O it was on this very date, April 24th way back in 1978 when Card Sharks debuted on NBC TV as part of its game show daytime line up. This was hosted by the late great Jim Perry.
Also on this date, a new version of High Rollers began hosted by another Canadian hosting legend, the late, great, Alex Trebek.
The original High Rollers also on NBC ran beginning July 1st 1974. Hard to fathom High Rollers 50th birthday is coming up in a little over 2 months from now.
The original H.R. began the Monday after NBC's Three On A Match (a game very near and dear to me) went off the airwaves after 3 years.
These two sensational game shows continue to thrive here on NetGameCentral. I have no doubt that Mark Goodson and Bill Todman, Merrill Heatter and Bob Quigley as well as Jim Perry and Alex Trebek would all be pleased to know that their legacy shows continue to be played, enjoyed and celebrated...
