Warmest greetings of the holiday season one and all.
For the next 5 days starting today (Monday, December 4th) through Friday, December 8th, I am in need of a temporary hosting hiatus.
I am hoping and anticipating that I will be able to pick up things on Saturday, December 9th.
In addition to my daytime job and many other things to do at home, including preparing for Christmas, I have two appointments this week.
Friday, December 8th I have an early afternoon appointment with a retinal specialist.
In addition to having a posterior cataract in my right eye, I also have what seems to be mild diabetic neuropathy in that eye as well.
Since early July I have taken major steps in my life to reduce my A1C which was above 10 down to below 7 by the end of late October.
Changes in diet, some exercise and an over the counter product that I take on a regular basis have all helped toward my goal of getting my A1C below 7.
Additionally, I have lost 20 pounds since March of this year. It may be more but I have not gotten on the scale in quite some time.
Long story short (or short story long in this case), I believe that this visit to the retinal specialist is for a preliminary exam and to discuss possible treatment about the growing challenges I have had seeing properly through my right eye. My primary eye doctor said this may require injections in my eye. I am hoping it will not come to that, but if it does, I am not entirely certain whether the first injection will take place during my first visit or not, if indeed injections will be required at all.
I am experiencing zero eye pain at least, and I am still able to see fairly normally and drive, etc. But due to all of the above reasons, plus to perhaps give my eye a "rest", I'll be taking hopefully no more than a 5 day mini hosting hiatus here. And as always of course, should things change one way or the other, I will be posting updates as need be.
In the meantime, any other games I am involved in as a player or celebrity player I will continue to avail myself for that.
It's a very good life lesson to relearn, that we take so many things for granted, including healthy vision and hearing among others.
Warmest regards and deepest appreciation,
Bill
