Hello friends. Something new I've decided to do:
My lineup is set....for the summer that is. A few shows that I'm hosting now is only temporary through until the end of next month...when things change! Similar to ABC's Summer Game of Games...I present to you all the Super Summer Block right here on NGC. This is explicitly for me...as I am the one who came up with such a title . This is a complete lineup shuffle once again...but this one is temporary.
I teased this when I announced "Word you Like to Solve"...and I'm making an official lineup, the shows of which may surprise you.
Also this summer, I'll be doing 4 shows instead of 5. Without further ado, here we go:
BUT! Before we start, I wanna say take this lineup with a grain of salt...I had a running list of 6 shows that I had planned on doing (Jeopardy, Press Your Luck, Pyramid, Now You See It, Password Plus...and even Scrabble...granted I asked Tony for his permission), but none of those shows made it through the planning stage. The only one that did will be the "co-star" to this summer's lineup, to accompany Word You Like to Solve on Channel 1. It's a spinoff to my personal favorite game that I have ever created, and a direct spinoff to both Let's Make a Deal and The Price is Right:
Immanuel's Jackpot Trivia! It's an audience participation show, much like The Price is Right, but unlike Price...this game uses "minigames" as opposed to "Pricing Games". Since I have Price in daytime...I'm syndicating this show in the evening, so it's essentially a nighttime version of Price. Here's a synopsis:
3 players go head-to-head against each other in a preliminary game answering trivia questions. Each player starts with $250, and can build their bank higher with each correct answer. There are 3 questions worth escalating amounts of money (a la the Bullseye/Bankroll game on Family Feud). The top 2 winners after 3 questions play a question for bonus money, and the person who answers that correctly plays a minigame for cash and/or a prize, and each minigame pertains to either trivia or testing the player's luck. This goes on for 3 rounds, with amounts doubling in the third round...and the last game of the day being played for high stakes. After each round, the player can either keep their winnings or put it all at stake in the Jackpot, which can be won in the choice board game.
With me so far?
After 3 rounds of 3 games…the winning players play the choice board game. In this game, the players each have the chance to build a jackpot to up to an extra $15,000 cash.
The question is read along with 4 possible answers and the player who buzzes in first gets to answer. A correct answer gives that player the right to choose from one of the 7 cards and that value goes into the pot, and they assume control over the Jackpot until they get a question wrong or all questions have been played. If the player chooses a wrong answer, they lose control, and the opposing players buzz in to try and assume control of the Jackpot. The player in control once all 7 cards have been played wins the Jackpot and the game, and goes to the bonus board!
Still with me?
The bonus board spells the word Jackpot and has 16 squares underneath. The 16 squares contain a set of zeroes, and the word "JACKPOT" hides the numbers 5 to 35 in increments of 5. After picking a letter in the word JACKPOT, the player picks a square, then the values are matched (ex: If a player picks the A which holds a 10, and the square that holds the 000, they match $10,000). After each pick, the player can either hold on to what they have or try another set to try and win higher, knowing that the numbers/letters they pick cannot be chosen again. If the player picks the LOSE square, they lose, and only win the number they chose in dollars. The player only has 5 chances to win.
WHEW! That's a lot...and just like Word you Like to Solve's rule sheet...it's discombobulated I know. But hopefully it'll all make sense once the show launches. Now to the other shows:
The shows that will get dropped in the summer is Yahtzee and $ale of the Century, but the two of them along with another season of The Joker's Wild will return in the fall. The Price is Right and Word you Like to Solve will continue through the summer, but at the end of September Word is going bye-bye.
Also, due to displeasure from the way I created it...and because of me deeming it unnecessary, the $1,000,000 tournament for The Joker's Wild is officially cancelled. I'll just do another regular season with more changes.
Finally, Wheel of Fortune is not going to be at Television City in the summer. Every show starting with episode 16 until the 20th will be in a new location across America, in our "Wheel Across America" themed special! (as teased in episode 11)
So that's our Super Summer Schedule...I cannot wait for it, it's going to be a lot of fun! Hope to see you all there and see what I've been cooking up for so long!
