Unfortunately, it's not the 1975 premiere episode of Wheel of Fortune. BUT! I don't know if you guys have ever seen clips from Wheel when they did the Ohio State Fair back in 1983, a whole month before the nighttime series started, but the only footage I could find is a black and white photo of it...until today. In my recommended videos tab...I found this: Considering I JUST found it and only saw a few seconds of it, I'll give my insight once I complete the video

You can watch the video yourselves, but I think it'd be interesting if we could discuss the video for a bit here. First off, Kevin if you see this, I challenge you to try and host this during your next Seasons run {SPOILER!} This was used primarily to promote the show's nighttime version which debuted a few weeks after this run.
I find it interesting that the audience chant and the '83-'89 theme was intact for this playthrough, I had read that Changing Keys started around this time.
Players are picked out of the audience from names out of a box, something the Armed Forces Daytime special of 1990 would do.
The puzzle board threw me for a loop, 10 trilons on 3 rows, with the border resembling that of the Woolery era, with "Wheel of Fortune" displayed on top. Seeing it completely different than the regular version is a little disorienting.
I like a head-to-head version of Wheel, with 2 players instead of 3 behind separate podiums. Very cool to say the least. No score displays however, which is odd.
Gameplay itself is also cool! If there's one way to do a junior version of Wheel that doesn't take ideas from Double Dare, it would probably be this one. The wheel consists of point values up to 100, and the players win a prize if they solve.
Vertical wheel, and trilons that spin by stagehands prematurely before Vanna can get a chance to get to them is an interesting point too!
But that's enough recapping for me, I'll let you guys watch for yourselves.
What do y'all think of it? Personally, dare I say it's a purty solid introduction in getting the word out about a new show!

{Spoiler} Also a VERY weird thing, vowels aren't brought, rather they earn money with each spin. I kind of like the idea of vowels being a luxury, especially considering they're so few and can take up a good chunk of a given puzzle

fixed links for the other two videos
and from my understanding, the 3 separate uploads are actually from the SAME airing (doing the typical Live Show deal of new players every puzzle to give more people a chance)

Thanks Smash! Also I apologize, I totally didn't mention that I got some of these from your post on Buy a Vowel :/ that'd explain it, clicking directly from the post on BAV instead of clicking to go to the actual YT video
forum software be silly like that
(edit) and i have some ideas of some things i might do with this stuff, including modifications relating to BigJon WOF involving the wheel (with an extra zero on all values) and the puzzleboard design

while this one isn't from the Ohio State Fair games, this is still the same news station as the 3 linked videos from before and it still involves Wheel
