After a long hiatus, this show is ready to make a triumphant return!
If you read my post in the Announcements tab regarding my fall lineup, you'll note that for this new season of $ale, I've resorted to a more definition style of questioning. I'll read off a definition, and the players must guess the word I'm defining from a list of eleven words. Doing that awards money.
Other than that, it's still your favorite bargain show, where a bargain hunter can earn a fortune.
Since this episode is a continuation of both the pilot and the spring premiere, the same bonus prizes are used, albeit without the $20,000, and the Instant Cash Jackpot is increased to $3,000.
I think that's about it. Mike Foy is our current champion, who has $22,089 in cash and prizes. I need him to check in.
I'll implement a rule used in my Wheel of Fortune, a player who we've seen on the last show who isn't the champion cannot play, they must sit on their hands and give someone else a chance to play. That being said, both Nels and Kevin have to sit this one out. Anyone else is fair game.
So, I need Mike, and 2 challengers, and all 3 players PLEASE submit 35 buzzcodes to my inbox upon signing up. Thank you very much!

Count me in. I'm guessing the buzz codes all should be higher than 0 and lower than 101?

(Drumroll)
Shadoe: This is our current champion Mike Foy. So far, he already won cash and prizes totaling...
$22,089! (Cheers) (Theme) Today on $ale of the Century...we're gonna give away...
A tranquility pod!
A trip to New Zealand!
Or a new 2023 Camaro! And continue a journey towards a fortune in cash and prizes! In total, over...
$141,000 here on...
(echoes)
$ale of the Century!
(Cheers)
And now...here's your host of The New $ale of the Century, Immanuel Tims!
(I walk from the center stage doors, the stagehands close behind me and I knock on it's wall for luck, cheers)
Hello, one and all, good morning folks! It's another day of sales, bargains, cash, prizes, and hopefully fun here on NBC at $ale of the Century! When last we met, we crowned a new champion. He was already mentioned at the top of our program, but who wasn't mentioned at the top of the program is my lovely co-host, Ms. Alexis Guabe!
(Cheers)
Alexis! How are you, miss ma'am?
Alexis: I feel great! I had my breakfast and morning coffee, so I should be awake for the half hour!
(Scattered laughter)
Too bad I didn't have mine. You may have to host halfway through the program.
(More laughter)
Alexis: I can hopefully live with that. Shouldn't be too bad of a deal, in fact!
But the sun woke me up on my way to the studio. Just enough for me to ask you to introduce today's competetors!
Alexis: I can do that! First, we have an order-entry clerk from Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania, meet Bill McDee!
Next, is a supermarket clerk from Council Bluffs, Iowa...meet Matt Ringgenberg!
Finally, a college student from Thunder Bay, Ontario, who currently has $22,089 in cash and prizes to his name...it's Mike Foy!
(Cheers)
A well-rounded group to be sure! Bill, I'll start with you, welcome to the show! Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania. Didn't know Washington crossed through Pennsylvania!
(Laughter)
Bill, how much of a ways is that from Pittsburgh?

Post by billmcdee on Sept 3, 2023 5:52:41 GMT -5
It's about 325 miles east of Pittsburgh. Yes, General George Washington and his Revolutionary War troops camped and had hardships galore during the winter of 1776 at Valley Forge, another town in Pennsylvania. The war was not going well at all for us, and General Washington devised a plan to attack Trenton New Jersey on Christmas night and took the British and their German mercenaries, the Hessians, by surprise the following morning. Near where I live is where the crossing of the Delaware River took place, and incidentally I was born in Trenton, New Jersey almost 57 years ago. Every Christmas day actors re-enact the famous crossing which proved a most pivotal turning point in our nation's history. This picture depicts the crossing. The man behind General Washington holding the flag was James Monroe, who would go on to become our 5th President. And Monroe was injured during the Battle of Trenton.

(Applause)
So cool to live near such a historic landmark! I love out in plain ol’ Los Angeles, with celebrities and crazy people.
(Laughter)
So as you can see, lots of history by where I live. Nice to have you hear Bill, what do you do for a living?

Matt Ringgenberg's with us. You're a supermarket clerk, so I assume you work the register, right?

*laughter* Well, since I'm at a university, you're technically calling me smart. Good luck in your studies, and in our game today. Without further ado, gentlemen, we'll begin our game! A'lexis, could you start us off please? A'lexis: I sure will! Fellas, here's $20 to start off! Good luck!
*applause, ding* That's the least you guys can win in today's match. Now, to increase those scores, you gotta match some word to their definitions. I introduce to you all the word wall: 11 words up here, I have 5 definitions. You guys' job is to match the definition to one of the words on this wall. Doing so awards $5, an incorrect answer deducts 5. We have...minute (pronounced my-newt), Consider, Commit, Caraway, Issue, Practice, Intend, Accord, Evident, Concern, and Suffrage. We may or may not use all 11 words before the round is over. Without further ado, here's the first definition: "The right to vote in an election". Which word fits the definition, fellas? Bill: 5 Matt: 57 Mike: 64 Buzzcode: 1 *Bill buzzes in* Bill!

Evident.

Post by babytims on Sept 5, 2023 23:25:56 GMT -5
Evident is right! *ding* *school bell* And that sound means that it is officially time for our very first offer of the day, an Instant Bargain. I present a prize to the person in the lead, which in this case is Bill, and he has the option of buying said prize at a bargain price, but this is only for him! Bill, I want you to take a long, hard look, at this! *prize cue* Alexis: Bill, this is a superb dinner service from the famous English china manufacturer ROYAL ALBERT in the fabulous and ever popular OLD COUNTRY ROSES pattern. Designed in 1962 by Harold Holdcroft utilizing both rich and soft colours, combining lush deep red roses with the warmth from the tea roses, alongside the delicacy from the blush pink - all softened by a wash of green. Normally, this tea set sells for...$976! But here on Sale of the Century, it can be yours for just...
$5!
*cheers*
Ooh Bill, just think of all the tea parties you can have with your little stuffed animals if you buy this!
*laughter*
I gotta ask, Bill, are you a tea drinker?
|
|
|
Post by billmcdee on Sept 6, 2023 5:19:20 GMT -5
Actually I am. I figure it's the least I can do for those Revolutionary patriots who threw that tea party in Boston back in the day.
