I don't know if any of the admins on here can even make changes like this, but I wanted to share my experience with you and offer some suggestions.
I am a contestant on Immanuel's "Jackpot Trivia" show, however Kourtney is currently playing his "Tic Tac Roll" game, so I haven't had any reason to make an entry in that thread since July 28th which was the last time I answered a question. This morning, when I logged on and clicked on the "Participated" button, this show is no longer listed. So, it seems this button is limited to show threads that you've made entries in for only the previous 10 days.
I think this number needs to be significantly higher for the reason I've just shared. In shows that have three or more contestants, sometimes the focus is on only one of the contestants while the others remain idle, such is the case with George Cluster, Bryan Law and myself currently on "Jackpot Trivia".
When I clicked that button this morning, it looked odd to me and it took me a few minutes to remember which show was missing. We're all human and sometimes forgetful and had it not stood out to me that "Jackpot Trivia" was missing from that list, I'll be honest I might have completely forgotten about it until probably receiving a PM from Immanuel to tell me it's my turn.
If possible, I suggest this number get increased to something much higher, like 30 or maybe even 60 days, not 10 days as it is currently. Another possibility would be to simply leave the thread on the Participated list until the show itself is either deleted or moved to the Archive, at which time it vanishes from that list. Yet another idea -- just give us the option to control our own lists and when we're done with a show or a thread, we can remove it from our Participated list ourselves.
The other thing related to this that I think should change is that the Participated button itself should be mandatory for all users, but currently it can be disabled in your profile, so this means there might be people on here not even using it. Without that button lighting up to remind me I have new posts to read, it would be up to me to remember which shows I'm on and some of these shows might be waiting for me to play. This could explain why sometimes I've noticed some people respond to only some of the threads they're on, but not all threads that are waiting for them to respond. Some folks on here participate in a lot of games, so having them rely on their own memory as to which shows they're on can be problematic to say the least.
If you're reading this and don't see a Participated button it might be turned off. It is normally near the top-right corner of the website. If you click on "Profile" and then the button called "Edit Profile" and then click on the "Settings" tab, you will see it as the first option "Show Participated". Make sure to click the "Save Account Settings" button near the bottom to enable it.
Anyway, sorry for rambling on here, but I think what I've suggested would help the site in a positive way, again, assuming someone has the power to change such things.
