourtney rings in)
Doug: Kourtney?
Kourtney: “Pokémon Trainers”
Doug: Well -- we singularized the riddlegram and the champ gave a plural answer. But, even in quotes, let's check to be sure.
(time passes) (buzz)
Doug: That's what I was afraid of. "Caretaker" is another word for -- "Concierge". And we were going for the streaming series title "Pokémon Concierge". So the point goes to Matt, I'm afraid.
pathfinder20 mringgenberg
Doug: Tie ballgame at one. Next riddlegram.
4. "Deceiving Result of Seven Divided by Seven: One George Lucas Space Opera Saga"
(time passes) (buzz)
Doug: Oh, I thought you'd get this from at least the math problem and the George Lucas reference.
"Deceiving" is another word for "Rogue"; seven divided by seven results in "One"; and "One George Lucas Space Opera Saga" is another way of saying "A Star Wars Story".
Put it all together and you've got "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story". (scattered groans) So you're saying -- that new riddlegram format can't come soon enough. (scattered laughter from crowd) In any event, last one to break the day.
5. "Bozo's Saline Drops"
(Kourtney rings in)
Doug: Kourtney?
Kourtney: “Tears of a Clown.”
Doug: We will accept that.
(audience cheers)
Let me take a moment to clarify. Fans of Smokey Robinson & The Miracles know the group's hit song "The Tears of a Clown". However, Iron Maiden recorded a different song with the title "Tears of a Clown" -- and we've learned other professional works with "Tears of a Clown" without the "The" within the title. So we'd have to accept either way.
With that, Kourtney banks the doubled $90. We add in $20 a point instead of $10.
And, Kourtney, with $220, can't horde that money, we need to go to the grid now.
(ding)
Again, when a player banks at least $200 in total, the contestant must go to the grid. On this trip, there's a stop sign to watch out for.
Kourtney, good luck.

(ding) (scattered cheers) Double Dollars card. That and the international money symbols are still up there. Remember, there is another Double Dollars card in the $30 column and another in the $40 column. The stop sign is not obstructing Double Dollars.
