You get this box, you will indeed have the win with Tic Tac Dough, $3,500, and take Game 1 of the match. Here's your question:
The 1912 U.S. Presidential Election saw a third-party entry to challenge Republican nominee William Howard Taft and Democrat nominee Woodrow Wilson. The Bull Moose Party candidate effectively split the vote, which gave Wilson a convincing electoral college victory. For Tic Tac Dough, $3,500 and Game 1, name the Bull Moose candidate.

Disney to start us off. Here's your question: In 1988, Disney released an animated feature about a stray cat in New York City who meets a streetwise dog, his friends and their owner, whom all help him in his quest to find a home. The movie is loosely based on an 1838 Charles Dickens novel. For your first O, name the movie.

Where Are You? in the center. It's a bit tougher, so you'll get some extra time. I'm in a Japanese prefecture and I just finished seeing the famous Tosho-gu shrine which honors the first shogun of the Tokugawa Shogunate. I've got to catch a taxi, though; I have tickets at Mazda Zoom-Zoom Stadium to see the Carp play the Giants in baseball. First, tell me what prefecture I'm in, and second, tell me the religion associated with places like the Tosho-gu shrine.
*90 TTD think music* What are your answers, Bill?

Tokyo I believe is the prefecture.
And the religion Shinto.

*bzzzzzzzt, audience awwws*
Shinto is correct, but the prefuncture we were looking for is Hiroshima. That's where Mazda Zoom-Zoom Stadium is. Let's shuffle with $500 still in the pot.
*90 TTD shuffle chimes, 90 TTD stop dings*
Back to you, Matt.

Disney it is. Here's your question.
Disney's 1943 animated movie The Three Caballeros was their second film commissioned by the US Department of State as a goodwill piece to Latin America. It starred three characters: Donald Duck, Panchito Pistoles the rooster and a cigar-toting green Brazilian parrot whom debuted in the previous year's animated film Saludos Amigos. For the box, give me the parrot's full name.

We'll see if this question is a total slam dunk for you or a complete airball. *audience laughs* In the category of basketball:
This NBA team, founded in 1968, has had two championships in their history. One was in 1971, when Hall of Famers Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robertson led them to the title over the Baltimore Bullets. The other was in 2021, with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton powering them to a win over the Phoenix Suns. Name the team.

Here's your question on the subject of Disney:
This 1986 animated feature based on the books of Eve Titus features a character named Basil, whom, with his new assistant Dawson, help a little girl named Olivia find her father and foil the plans of Professor Ratigan. For the box, name the movie.

I am in a frightening spot indeed, only appropriate that I'll need to try SCARY THINGS for a diagonal block.

Post by samthebravesfan on Dec 27, 2023 20:57:50 GMT -5
For the crucial block, here's a two-part question on Scary Things: Greek mythology has a lot of scary monsters, and I'll describe some. Then, you identify them. First: these monsters were three sisters: Stheno, Euryale, and Medusa. They were commonly depicted as having snakes instead of human hair and visages so horrifying that anyone who looked at them turned to stone.
Second: This monster had the front legs and head of a lion, but it's back had a goat's head protruding from it and its tail was a venomous snake. Despite its ability breathe fire, It was ultimately killed by the hero Bellerophon.
Here's your extra time *90 TTD think theme* For the block, what are your answers, Bill?

If you get this, you will indeed have the win, and $2,500 in cash. You will also have Game 2 in the match. Here's your question:
This former player, whom was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1987, still has the career record for points per game in college basketball with 44.2 for Louisiana State University. He played for the Hawks, Jazz and Celtics in the NBA and was known for his flashy moves on offense which gave him his nickname: Pistol Pete. For Tic Tac Dough, $2,500 and Game 2, name him.
