Inspirational motivation speaker and coach Anthony Robbins once spoke of a wealthy businessman. And while I forget what the gentleman's name was, he said to Anthony "The key to being truly wealthy is to live each and every day with an attitude of gratitude." That is what this holiday is all about. Being thankful for who we have and what we have while we have them, as well as being thankful for who and what we used to have.
As the old saying goes "Do not cry because it is over, laugh because it happened." That's another nice way of phrasing the advice to focus on the happy memories made with those who are no longer in our lives due to death or other circumstances.
One of my favorite song lyrics comes from the hit by Chicago "Hard Habit To Break". The line says "You don't know what you've got until it's gone..."
The longer I live the more I appreciate each and every blessing I have. Setbacks in this life help us to better appreciate when things go well, or as my Mom used to so often say "You have to learn to take the bad with the good."
If I were to sit here and list all of the people and all of the things in my life, both past and present, that I am thankful for, I'd end up typing a couple of hundred thousand words. One thing I am very grateful for is the family of friends and acquaintances I have made here at Net Game Central. Some of us are the "old timers" from the day's of Big Jon's site, and several who are here are ones who came aboard once this site launched.
I am reluctant to name names for I fear I will leave out somebody and I do not want to do that. But to each and every one of you who I have had the pleasure of interacting with, and hopefully "entertaining" you as well with the various games I have hosted, I am very grateful to you and for you.
I wish one and all as well as your loved ones a most blessed, safe, and joyous Thanksgiving and may you all be blessed many times over during this upcoming holiday season.
With deepest gratitude,
Bill M.
