Greetings, all.
Today's date (10/29) has been circled on the calendar for some time.
Wheel of Fortune Live is going to be in Hattiesburg tonight for a show. I bought my tickets months ago.
It was later reveal Bob Goen will hosted tonight. Many of you remember him when he hosted the daytime version of WOF when it went to CBS and, briefly, back to NBC.
I've since asked for and received time off from the radio stations ('twas a little easy; I've worked extra on some unrelated projects). So I'm planning to post photos from @dougmorrisgames on Instagram.

Sensational! I hope you get to meet and greet Bob too. He, like Jim Peck, was a great host who deserved a much better shake, but that's show biz unfortunately.

Mornin', all. The theater and WOF Live asked everyone not to record video and shoot photos during the show. So I respected that.
With that said, it was a spectacular show (even if I didn't get chosen to be a contestant).
Bob didn't miss a step. It was as if he's still hosting the daytime show and it's still in production. The express wedge and mystery wedge weren't a thing when he hosted. "Surprise", representing a popcorn machine in one game, was on the wheel.
The "bankrupt/$10,000/bankrupt" space is on WOF Live -- but treated like the million dollar space nowadays. If you land on the middle part and find a consonant, the good side of the space goes into your bank. Solve the puzzle correctly and you'd need to hang on to it through the championship game for a chance to play for up to $10,000 cash in the bonus round. If for whatever reason the space goes unclaimed, the bonus is played for up to $5000 cash.
Someone got control of the $10K space -- only to lose it in stumbling on the express.
They played three games total. The winners of the first two games competed against a third player chosen totally at random. So, "the wild card player" has a chance to defeat the Game 1 and Game 2 winners. And in last night's case, that's what happened.
The Vanna White of the night was Daisy Wang, an Australian native and a co-host of the radio show "Asia Pop 40". She got to announce the categories as the puzzle appeared. How cool was that? (Hope Vanna gets to this next season when Ryan starts hosting.)
I forget who was announcing. It was a cast member from "Better Call Saul".
Overall, a night well spent. If WOF Live is rolling into your town or close to it, take advantage!

Oh, uh, one more thing, a crossword puzzle and Same Letter were part of last night -- elements that were also not in the Bob Goen era of Daytime WOF. No problems there, too. What a pro.
Okay, getting back to the norm at NGC ASAP.
