Two board games make a fantastic return as net games here on NGC.
First, Outburst. A game of verbal explosion where two teams vie to best one another in three rounds of play. First round is the Outburst Round, where 2 topics are laid out for the players to go through. Each list has 10 items relating to the topic. Players go back and forth guessing items on the list, earning 25 bucks per answer. If they name an answer not on the list, they get a strike, and 3 strikes knocks them out as well as the topic's list. However, if they complete the list, they get a bonus 100 dollars tacked on to their score. Second round is Reverseburst, where I give the items and the players must guess what the topic is. First 7 items guessed correctly are worth $300, 8th is $150, 9th is $75, and 10th is worth 25 dollars. Players can get a clue relating to the topic at the cost of about 75 dollars. The final round is Challengeburst, where players bid on how many items they can guess in the topic's list (3 max). If they can guess within 4, they get $150 per item, within 7, it's $50 per item, and if they bid the full list, they get 25 dollars per item. If a team incorrectly guesses 3 times, the contract is void and the other team gets a change to finish the contract. At the end of it all, the players with the highest score moves on to the bonus round, The Big List! Each item on the list is worth 1000 dollars. Wrong answers count as a strike, and 3 strikes and the game ends, with the total earned in that round counting toward their score, and an increase toward the final bonus jackpot (bonus starts at 5,000, increasing by 500 dollars each time unclaimed). If a team is successful, they earn the total amount from the list plus the bonus jackpot. If unsuccessful, they return for another day in an attempt to reach the bonus round again.
Stage II:
3 players vie for a cash and prizes worth up to $150,000 dollars by wagering on questions as well as guessing the common bond between the answers. Players are given 200 dollars to start off, and before each quiz (not question), they must ante up 20 dollars and the host will ante up 40 dollars from the Stage Bank. After anteing up, players can either add to the bank from their current score, or choose to stand where they are. Each question is worth 25 dollars, and players can vie for a chance after 3 answers are revealed to advance to "Stage II" and guess what the answers' bond is and steal the bank. If they are successful, they add the bank to their overall score. If not, they will lose 50 dollars in their overall total. If they fall into negative territory, they can call for a loan of about 50 dollars maximum, however, at the end of the round, the loan will be collected from that player's overall score at that point. Lowest score by the end of the round will be eliminated. Second round, question values double, but the rules still remain the same. At the end of the second round, the player with the highest score moves onto the final round, Stage III. The player must conquer 5 levels, each with 2 questions and a common link between the answers. The first two levels are worth 25,000 dollars, the remaining 3 levels after that are worth prizes, with the final prize either being a car or vacation. If a player cannot complete a level, then the rewards collected from that point will be what the winner will take, or if the player cannot finish past the first level, they will be given a great prize package nonetheless. There will be no returning champion format, although the top scorers after 13 eps (if I get that far) will move on to the Tournament of Champions.
EDIT: One additional thing I forgot to mention on Outburst, is the addition of the Pass Chip. If there is a topic on the board a team is unconfident in, they can use one chip to change it. The catch is that if they change the topic, they must immediately take the new topic. Also, there is the bonus item. If a team can correctly guess this item, they will get the value multiplied by either 2 or 3 times. This is only available during the Outburst round as well
