Greetings to one and to all. I hope this latest update finds you all well and in good spirits.
While it took longer than usual, I must confess, the "itch" is beginning to resurface, the itch to begin presenting a game again to you, the huddled masses.
Work stresses coupled with a great many unknowns about my physical health made me realize that I needed some time away from hosting.
I was gratified to see the poll question I had about how you felt if I were to resume my hosting duties and thus far the tally was 6 in favor of and 0 against.
I feel genuinely bad for the disruptive way I left before and that "dark cloud" hangs over me still.
Last Friday I had an annual physical with my primary care physician. I am waiting to hear back about my latest bloodwork, especially related to my A1C.
While the visit was a good one, I was rather dismayed that, in spite of eliminating ALL unhealthy food choices, I regained 12 pounds somehow!
As such, I have begun healthier exercise habits as I had become rather lax with walking for quite a while. I have resumed doing so this past week.
I have some mobility issues relative to my left leg. I can walk fine but getting up steps I have to put all my weight on my right leg then lift the left one up.
I have been forcing myself to try to use the left leg first. I can push up with it and get my right leg up on the same step but I have to be holding both a railing and with my other hand, steadying myself against my house in order to do so.
While I await my latest bloodwork results, I have a primary eye care annual exam upcoming a week from Tuesday, so I am anxious and also eager to see how that goes.
I go on July 12th for my next Eylea injection in my right eye for my diabetic retinopathy. The retinal specialist was rather encouraged with the progress in my right eye. The left eye has it too but not as bad. The first injection cleared it up some, but the last 2 injections seem to have made little to no difference in the left eye. If there is no improvement I very well may end up having to get the left eye injected too, but time will tell.
At the risk of discussing a rather sensitive topic, I will be vague. One of my greatest concerns is about the future in general. To that end, I seldom if ever listen to or read any news reports from the traditional sources. I have taken to (for some time now) listening to bloggers instead. I listen to a variety of them from the sublime to the ridiculous to get informed. Some are based in fact, some are very well thought out theories. The oversaturation of my mind listening to too many of them also elevated my anxiety levels to where it was affecting my work as well as my hosting and participation on the boards here.
To that end, I'm not listening to any updates, just putting the blinders on and trying to better control what I still can control, my physical and mental health and well being, as well as my job which I am super grateful to still have after over 5 years. With the possible exception of one of my co-workers, I feel fairly comfortable at the workplace.
So I have taken to watching game shows again, Pat Sajak's last week of shows, and have had my Mrs. taping Price is Right eps as well. I'm glad I had her doing that so I could see our own Immanuel Tmis on the show!
So right now I am in semi-limbo about if or when I will return. Another factor is this computer is almost 16 years old now that I use. It is so old that I'm unable to update browsers and am no longer able to use postimage.org for new uploads. I have been using tinypic but that only allows me to do one image at a time which can prove tedious.
I do have my laptop which still has postimage working on it, but all of my visuals, etc. are on this old computer. What other image sites do you guys use for your games outside of tinypic or postimage? Perhaps someone can guide me there.
Thank you for allowing me to share what's been going on with me, and inside this old noggin of mine. Your friendship and caring and patience and loyalty are ever so deeply and greatly appreciated, more so than I could ever adequately express in mere words.
Best to you all, now and always...
Bill
