Well, this is a tough act to follow after your last two contestants, but my gut is telling me to go with the blue horse, number 2.

Going with 2. (ding)If horse #2 wins the race, we'll have a perfect show thus far and three contestants in the tie-breaker. Should your horse finish second, you'll win $500 plus $500 for each furlong the horse advanced. Folks -- it's post time. (bells ring) And -- they're off! (final three minutes and few seconds of "The William Tell Overture" plays)Lisa, let's get on a roll. (audience cheers as Lisa rolls) Okay, well, horse 3 gets off to the early lead. Lisa, let's see a 2 this time. (Lisa rolls) And -- it's a 1. Jack's horse still at the starting gate. Let's change that. (Lisa rolls) (burst of cheers) There we go! Everyone's running neck and neck. Next roll, please, Lisa. (Lisa rolls) (bigger burst of cheers) Another 2! Jack, your horse is leading for the first time in the race. How are you feeling?

Well, it's only a 1-furlong lead, so I'm nervous as any of them could still win at this point.

Well, let's get right back to the action -- as Lisa is still on a roll. May say the same of your horse. (audience cheers as Lisa rolls) (bigger burst of cheers) Hey now! Getting close! Another 2, please, Lis! (Lisa rolls) (scattered groans) Well -- a 1. Horse 1 catching up -- but let's see another 2, please, Lisa. (Lisa rolls) (big burst of cheers) That's more like it. Now how do you feel down to the stretch, Jack?

Well, in the past, when I've bet on horses at the track, many is the time that they finish second even when at some point in the race, they had a lead like this.
That was the long version of -- still nervous.

Well let's get back to the action in our track. Let's see a 2, please, Lisa. (Lisa rolls) (scattered groans) That's -- not a 2. Need another 2 for the *win*. (Lisa rolls) (more groans) That's -- still not a 2. Your horse and someone else's horse are now down the stretch. I hope the next roll's a 2. Ready for it?

Okay, possible race-ending rolling right here. A 2 wins it, a 1 loses it, a 3 prolongs it. Lisa -- *please* -- a 2. (audience cheers as Lisa blows on the cube for luck and then rolls . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .) (audience groans)Another 1 and that's all she wrote. (ding)But all's not lost. You see $500 light up in the lane you selected. Normally that's all you'd get if we were playing this on our daytime show. Jack, on the primetime spectacular, you'd still win $500 *plus* another $500 for each furlong your horse moved toward the finish line. Your horse moved four furlongs. Four furlongs times $500 pays another $2000. So you have a total of $2500. That's a nice consolation prize. (audience cheers) I will also tell you, without naming names, certain members of our staff have been known to *lose* $2500 at Santa Anita. (scattered laughter from crowd) So to come away from our makeshift horserace $2500 to the good is good going. And I hope you had fun.

I did, but no matter what racetrack I play on, my horse finishes second every time! It's uncanny actually haha. Thanks for having me on the show!

Thanks for playing. Hopefully you'll pick a winning horse at the real racetrack. And hopefully we'll get back on the winning track -- after this. (theme plays; audience cheers)

Tiffany: Closed captioning provided by...
(theme plays; audience applause)Time to start the second half of On A Roll's Primetime Spectacular from Harrah's fabulous Rio in Las Vegas. (audience cheers) Here in The Samba Theater, we've played three games and we have two $25,000 winners. George and Shederick will play in a tie-breaker game at the end of the show. If someone else wins $25,000 in a game, that winner also joins in on that tie-breaker. During the break, we picked babytims to play our next game. Let's welcome Immanuel! (audience cheers)Immanuel, before we tell you about your game, please tell us about yourself.

We're delighted you're here. Wally and both dice girls are going to join us in playing our version of the dice game... ... Sic Bo -- and here's how the game works. Wally has randomly hidden the moneyman behind one of the letters in the name of the game, Sic Bo. That means behind the remaining four letters, we have spoilers. You want to avoid those. Now, to eliminate spoilers, you'll be making 50:50 predictions on rolls of the dice. Candice will roll on the first two rolls -- and then Lisa will roll on the last two rolls. Each lady will roll three dice. Each time you're correct about the result of her roll, we randomly eliminate a spoiler. If you manage to go four-for-four, you'll eliminate all the spoilers, leave the moneyman behind and automatically win $25,000. (audience cheers)But if you make less than four correct predictions, you'll have one chance to find the moneyman Success will still pays the 25 grand. Right now, let's start with Candice. Do you think the sum of her roll will be odd or even?

Let’s try odd

Post by dougmorrisontheair on Jul 22, 2023 11:39:08 GMT -5
Odd is the pick. Candice, we're looking for any odd sum (audience cheers as Candice rolls dice down original Let 'Em Roll ramp) (dings; audience applause) 5, 5 and 1 add up to 11. That's odd. So we randomly lose a spoiler. (spoiler elimination sfx)The one behind O. (ding) And you're $1000 richer for that. As the girls gather the dice, let's call the next roll -- odd or even?

That was odd indeed, let's make the same call

Odd is the pick again. Candice, another odd sum, please. (audience cheers as Candice rolls dice down original Let 'Em Roll ramp) (buzz) And -- 1, 2 and 5 -- they add up to 8. So that's an even sum. Okay, third roll's coming up. Before we roll, we change dice girls. Lisa will be rolling the dice for the rest of the game. And your choices change. Instead of odd or even, your choices are big or small. A big sum totals more than 10 and a half -- meaning a small sum is less than 10 and a half. So with that -- do you think Lisa will roll a big or small sum?

I'm going big or I'm going home!

Big you've said. Lisa, we're looking for a big sum. (audience cheers as Lisa rolls dice down original Let 'Em Roll ramp) (buzz) And -- 1, 1 and 6 -- they total 8. That's not big enough. The total needed to be higher than 10 and and a half to be big. So this was a small sum. Immanuel, still three spoilers up there. Final roll coming up. Big or small?

Small, Doug

Going small. Lisa, let's finish with itty bitty numbers. (audience cheers as Lisa rolls dice down original Let 'Em Roll ramp) (buzz) (audience groans)Well -- *one* of those numbers is itty bitty. But 1, 4, and 6 add up to 11 -- a sum just big enough to fall into the big category. Well, Immanuel, that was the last roll. Here's the situation. You could stop now, take $1000, call it a night -- and take yourself out of the running for tens of thousands more. Or, you could decide to play on. If you play on, you'll choose one of the remaining letters. If you find the moneyman, we augment your $1000 to $25,000. If you find a spoiler, I'm making an executive decision since this won't affect the scoring of the spectacular; a spoiler will reduce your winnings to $100 instead of $0. So -- what do you think -- stop here $1000 to the good for go for $25,000? (audience shouts suggestions)

(audience cheers) What happens in Vegas happens in the On A Roll Primetime Spectacular. (scattered laughter from crowd) Okay, Immanuel, which letter's hiding the moneyman?

Post by babytims on Jul 24, 2023 13:21:42 GMT -5
My name's Immanuel...it starts with an I....so I'll take the letter next to it and say C please
|
|
|
Post by dougmorrisontheair on Jul 24, 2023 19:11:56 GMT -5
Interesting -- logic. Let's see if C is hiding our friend -- the moneyman. (buzz; NYSI89 losing horns; audience groans)Spoiler. Well -- $1000 becomes $100. Sorry about that. Now we have to hope the moneyman wasn't behind the I. Where was he, Wally? (FF reveal sfx)Can we -- take a break first? Um -- this isn't "Idol". (scattered laughter from crowd) Oh, just reveal the rest of the board, please Wally. Um -- please? (scattered murmurs) (FF reveal sfx) (loud groans from crowd) I don't believe it. Immanuel -- you should've gone with your own initial! Tell ya what let's do. Since Immanuel has eight letters, let's kick in $25 per letter or $200 more. Wally, that would bring it up to a $300 consolation prize. Let's also make sure Immanuel is far far away from sharp instruments. (scattered laughter) And maybe the Rio will comp you a nice room here. Seriously, sorry about the bad luck here.
