Even though this is a summer series, and it's not even spring yet, I still gotta pitch and pilot the show! Disregard some of the rules I set in the "Coming Soon" section of the board, as most of them have changed. I did a few test runs of the show, and I honestly don't know what to expect. I just really hope this works. Considering this format is brand new and a bit confusing, I'll do my very best to guide our way through! I need a pair of players to sign up and get this test started! Considering how busy I'll be this weekend, the show won't start until Monday, but I need players nonetheless! So, who wants to solve?

Ah yes, Mario Kart's my favorite as well. I always get nostalgic when I play Mario Kart 7 on my 3DS.
Good luck to you, Mark as you try and rack up a bunch of dough. Your challenger is Mike Foy. Mike, tell us what you do.

Math and meth huh? They can go together.
*laughter*
I kid of course, don't do drugs. Anyway, which class is your favorite at this point?

Yeah, I know the risks of drugs too.
My favorite class has to be the computers class. If you wanna be successful in life, you gotta know how to operate technology and all that.

I'm taking a computer science class right now myself. And it's very...interesting to say the very least. Good luck in your studies and in our game. Speaking of which, let's play the first round: *puzzle cue* All of our main puzzles and tossup puzzles are 6 letters long. You control the puzzle and its value with a pair of dice. One's a standard die with 6 numbers on it, which controls what letter gets revealed in the puzzle. The other die is a money die with values of up to $750 in this round!
I'll explain the main puzzle more in depth when we get to it, but for right now let's do a tossup for control of the dice:
This is a 15 letter game board which will reveal letters in just a moment. I'll give the first letter and the clue to a word, and the guesser for this round will call for another letter until they want to call the puzzle.
But that'd be too easy, because you can call a letter until the word is revealed. So that's where the setter comes in to play. On the setters podium are the numbers 3, 4, and 5. Whatever number the setter chooses is the amount of letters that the guesser can call for. We'll call these credits
I'll give an example: if the setter sets the credit number to 4, the guesser cannot call for more than 4 letters in the tossup puzzle. The setter cannot set the same credit number more than twice.
For this round, Mark will set the number of credits for each tossup puzzle and Mike will guess them.
Be careful not to call for too many letters, because you lose your turn by doing so.
If there are no questions, Mark watch your inbox, and we'll get started!

*ding* And Mark set the credits already, Mike let's get to work. Here's the first letter to this puzzle: *ding* It's an F. What's the clue to this puzzle? *blip* IT CAN BE PETRIFIED AND YET NOT FEEL ANY FEAR.
"It can be petrified and yet not feel any fear". Mike you can call for another letter or attempt to solve, but if you call too many letters and exceed your credit count or give a wrong guess, you lose control.

Let's go for another letter.

Post by babytims on Mar 17, 2023 20:17:56 GMT -5
This is your first letter called. *ding* "F-O..." Again, do not exceed your credits, you have 1 credit so far...do you wanna guess the word or call another letter. Remember the clue: IT CAN BE PETRIFIED AND YET NOT FEEL ANY FEAR.

Another letter, please.

Called your second letter. It gets you an... *ding* R. 2 credits down, remember not to exceed your credit count or you lose control. With the clue again being "IT CAN BE PETRIFIED AND YET NOT FEEL ANY FEAR", do you want to call for another letter or solve?

Still have no idea. Another letter, please.

Tread lightly. Here comes the next letter: *ding* F-O-R-E now, Mike. Remember not to exceed your credit count. You can call another letter or attempt to solve it. What's your prerogative?

Hmm, I might have a clue at what this could be. Is it FOREST?
|
|
|
Post by babytims on Mar 19, 2023 17:03:30 GMT -5
Ah...could be. Is it Forest? *ding ding ding, applause* It sure is! Nice going Mike. We give you $200 for each letter you didn't call for. Since there were only 2 letters left in the word, you get $400: *ding* And you get the first dibs on our main puzzle: Again, it's 6 letters long. You're gonna roll the 2 colored dice. The white die determines the letter position that gets revealed. The green die determines how much money goes into the pot.
Be careful, for on one side of the money die is a strike. Rolling such a thing makes you lose your turn.
Good luck. Whenever you're ready, roll 'em!
(Mike, when you roll, I need a roll code from 1 to 36)

*audience cheers as...Mike rolls* You rolled a 1, and $100. We'll put $100 in the bank and give you the first letter:*ding*And I totally forgot all about the clue for the main puzzle, so here it is:
"IT'S NOT THE KIND OF GENIE THAT CAN GRANT A WISH."
I also failed to mention that you get up to 2 rolls in one turn, so with the D as the first letter, the main clue given, and $100 in the pot, do you want to roll again or take a shot at the puzzle?

*audience cheers as...Mike rolls* This time it's a 5 and another $100 roll. We'll give you the fifth letter and another $100 in the pot...*ding*And there you have it. $200 sits in the jackpot now. You can either guess the puzzle or we go back to a tossup game.
