DK: Thanks a lot, Dean! And welcome back to The Big Gambit Hour, and here we are, the Championship Match of our program, and it's going to be a whole lot of fun! And what's better is that both of our players have 1 Gambit Power Chip in hand, and someone is going to win a lot more when that player becomes our champion and heads to the Gambit Deluxe Board. Right now, though, we're got to get the match underway.
And the Championship Match works just like the Classic Gambit match with the legendary Wink Martindale, but there are a few differences. First of all, instead of asking questions, we're going to take turns by going through a series of puzzles in order to gain control of the cards.
And the way we do that is by picking a letter from the word "GAMBIT" here. Behind 5 of those letters are puzzles, and the player in control will get to choose one of those letters, and I'll explain how it works. If you are successful, and you will earn money to your Bonus Bank and more importantly, you will gain control of the cards, but be careful. If you are wrong, the money and control of the cards will automatically go to your opponent.
The one remaining letter will automatically earn you $100 and control of the cards.
After 4 of those letters have been picked, the items will be reshuffled and the board will be reset.
And we'll be taking turns back and forth until either one of you freezes, one of you achieves a Blackjack or a score of 21, or until one of you busts by going over 21. Now, here's something very important that you must know. In order to freeze, you must either take a card for yourself, or if your opponent passes over a card to you, as long as you don't go over 21, and you must be in the lead. Also, there are no ties in this match. If you decide not to freeze and continue playing the game, you will not be given the option to freeze again unless or until you receive another card, and that card places you in the lead, or keeps you in the lead.
Now, once one of you freezes, the other will be put into a "Sudden Death" situation, where I will now be asking you questions, and you will have 24 hours to answer the question in order to stay alive and earn as many cards as possible until you beat your opponent's score without going over 21, busting by going over 21, or missing a single question.
So if you either get a single question wrong, or miss the 24-hour deadline, or going over 21, and you will lose the game.
Whoever wins this first game will earn $500 to their Main Game Bank, and an extra $1,000 to their Bonus Bank.
And let's not forget that in this portion of the show, we have our Big Money Jackpot System activated, and it'll all be displayed here at my podium.
