At the risk of plugging myself, I'm specifying my version of $ale with my name, but the title will just be "$ale of the Century" and mine will be "syndicated" vs. being on a network, since Immanuel Tims' version is on NBC already.
Some key differences to my version of the game.
1. Instant Bargains.
As before, the player in the lead will have a chance to win a prize at a highly discounted price.
The catch is, they will be required to select from one of 4 letters in the word "SALE".
One card will say "No Sale"
One will say "Giveaway", meaning the player will win the prize and not lose any money at all.
One will say "$5" or "$10" depending on if it's the first or second instant bargain.
One will say "$5" & Surprise or "$10" & Surprise, meaning the player will lose 5 or 10 dollars from their score but win the prize plus a cash bonus ranging from $500 to $1,000.
Another change is if two or more players are tied when an instant bargain comes up, two or all three of them will be required to play it however, two or all three players will be allowed to select the same letter in "SALE" if they wish to.
The third Instant Bargain is Instant Cash. For this game, the 4 cards hidden by the 4 letters in SALE will be:
"Giveaway" meaning the player gets to try for the instant cash without losing any money from their score
$15 or Lead, meaning it will cost the player either $15 or the amount of their lead, whichever is lower.
Lead, meaning it will simply cost the amount of their lead to play for it.
No Sale meaning the game will not be played.
Instant Cash will have 3 numbered boxes, one with $2,500 one with $500 and one with $250.
It grows by $500 per show until it is won by at least one player.
FAME GAME:
9 numbers on the board, $10 money card during the first one, add a $15 money card for the second and a $25 for the third and final fame game.
I'm going to ask a simple question about a famous person, either living or dead. The first player to ring in with the right answer wins a pick of the fame game board.
Non "money card" prizes will all be cash amounts, ranging from $500 up to $1,250.
SPEED ROUND:
10 questions at $5 per question. Only the current champion and one of the two challengers who is in the lead at the time will play it.
For any challengers who do not win, they will be paid $25 per "dollar" on their scoreboard at the end of the game.
The player with the highest score plays the winner's board for a chance at one of 10 grand prizes.
I hope to be able to start my pilot episode with this experiment this week.
Best,
Bill
