Time Machine - 3 In A Row

Based on the very short lived NBC daytime series hosted by John Davidson, I'm wanting to try out the "timing" game (as opposed to PRICING game) 3 in a Row.

Who would like to give it a whirl?

Terrific, let me show you the game board and explain how this will go.





We will be dealing with a list of 9 events, all of which occurred sometime during the decade of the 1980's.

The idea is to get any 3 numbers in a row either across, up and down, or diagonally.

You will choose 1 event from the list of 9 events that will be shown to you in a moment, and we will darken that box.


3 in a row horizontally or vertically will win $5,000.  A diagonal win is $10,000!


There is however, one catch.  You'll notice the 3 "Poison" cards.  You must place them somewhere on the board, in a row.


I would strongly recommend NOT lining them up diagonally though as you want to have 2 chances at the 10 grand!


So select 3 numbers in a row where you want to place those poison cards.  If the first line you complete includes all 3 of those poison cards, you will win $0.

Very well.  Here's hoping you'll avoid capturing all 3 of those before you get 3 in a row elsewhere.


Now we will show you a list of 9 events, each one taking place during one of these 9 years in the 1980s and they are:





Indira Gandhi assassinated, Australia celebrates its bicentennial, Oprah Winfrey Show debuts nationally, Sandra Day O'Connor becomes the first female Supreme Court Justice, Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska, the finale of M*A*S*H airs on CBS, the first indoor World Series game is played, the debut of "E.T." and finally New Coke is introduced.

Each of those 9 events took place in a different year.  Kourtney select one and one preferably that will not be attached to a poison card.

Sandra Day ‘o Connor Joins the Supreme Court.

I'll never tell!!!!!!!!!   No, in fact a "tie" such as that would have gone to the player in my rulebook.  I do not know what the actual show rules were if that were to happen.
