And now, back with the second half of "Gambit P.M.", here's Bill McDee! (applause) That's me! Welcome back to the second half of Gambit P.M. During this segment, we're going to determine who our new champion will be and Lynn, you're holding something special over there, aren't you? As a matter of fact I am indeed Uncle Bill. This is a Power Marker! Our sister shows Catch 21 and daytime Gambit use Power Chips. Our sister show High Rollers uses Insurance Markers. Since this is Gambit P.M., we are introducing something called Power Markers, P.M., get it? The winner of each of the first two games of the match will earn one Power Marker. Game one's Power Marker can be used during the "Beat the Dealer" game or they may carry it over and use it during game two if necessary, thus giving a slight advantage to the winner of game #1. If Power Markers are not used during the match, they may be carried over to the Gambit Board. The power marker must be used by you but only, I repeat only, when you are dealt a card that would put you over 21. After Lynn takes back the marker, she will deal you the very next card. So since Matt won game #1, Lynn will hand you that marker right now. And here now is the first card to begin game 2 of our match... For a 5 of hearts players... The National Football League has been comprised of 32 teams since the start of the 2002 season. Which of these franchises is known as "America's Team"? Wow, Matt had an 11, but Frank with big Boxcars gets the question!

The 5 is yours, and here's our next question... "Physical" was number 1 on the charts longer than any other song in the '80s. What is the name of the singer? Frank, you've got the high number again.

Correct for another $100! Next card please Lynn... It's a 9... And a total of 14. (Merrill Heatter on the loudspeaker): Bill? The voice from above. Yes Mister Heatter? Merrill Heatter (on speaker): You neglected to tell our contestants about the Any 21 Jackpot and the prize for Game #2. Bill: Indeed I did. Thank you for the reminder sir! I'm 48 and he's 88 and he is twice as sharp as me! In my delight and excitement about telling you about our new feature, the power markers, at the start of our game, I neglected to tell our players the prize up for grabs and what the Any 21 jackpot is worth this game. Frank, before I get your decision about whether you wish to freeze or continue, be advised, Any 21 this game will win... (CLANG) $2,000, and a 2 card 21... (CLANG CLANG) $4,000. It seems the lights are not working for the "TWO-CARD 21" sign. What a comedy of errors! (laughing a bit) And now, my apologies to Frank Caliendo as I'm doing this way out of order, what's the prize being awarded for the winner of game #2 tonight? picosong.com/9LQ9/Frank Caliendo (as Kenny Williams): It's an inflatable raft! Frank Caliendo (as Kenny Williams): From Azzuro Mare, the AM330 inflatable 11 foot dinghy takes up to a 15 HP short shaft outboard motor and can carry up to 4 people maximum. Comes with FREE tube covers. Frank Caliendo (as Kenny Williams): One-thousand, two-hundred dollars, and now back to Bill! Bill: Thank you Frank, and thank you again Mr. Heatter! Now back to our other Frank, Mr. Driscoll. You have a 14. Since the next card could put you over, I'll ask you if you wish to freeze at 14 or continue to play on. I'll remind you that if you freeze, Matt will need to come up with at least 2 correct answers to beat the 14. Also if you elect to play on Frank, you will not be given the option to freeze again until you receive another card. What do you want to do Frank, freeze or continue?

Wilbur is correct for another $100 Frank. Fearing that he will go over 21, Frank has elected to pass this card. Did he make the right gambit here Lynn? Show us! (Audience members scream in disbelief) OH FRANK!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh Frank, you had a 21 right in your grasp! A HUGE break for Matt! But you never know, this still may work out for you Frank! Next toss-up question... JACLYN SMITH, KATE JACKSON AND FARRAH FAWCETT-MAJORS WERE THE FIRST THREE ACTRESSES TO PORTRAY A TEAM OF YOUNG FEMALE DETECTIVES ON A VERY POPULAR ABC PRIMETIME PROGRAM WHICH DEBUTED DURING THE 1970S. WHAT WAS THE TITLE OF THAT PROGRAM? Matt, your answer please, and also indicate if you wish to keep or pass the next card.

Charlie's Angels is RIGHT! (applause) Now Matt is trying to put Frank over 21 and win this game, and the match. Frank, if this next card is an 8 or higher, Matt Ringgenberg will become the new Gambit P.M. champion and go on to play the Gambit Board for a chance at thousands of dollars more in cash plus a new automobile. Lynn, please show us what Frank's next card is.... Now!!! (more screams of disbelief from the audience) Oh my!!! So Frank, obviously that Ace must count as 1 and not 11. That now gives you a score of 15. Very precarious position you are in here. Do you wish to freeze at 15 or continue playing, knowing that the next card you receive could put you over and cost you this game and the match?

Yes, that's a pickle you're in right now Frank. Darned if you do darned if you don't. Let's see how it plays out. Crazy game! Next question... A YOUNG WOMAN NAMED DONNA WAS INVOLVED IN A SCANDAL INVOLVING FORMER PRESIDENTIAL HOPEFUL GARY HART. HE IS A HALL OF FAME WIDE RECEIVER WHO SPENT MOST OF HIS CAREER WITH THE SAN FRANCISCO FORTY-NINERS. WHAT LAST NAME DO THESE TWO PEOPLE SHARE? Matt, your answer please and please also indicate if you wish to keep or pass the next card.

Rice is Right! (applause) Sounds like another CBS game show doesn't it? Another $100 for Matt. Frank, Matt has elected to pass once again. If this next card is a 7 or more, sorry to say you'll be headed out the door. A 6, and you'll win the game, tie the match and win a $2,000 jackpot too. Anything less, and I'll once again require a decision from you. Lynn, now that the stage is set, let's find out right now, is Matt going to the Gambit Board, or will the game continue? It WILL Continue!!!!!!! (wild screams and cheering in the audience) Wow! Once again I reiterate the Gambit P.M. rules vary from the daytime show. When a player receives a card that puts them in the lead, or keeps them in the lead, they have the option to freeze or continue, and Frank, believe it or not, you once again have the option. Is 19 enough for you?

FREEZE!!! I can't take the pressure!!!

Post by billmcdee on Jun 1, 2015 13:54:07 GMT -5
This has been quite a game, and it isn't over yet either. Now the pressure is all on Matt. Matt, you will need to answer at least 2 questions, and with the way all these small cards are coming up maybe more, in order to win this game and match. Three reminders, 1. You need a 20 or 21 to win. If you get to 19 you must win another question and draw another card. 2. One incorrect answer or one missed deadline (48 hours from the time the question is posted) and Frank will tie up the match. 3. If needed, you have your power marker. Again that can only be used if you receive a card that would put you over 21. Here is the next question Matt... In October 1986, Reagan & Gorbachev went face to face in the capital city of Reykjavik. Matt, for $100 and another card, in which country is this city located?

Well done again Matt! (applause) And not unlike "The Joker's Wild", knowledge is King and Lady Luck is Queen around here too! A 7 or an 8 wins you the game and the match Matt. If the next card is 9 or above, you will lose your Power Marker and be dealt the very next card. Lynn, whatcha got for us this time sweetie? (more screams of disbelief echo throughout the Bob Barker studio, as I'm seen tossing the question cards in the air) So Frank, how are you liking this pressure? (laughing) Who will win this game? Tune in tomorrow!!! No, we'll continue now.... Matt... The 1990s film "Truth or Dare" was about which pop singer who is still active today?

(audience screaming and going hysterical now) This game has gone on for so long, Lynn has moved into her final trimester!!! Next question....I'm getting hoarse here LOL! Huey, Dewey and Louie were the three nephews of what famous cartoon character Matt?

Right once again Matt! (applause) And you thought "500 Questions" dragged on?!?!?! Lynn, I know I sound like a broken record...next card, please... picosong.com/fTwB/TOO MUCH! And the game FINALLY goes to Frank!!! picosong.com/3zeF/$950 plus the inflatable raft, all yours Frank! Lynn has quickly cleared the boards and we'll play the Tie-breaker. Just one card for each player, high card wins the match. Ace is high, tens and face cards are all worth 10. Both players will receive $100 multiplied by their card. Frank, since your win in game #2 caused the tiebreaker, you get to make the decision. Frank, do you want to keep the first card or pass it to Matt and keep the second card?

Very well, the first card will go to Matt. (audience oohs & aahs) An Ace will win it for you Frank, Lynn? It's a 5, Matt Ringgenberg, you've just won the match! picosong.com/3zeF/And what a long but sensational match it was! Frank, I truly hated to see either of you lose, $500 more for that 5 of Diamonds, you did quite well for yourself here, $3,350! Frank Driscoll everybody! (applause) Matt $1,000 for that Jack and this prize for winning the match, Frank? Frank Caliendo (as Kenny Williams in hurry up mode): It's a year's supply of gasoline. Shell Oil Company is providing you with a $75 gas card every week for one full year! With gas prices constantly in flux, having these will give the consumer peace of mind, courtesy of Shell, $3,900. Matt's headed to the Gambit Board and he may very well win a new automobile to put that gas in, when we return! Great match gentlemen!

We're running very short on time here, we used 23 cards during that match, almost half the deck believe it or not! Matt, we have a new deck of 52 playing cards. I'll ask you to cut them at this time. Select a number higher than 0 but lower than 52 and we can proceed. While he's doing that, just a quick reminder $12,000 in the Any 21 Jackpot, do it with just 2 cards and win double or $24,000. And no matter what, you'll get a chance to play for the car.
