The Dawn of a new era

Today, Monday, September 25th 2023, CBS will air the 52nd season premiere of "The Price is Right".

This will be the first time since the show's inception well over half a century ago that the program will take place in a place other than The Bob Barker Studio, formerly Studio 33, at CBS Television City in Hollywood.

I have been highly anticipating this first episode to see how different things look.  From the few pictures I was able to see, you can see a few differences but overall they stayed tried and true to the look and the layout the show has had since day 1.

I sadly can't watch the episode live. The show over on the West Coast starts at 10:00, I'll have just been dismissed from class at that point.

Definitely gonna stream it though! Here's to a great 52nd season!

Not to spoil anything, but aside from the few changes made for the new studio, it still feels like The Price is Right. Kudos to the people who worked so hard behind the scenes to bring it all together!

As evidenced by the new opening, it looks like the show is finally breaking free from Bob Barker's shadow and forging a brand-new identity under Drew Carey. I still find it a coincidence (and a sad one at that) that the show left Studio 33 and he passed away in the same summer. I'm just wondering what they'll do for what would've been his 100th birthday; probably a rerun of that tribute to him that they did the week after he died, but then, who knows? Even in the new place, his spirit will surround us loyal fans and true for many years to come. Also, how long will it be before they name the new studio after Drew?

Here's to a wonderful new season at Haven Studios, and may this show see 52 more!
