This will be a close replica of the show that appeared in prime time on FOX back in 2019 with one exception -- we will use word puzzles rather than pop culture questions as they did on the show.
Here is the format we will use:
- Round 1 is called "Quick Spin" where the contestant gets 4 spins of the wheel with the maximum wedge amount being $500,000. In this round, a single word puzzle will be concealed and the contestant chooses a letter he/she thinks is in the puzzle. The wheel is then spun and the contestant earns whatever they landed on multiplied by however number of that letter appears in the puzzle. If the letter they chose in not in the puzzle, they lose the spin amount. This is repeated for spins 2 and 3. For Spin 4, they must solve the puzzle and either win or lose their fourth spin amount depending on whether they can solve it or not.
- Round 2 is called "Quick Spin +" where the contestant chooses someone as their partner. This partner has control of a button that if pressed, doubles the value of the spin. The format is the same as in Round 1, except this time, it will be a two-word puzzle they must solve on the 4th spin.
- Round 3 is called "Build Your Wheel". In this round, two wedges each of $1 million and "Back to Zero" are placed on the wheel, the latter wiping out the entire bank if they are hit, and penalty wedges of up to $200,000 are added as well. The wheel now displays four sets of four low-value wedges each ($1 to $1,000), which the contestant may try to change. This round will contain 4 puzzles, a one-word, two-word, three-word and four-word puzzle with wheel wedge values ($250,000 $500,000 $1 Million and $2 Million) added to the wheel for solving the puzzles. Failure to solve adds one to four "Back to Zero" wedges depending on the puzzle. The round begins with 15 letter reveals given to the contestant which they can use to reveal letters in the four puzzles. It is up to the contestant to decide how many to use and in what order to solve the puzzles. After each puzzle is either solved (meaning wedge values are added to the wheel) or not solved (meaning "Back to Zero" wedges are added), the contestant spins the wheel.
- Round 4 is called "Final Spins" where the contestant's partner is brought back onstage. Before each spin, a cash offer will be made to quit the game, based on the amount in the bank and the risk of losing. The partner secretly decides whether or not to accept the offer, after which the contestant spins the wheel. The maximum value of penalty spaces in this round is increased to $500,000 and these wedges are added:
- For the first spin of this round, a $1 Million wedge is added
- For the second spin, a second $1 Million wedge is added along with a "Back to Zero" wedge
- For the third spin, a $2 Million wedge is added along with two more "Back to Zero" wedges
- For the fourth spin, a $3 Million wedge is added along with three more "Back to Zero" wedges
My plan is to make a season series out of this, with a special Champions Edition to end the season where we bring back the biggest winner and give them a shot to win again.
We will use the wheel itself to select the contestants right out of the "audience" by having you PM your guess at the value the wheel will land on during our Contestant Selection Spin.
I plan to premiere this on Labor Day Monday, September 4th so look for it then on Channel 3!
