(audience cheers as...) (Nels rolls) And double three for a 6. How do you play the 6?

(ding)We get an I and an H -- and two unlucky rolls enter the picture. Rolls of 2 and 6 cannot be played. You may guess for $1100, roll again, or pass the dice to George.

(ding)There's an M and a R. The unlucky rolls are really piling up -- 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7. Nels, you may guess for $900, roll again, or pass the dice.

Champ, Nels feels the dice are going to go cold. Let's see what happens. (audience cheers as...) (George rolls) (audience groans) (buzz)And Nels' hunch was right. Nels, this means we reveal the letter behind the highest remaining number of 12. (ding)It's an E. The unlucky rolls should remain 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7. And -- they do. So, Nels, you may guess for $800, roll again, or pass the dice again to George.

Passing again. George, let's see if you can break the spell. (audience cheers as...) (George rolls) (audience groans) (buzz)Another combo of 7 won't do it. Again, we reveal the highest remaining number for another letter. (ding)Nels, the 11 gives you the letter F. The unlucky rolls are piling up to the point we should talk about the rolls that *work*. The *playable* rolls -- the lucky rolls -- are 4, 8, 9, 10, and 12. So, Nels, you may guess for $700, roll again, or pass the dice again to George.

(buzz) (audience groans)Judge says we cannot accept that. So, George, you'll take over. We give you the letter behind the 10. It's an E. George, the lucky rolls are 4, 8, 9 and 12. Guess for $600, roll, or pass the dice back to Nels.

(time passes) (buzz)No decision in time. Nels, control comes back to you -- as you get a free letter from the 9. (ding)It's a C. Now, the rolls that are playable are 4, 8, and 12. Should the nominated player roll a 12, that player automatically banks $300 since all the letters in the puzzle would be revealed by then. So, with that, Nels, want to guess for $500, roll again, or pass to George?

(time passes) (buzz)No decision in time from Nels. George, you're back in control. First, the 8 reveals... (ding) ...an I. Only playable roll is a 4. The nominated player who rolls a 4 automatically banks $300. So, with that, George, want to guess for $400, roll again, or pass to Nels?

(ASB win cue plays; audience applause) That we can accept. Now let me explain what happened. Nels, when you gave your guess, you didn't include the hyphen in your guess. We pointed out the hyphen when we set up the puzzle. The World Book and other sources have confirmed "crime-fighter" can be expressed as a single hyphenated word. So that's what we went with. And we needed a player to come up with a hyphenated guess. George, your guess was hyphenated. Your guess was correct. So that's why you vault further into the lead. (chimes; audience cheers) And here's a chance to win more money with the follow-up question. This is worth $750 and has two possible answers. Pick the right answer and you bank the $750. Pick the wrong answer -- and Nels gets on the scoreboard with the 750. So, for $750 more... If Instagram existed in the 1970s, which crime-fighter would more likely caption a selfie with the hashtag #NoHairDontCare: Theo Kojak or Jim Rockford?

(ASB cue plays; audience applauds) We're back with more of Lucky Numbers. Time for Round 2. So far, it's been all George -- 2550 to nothing. Nels, in this round, puzzles start at $2000. And somewhere in this round, we have a $1000 follow-up question. So there's still plenty of time to catch up. The next time we here this noise -- (tacky buzzer) -- the game is over. Leading contestant at that point wins and goes to the main event -- where all the big money and prizes await. Nels, you're trailing. But with a lucky roll or two, you can get right back in the thick of this. Let's set up the next puzzle. (chime sfx)Two words -- ten letters. Give the dice a good roll. (audience cheers as...) (Nels rolls)Starting with an 8. How do you play it?

Sorry, I goofed earlier in the HTML. It's Nels who rolled the 8.
Because of my error, I'm allowing Nels extra time to make a move on the 8.
