Rest in peace, Bob. You were definitely the W.G.M.C.

Bob, you will always be one my greatest game show hosts of all time. We are certainly going to be celebrating your life throughout the year.

I'm so deeply sorry to hear that. Bob Barker was the one reason I love watching game shows since 1974 (I was born a during the show's second season). My thoughts, prayers, and condolences go out to the Barker family as well as his friends.

I can't begin to tell you how often I have thought about a certain celebrity only to have them pass away on that very same day.
And just a few short hours ago I was watching some old Price is Right episodes on youtube.
With his passing, Bob has become one the last of the true legendary game show/quiz show emcees to leave this world. I still consider Wink Martindale to be among the greatest of the all time greats.
There still live some former or soon to be former hosts who are with us that date back to the 1960s to the early 1980s, Peter Marshall, Chuck Woolery, Pat Sajak & Vanna White to name just a few.
I just learned of this from my wife moments ago and talk about a jaw dropper.
And yet it seems almost fitting somehow that he should pass within less than a month of the first new "Price" episode to not air at the Bob Barker Studio.
I have no doubt that the show will do a very loving tribute to the man, the myth and the legend.
I take comfort in knowing that he is, after 42 years, at long last reunited with his beloved wife Dorothy Jo.
In the immortal words of another Bob, to you Mr. Barker we say "Thanks for the memories".

And just a few short hours ago I was watching some old Price is Right episodes on youtube. What's crazier, I was listening to a compilation of classic Barker-era music cues that the show used just yesterday, on my way home. Wild stuff

Yet another well-known person falls short of 100. First Zsa Zsa Gabor, then Betty White, and now this guy; needless to say, today will go down as the saddest day of my life. (And former President Jimmy Carter may not make it either, but that's another story.) I was fortunate to spend my first 31 years watching Bob on The Price is Right, and now I hope Drew Carey continues to maintain his legacy for as long as he can, especially as the show begins its first season somewhere other than Studio 33.
I also find it ironic that the WGMC passed away in the same summer that TPIR left the Bob Barker Studio. I'm going to expect CBS to air a tribute to him in the next several weeks. Somewhere out there, Bill Cullen, Dennis James and Tom Kennedy are welcoming their old friend to catch up on their "Priceless Memories" (alluding to the title of Barker's book).

We all knew this day was coming. After Betty White came just short of 100, Bob goes at the same age as well. Regardless of his baggage, Bob Barker was the best of the best. Imagine how the game show world would have been if he went with his premonition to host The Joker's Wild or Gambit.
Thank you for all the priceless memories, Mr. Barker.

If you folks get a chance, watch BigJon's TPIR stream he did yesterday to celebrate Bob's life.
I have a feeling Bob was watching it from high above because some epic things happened on it, none moreso than beginning around the 4-hour 56-minute mark, but there were some unbelievably funny epic fails throughout as well prior to that, including a streak that Jon says had never happened before in the history of him streaming his Price game.

Thanks so much for this Bill!
Seems appropriate that it will be rerun on Labor Day which is Monday, September 4th, which was also the day of the week and the date that episode 1 aired on CBS back in 1972.
Appreciatively,
a fellow Bill
