Based on the ABC game show from the 2nd season, I am going to Test Pilot, Duel. The rules are below, anyone that would like to try, just reply in the thread :-)
Objective: Based on the ABC game show, two players answer multiple choice trivia questions, hoping to outlast the other by betting on the answers.
Gameplay: Before each "Duel" begins, each contestant is given ten chips each worth $2,500. Contestants will use these chips to "bet" on what they believe is the correct answer.
A multiple choice question is asked with four different answers, like the situation below
(*( IN WHAT SPORT WOULD YOU COMPETE FOR THE GREY CUP )*)
PLAYER A<<<<<$250,000>>>>>PLAYER B
FOOTBALL
BASKETBALL
[C] BASEBALL [C]
[D] ICE HOCKEY [D]
Contestants have 24 hours to PRIVATELY message what they believe is the correct answer. If a contestant is unsure of the answer, they may choose to "bet" on more than one answer, PROVIDED THEY HAVE THE CHIPS TO DO SO. Contestants are not permitted to see each other's answers until BOTH contestants have made their bets. Only one chip may be bet on any answer, and contestants MUST BET ON AT LEAST ONE ANSWER IN EVERY QUESTION.
Once both contestants have locked in their bets (or the 24 hour time limit expires), the results of the bets and the correct answer is revealed. In the above example:
(*( IN WHAT SPORT WOULD YOU COMPETE FOR THE GREY CUP )*)
PLAYER A<<<<<$250,000>>>>>PLAYER B
[$] <FOOTBALL> [$]
BASKETBALL
[C] BASEBALL [C]
[D] ICE HOCKEY [$]
Player A has bet on A, Player B has bet on A and D. The correct answer is A: Football
If both players bet on the correct answer, the "duel" continues. Any chips that are bet on incorrect answers are lost, and added to a cash jackpot that starts at $250,000 and goes up $2,500 for every chip bet on an incorrect answer.
The "duel" can end in one of four ways:
* If at any time a contestant fails to bet on the correct answer, the "duel" is over, and their opponent is declared the winner and champion
* If BOTH contestants fail to bet on the correct answer, the "duel" is declared a "draw"
* If a contestant loses all ten of their chips, their opponent is automatically declared the winner and champion
* If after TEN questions a winner has not been determined, the contestant with the most chips will be declared the winner. If there is a tie for amount of chips, the "duel" is declared a "draw"
Draws are treated the same as "tie" games on Tic Tac Dough and Twenty-One. The "duel" will be started over, with the value of the chips increased by $2,500 each "draw" until a winner is determined.
The winner of the "duel" will be given the "golden chip" to bet on one more question, AND MAY ONLY BET ON ONE ANSWER ONLY. A correct answer will double the value of the chips the contestant had remaining in their "duel" and this amount will be awarded to the contestant.
The champion must now choose to stop playing and collect their winnings, or choose to face the next challenger with this thought in mind. If the champion should lose the next duel, any money the challenger should win, will be deducted from the money they have accumulated.
The Jackpot: Any contestant that wins FIVE "duels" in a row, wins the contents of "The Jackpot" and is retired from the show.
