Un dólar for Matt. We're locked and loaded in with the bids. The actual retail price of the bunk bed is... Two Thousand Ninety Five dollars! Andrew wins the bed! (Dings, cod cue, cheers)Andrew stand right here. Welcome to the stage, bud! Now Andrew, I want you to get a good look at the prize you're playing for...because it's quite nice indeed! And it ain't too far, it's right over there!George: A new car!(Car cue, cheers)
Travel in power with a robust range of high-performance features on the 2023 Chrysler 300 full-size sedan. Touring trims include an impressive 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine along with a smooth eight-speed automatic transmission and comfort suspension all standard, plus available all-wheel drive!
You see that car, Andrew? That's an exquisite car, I'd love for you to own that car. And to win that car, you'll be playing cards. As you can plainly see by the cutoff logo on the display here, it's the Card Game for you Andrew, in which you'll be making a bid on that car with a standard deck of playing cards. First though we have a special deck that determines how close you have to be to the actual retail price of the car without going over. Of these 7 white envelopes, we have range amounts of $1,000, $2,000, $3,000 and $5,000 scattered about here. Choose one of these 7 envelopes and we'll see how close you have to be to the price of the car without going over. (Andrew, pick a number from 1 to 7 to grab an envelope)

*he pulls the envelope* Let's see a goodie! (Applause)$3,000! That's the second best value you could have gotten. You have to come within $3,000 of the actual retail price of the car without going over to win it. Now...here's a standard deck of 52 playing cards, no funny business here. Cut the cards if you would please. (Andrew cuts the cards. I don't need a cut number here, because again, the cards were shuffled at random before this thread started) And now you're going to bid on that car using these cards here. Face cards and tens are worth $1,000, numbered cards are worth the number on the card in hundreds of dollars, and aces are wild...you can make them any value you wish. Since this car is so nice...we'll start you off with a bid of $20,000... (Ding)
To make it a bit easier for you. Again, you'll keep drawing cards increasing your bid until you believe you're within $3,000 of the actual retail price of the car without going over. Now dig in there and draw a card.

Thanks, Immanuel. Let's see here! *picks a card from the middle of the deck* (Are you wanting me to give a number between 1 and 52? If so, I choose 17 as my first number.) (Yes, I do need a number from 1 to 52...thanks for that because I failed to mention that) (He grabs a card) First pull is a.... Jack of hearts. That puts $1,000 toward your bid. (Ding)
You're at $21,000. (If you do elect to pull again Andrew, pick a number from 1 to 51 please)

Andrew has 10 hours or his bid will freeze where it stands

Andrew missed the deadline, so his bid freezes at $21,700. So...he must be within $3,000 to the actual retail price of the car without going over in order to win that automobile. In this economy, it'll barely pay for the gas on that car. (Laughter) The actual retail price of the car is... $42,595... (Scattered groans) For a difference of... $20,895... (Buzz, losing horns, audience groans)
And that is almost 10 times out of the original range, so no car for you. Andrew, there's always redemption at the big wheel! (Theme, applause)That concludes half number one on our show, when we return...we'll start the second half and hopefully give away more stuff! We'll be back! George: Stay tuned for more pricing games and the fabulous showcases which are coming up...on the second half of The Price is Right!

A $6 overtaking! The bids are in. The actual retail price of that lovely painting is... $2,900! George is the winner of that painting! (Dings, cod cue, cheers)George, stand right here if you would please. We have a lot of stuff to give away for the rest of the hour, and you have the honor of helping us splurge our assets here. You already have with that painting, how would you like this to go with it? George: A grandfather clock!(Prize cue, cheers)
This is a very nice antique French Morbier longcase clock, 19th century, original patina walnut case, glazed dial with pendulum and 2 weights. Brass surrounding enameled fancy dial with Roman numeral hour markers. It's a prize worth...$7,200!
(Cheers)
To win that clock George, you have to be good at Tic Tac Toe.
I'm sorry, Secret "X". Same thing.
In one of these red squares in the middle is an X. You'll get up to 3 more X's to place randomly on the board, and if you manage to get your X's to make a 3-in-a-row pattern, which has to include the Secret X, I'll have the privilege of giving you that grandfather clock.
To start, here's an X. Place this X anywhere on the board if you would please.

In the top left corner it goes: And now, you have the chance to win 2 more X's, and 2 small prizes to go with those X's. Mr. Gray...take it away! (Prize cue)George: With pleasure, Immanuel:First, Zojirushi's Conventional Electric Rice cookers are ideal for beginners. Simply add rice, water and push a button.
And...these 10 carat Garnet earrings have round-cut garnet gemstones, giving these 10k gold stud earrings scintillating style. We'll start with that rice cooker, to which we'll play Double Prices. That rice cooker is either worth $53 or $46. Which is it? (Audience shouts suggestions)

Post by babytims on Aug 8, 2023 0:49:42 GMT -5
Is it $46? (Buzz, audience groans)
Ooh...no it ain't. The rice cooker is $53, so no X with that one. But you get one more chance. What's the price of those earrings? $60...or $73? (Audience shouts suggestions)
|

Post by bighornbattle on Aug 8, 2023 4:13:33 GMT -5
$60.

|
Post by babytims on Aug 8, 2023 13:47:26 GMT -5
If they're $60...you're still in the hunt. Oh come now. (Buzz, losing horns, audience groans)
What is going on today? After Most Expensive, it's been a downward spiral. We keep this up, we'll turn away our viewers. (Laughter) George, I'm terribly sorry. Where was the Secret X today? It was in the top row. Had you gotten another X, you'd probably have a chance. At least you get a shot at the wheel! (Theme, applause)
We have one more game, and I have a purty good feeling that we'll squeeze out a win there. Find out if we do after these words!
