At this time I would like to respectfully request for Nels and Kourtney to send me via private message 15 buzz codes. All buzz codes should be higher than 0 but lower than 101. Nels Snesrud messaged me and requested to appear during episode 4. He will take on Kourtney who will try to become the first repeat champion in this series of Split Decision episodes. Toss Up Puzzle values will now be decided randomly. They can be $25, $50 or $75. Also, Hand values will now also be decided randomly. They can be $125, $150, $175, $200, $225 or $250. Hand dollar values will be doubled if it is the 3rd winning hand for either player, as it still takes 3 hands to win one game. The winner of game 1 of the match will still get to play our Half & Half mini bonus game, however, I've gotten rid of the progressive jackpot. Starting with this episode, the player who plays this game will select from one of 9 boxes, the boxes that make up "H" "A" "L" "F" "&" "H" "A" "L" "F" Three of the boxes will hide $1,000. Three will hide $1,500. Two will have $2,000 and one will have the top potential prize now of $2,500. The game play itself remains unchanged. Thank you!

Frank Caliendo: It's the card game where Ace is always high... and Deuce is always low. Turn any two cards in the deck face up, then just try to fit a card in between that's neither higher nor lower. Welcome to the newest, high stakes card game on television. SPLIT DECISION! (Cheering & applause) With your host…the man whose idea of having a butterfly collection is carving flies out of butter… the keeper of the cards… Bill McDee! (Cheering & applause) That's me! Frank, if that's your idea of trying to "butter" me up, try again! Hello once again and welcome in to Split Decision, the exciting new card game where big cash prizes are waiting to be won each and every day by our two eager contestants. So far during our premiere week we've had a poetic theme going on, "One and done". Three episodes and three different champions so far. Will that trend continue today? We're about to find out. Here to introduce today's participants is our very lovely and talented dealer, Miss Witney Carson! (applause) Witney: Good morning Bill, good morning everybody. Today, our new player, the challenger at the blue position is from Minnesota, please say hello to Nels Snesrud... And our returning champion whose one day cash winnings total $6,325, welcome back Kourtney Wilson. (applause) Good morning gentlemen, and good luck. Nels is a bowler from the Land of 10,000 Lakes. I understand Nels that you also make bracelets? Do you do this as just a hobby or is there some profit making to be had by doing that?

Well, I am a shift leader at a national sub sandwich chain who likes to learn about interior design, listening to music (just about any type), I also am slow learner when it comes to languages (Spanish and Korean) and a collector (of Cigar boxes and stationary products).

Kourtney welcome back and good luck to you sir!
When we return, we will play Game 1 of our best 2 out of three match between Kourtney and Nels.
We have to split for just a moment, but will be back to begin, right after these words of interest!

Before we embark upon game number one of this match between Kourtney and Nels, our champion Kourtney must first select which deck we will use for game number one. Kourtney, you get to select which deck we will use for this first game, deck 1 or deck 2? And Nels, as the challenger, you will get to cut the cards for this first game, so Nels, please provide a number higher than 0 but lower than 54, and that is how deep into the deck the cards will be cut.

Very good! The object of the game is to try to set up a split for your own hand as wide as possible while leaving as small a split as possible for your opponent. You win one hand by either successfully drawing a card that fits the split, or by having your opponent bust by receiving a card that does not fit. The first player to win 3 hands wins one game and it takes two games to win the match and to move onto our Pot Limit end game which can be worth up to $78,000 today! In addition to that, the winner of game #1 will get to play a mini bonus game called HALF & HALF, and that can be worth up to $2,500 in bonus money! Also, if either player wins a game 3 hands to none, we call that a BLITZ and we have a jackpot for that. If either player wins this game 3 to 0 they will win an additional: (clang) $350 on top of everything else. It starts at $250 and grows by $50 per game until it is claimed, at which time it resets to $250. Now in order to get to draw cards you must first win control of the deck. We do that by playing a word puzzle. Two words will be shown connected by a third word. I will tell you the first letter of the word and how many letters are contained in that word. The first player to buzz in will have 48 hours to post their answer. A correct answer will score anywhere from $25 to $75 for them plus control of the deck, an incorrect answer or a missed deadline will give control to the other player automatically, but no money will be awarded. The puzzle toss up values are randomly decided as are the value for each hand we play. Hand values now can range from $125 up to $250, and if means a third hand being won by the player, then we pay double the value of the Hand. Let's see... $75 if you buzz in first with the correct answer to the toss up and $225 will be awarded to the winner of this first hand. Here is our first puzzle players. I need a four letter word starting with "C" that connects the words ICE with STEAK... tpirepguide.com/qwizx/gssfx/usa/be-buzzer.wavKourtney you are in first sir and have until 8:45pm EST on Tuesday, March 28th to post your answer.

It's a fan favorite in Alaska, Ice Cube Steak is correct! (applause) That applause is for you Kourtney, not for my half-baked Alaska humor... All money earned by our players is theirs to keep, win or lose the match. Now comes decision time. Witney will reveal the first card in the deck and Kourtney, you will have to decide if you wish to keep the card for your own hand, pass it over to Nels, or place it in the green center space, which is the common card that you will both share. The first card today is: A 9. Where is that going Kourtney?

Let’s am going to give that to Nelson.

The 9 belongs to you Nels. Next card please Witney... tpirepguide.com/qwizx/gssfx/usa/hr-double.wavOh my! As you may recall I had Nels cut a 54 card deck. That's because in addition to the standard 52 cards, we also have 2 insurance cards in the mix as well. The player in control of the cards receives an insurance marker whenever that card comes up. Kourtney you're very good at getting those! You can use that marker any time during the match to receive another card should you receive one that would ordinarily bust you. Furthermore, if you carry over one or more insurance markers into the Pot Limit end game, that would benefit you there as well. Right now, let's see the next card please. The snowman, an 8. Kourtne are you keeping that or placing that in the center as the common card?

Let’s make it the common card.

Very little if any wiggle room for Nels. Now let's see what your card is Kourtney... (gasps from the gallery) Oh my! Very tight squeeeeeeezes for both players! Control of the cards is most vital! I do want to point out for the players and the viewers, especially if you're checking out the program for the first time, during the front game, if a card ties it's a winner. So in this case, if Kourtney's next card is a 6, 7 or 8, it would win. For Nels, either an 8 or 9 would win, but that's it. Now to determine who wins control of that next card which will determine who wins this hand, we play a different type of toss up. And this game is our High Card Toss Up. Kourtney will select any one of these 13 numbered boxes. Concealed behind each number are the cards 2 through Ace, each one is there, and each one is there only once. Since Kourtney won the first word puzzle toss up, he gets to select first and there's an advantage to that. Kourtney if you select a card that you feel would not win, you can pass it off to Nels and go for another. This is what we call the "right of first refusal" in our game, however, if you select either the Ace or the 2, that will mean you win instantly since the Ace is the best you can do, while the 2 you would pass to Nels and your next choice would have to be higher, so we forego doing that in those cases. Additionally, if you select either the Ace or the 2 on your first pick, you will bank a "Bonus Draw" token which, if you win the match, will be carried over to the Pot Limit end game and that can translate into big winnings! Kourtney I will ask you to select TWO numbers from our board, and the first one you call out is the first one we will reveal for you. If you keep that first card, fine, then Nels will get to select from one of the other numbers. If you elect to pass that card to Nels, we will then reveal your second pick which you will have to keep. Kourtney, please select two numbers from our board.

Let’s go with 6 and 9.

Post by billmcdee on Mar 27, 2023 18:01:41 GMT -5
Number 6 is... Coincidentally IS a 6. You can see the split there Kourtney, 8 cards will beat it, 4 would lose. Do you want to keep the 6 or pass it to Nels and see what card 9 has for you Kourtney?

Pass.

Post by billmcdee on Mar 28, 2023 4:11:54 GMT -5
Kourtney the odds are 2 to 1 in your favor of bettering that 6. Let's see if you did... OOH NO!!! Only a 4! And that means Nels now takes control! Nels you may keep this next card, but only another 8 or 9 would win for you, or you may pass to Kourtney, only a 6, 7 or 8 would win for him. Bear in mind he does have one insurance marker so if the first card he receives is not a fit, he will receive another, so factor that into your strategy. Do you want to keep the next card hoping it's another 8 or 9, or pass to Kourtney and try to bust him instead?

I'm gonna pass

|
Post by billmcdee on Mar 28, 2023 16:23:48 GMT -5
Kourtney, Nels is going to try to bust you, but the good news is, he'll have to do so twice to take the hand as you have that insurance marker. But if it is a 6, 7 or 8, you'll be just fine and take the hand. It is... A 9! That would bust you Kourtney. Nels, if you had taken that card you would have won that hand. That said, I dare say you played it right because that's a very tight squeeze you have. Witney now takes the insurance marker back and will deal up this next card for Kourtney. It has to fit or Nels takes the first hand... It's a KING! (buzzer) And Nels takes the early lead! (ding) And only Nels remains in the running for the $350 Blitz Jackpot in this first game. On to another puzzle toss up... $50 the value of this next puzzle and $150 to the winner of this hand. I need a 6 letter word starting with M that links together FOND with FOAM. Kourtney is in first again. Kourtney you have until 5:25pm EST on Thursday, March 30th to post your answer.
