Another pilot I should try out. It’s a game based in the United Kingdom!

I actually watched that today too.
I thought it was a terrific format.
I loved how it was like Pyramid as it had two front games, 3 rounds each, and 2 end games.
I loved too how it was like Pyramid in that the civilians changed partners for the 2nd game of the day.
The use of the "WILD" for the third round was really awesome too I thought.
It was fun to play along with. Word games are by far my favorite.

You should watch the UK version. It'll take me awhile to wrap my head around that.

Oh I have seen episodes of it, but quite a while ago. They also have math questions and they just play for "bragging rights" and a dictionary on that version.
At least those episodes I watched anyway, maybe now it's for cash though.

If you’re going to Americanize "Countdown", that’s one way to do it. It definitely had a "Pyramid" vibe to it.
It is worth noting the British game show is based on a French game show -- "Des chiffres et des lettres" (literal translation: "Numbers and Letters"). The French show has been on the air since the mid-1960s.
How I would've produced: No celebs, throw in "maths" (British term)/numbers games, and a conundrum. Higher scorer wins the game and plays one speed round (similar to the pilot) for at least $10K or a progressive jackpot.
If "Countdown" ever came to our shores, not that I’m holding my breath, I’d love to see Danica McKellar handle the numbers games segments of the show. She’s authored books about math and would be a wizard at arithmetic.

Danika would be the next Vanna, only she's be turning both letters AND numbers!
