Hello everybody.
I hope this latest "Newsletter" from me finds you all in good spirits and in good physical health too.
Last Wednesday, May 1st, I received my third injection of Eylea in my right eye. As you may recall, I am in need of these injections due to diabetic retinopathy.
The prognosis according to the retinal specialist seems to be positive thus far. I received my first injection back on February 28th. My second one was on April 3rd.
There was a vast improvement with the right eye between injections 1 and 2. There was also some improvement with my left eye as well as it's in both eyes, but the right eye was the worst of the two.
There was no significant improvement with the left eye when I went on May 1st but he said we will keep monitoring that. The right eye is improving though which is most reassuring.
As a result, I do not have to go back for my next injection now until July 5th, so a 2 month window instead of just 1.
And on June 25th I go back to my primary eye doctor and will see how things are going then too.
From what I've been told, if I keep my diabetes well in hand, I will eventually require fewer and fewer eye injections. I am doing my very best to keep it at bay as I left it go for far too long.
I still have some mobility issues due to my feet and my hips, but am able to walk fine. Going up and down steps proves a bit challenging, so I use ramps whenever and where ever I am able to.
Going up the hilly incline where I work proves easier with help of my cane.
As concerns about my eye health were very elevated earlier this year, my anxiety issues were also quite elevated. They have since been quelled quite considerably due to the promising prognosis of these treatments.
I am very blessed to have a sensational specialist working with me, very affordable co-payments, plus his office is very close to our home. My Mrs. drives me as it's very difficult for me to see after every visit due to having to have my eyes dilated.
Onto game show related things now...It's hard to fathom that we have only 25 more Wheel of Fortune episodes to go before Pat Sajak steps down as host, a gig he's held since September 1983 on the syndicated show and December 28, 1981 going back to when it still aired on NBC in the Daytime. I will be curious to watch his final weeks of shows and am also eager to see how things go with Ryan Seacrest at the helm come this September.
I also have been tinkering with an idea for a possible net game. While I am no longer actively hosting series on here, this won't preclude me from perhaps testing out a pilot idea every now and then. I also hope to perhaps watch more of your shows on here and perhaps take up the mantle of writing for some programs as well.
I will be doing a pilot episode in the Beta-Testing area of this site. I probably will not be using any fancy visuals or graphics, just text most likely.
I will be doing a separate post in the Net Game Announcements section momentarily to explain the idea I have for this possible new net game.
All I will say is it combines elements of three other classic game shows, one Goodson-Todman show and two Heatter-Quigley shows.
Thank you for taking the time to read these updates and for understanding why I felt it necessary to relinquish being a full time host/celebrity/contestant on these boards.
With warmest regards and deepest gratitude,
Bill M.
