It's time already for episode 2 of Split Decision.
I've made a few changes to the game, but nothing too extraordinary. I'll go into details once we get the game underway.
I need for Immanuel Tims to please check in and to PM me 15 buzz codes.
I also need a new challenger to take him on for this new match, and for yet unknown challenger to please PM me 15 buzz codes and their biography.
Thanks so much. Of all the games I have presented on here lo these many years, this one I feel the most enthusiasm for! I hope those who play it and "watch" it enjoy it every bit as much.
Appreciatively, Bill

Sensational. I got your PM. And it works out well too Kevin as you have 5 letters in your name and I had 5 question marks! A neat coinky-dink!

Frank Caliendo (imitating Gene Wood) At times it will seem like you're playing like a master but one ill-timed card could lead to great disaster… Welcome to the newest, high stakes card game on television. Welcome to… SPLIT DECISION! (Cheering & applause) With your host…who came in third in his own look-alike contest… the keeper of the cards… Bill McDee! (Cheering & applause) That's me! And if there are at least two other people who look like me, I pity them! Greetings, salutations and welcome aboard to Split Decision. This is a card game based on the casino game "Red Dog" or "Acey-Deucey". And yes, just like our sister show Card Sharks, in this game Ace is high and Deuce is low. And let us first meet the REAL keeper of the cards, and she is a real keeper to be sure, our lovely dealer, Witney Carson! (cheers & applause) Witney: Hello Bill, hello and good luck in today's game gentlemen. Right now, I'd like to introduce to you our returning champion, we call him the "Comeback Kid" around here. He had a tough break at the end of our Pot Limit bonus game, but he still has thus far $1,000 in cash, let us welcome back Immanuel Tims! (cheering & applause) And Immanuel, the awesome pun you made at the end of our last episode, with the "splitting" headache was nothing short of brilliant! We learned on our last episode that you are a writer, and being that quick with such a witty response proves just that to me! Are you ready to get back to that Pot Limit end game and exact revenge on those cards?

I'm a writer yes, but I love me some improv!
I'm definitely here for it! Can't wait to get back to those cards!

Well we'll be getting ready to hit the deck in a moment...
(groans)
So much for my improv skills! Best of luck as you go for match win number 2 today Immanuel.
Here to challenge you from the great state of New York, a tax accountant, Mr. Kevin Kolsen!
(cheering & applause)
Kevin, I'm guessing business is really ramping up at this time of year for you, no?

Sounds like you work hard. I on the other hand hardly work (chuckling).
Good to have you here Kevin, perhaps after today's episode you can compute the tax on Immanuel's earnings here.
Right now players, Witney will present to you two decks of cards. We play with 2 decks, just one deck at a time.
One deck for game one of our best two out of three match, the other deck will be used for game 2 and if necessary, the game 3 one hand sudden death tie-breaking game.
Immanuel, as champion, you get to select which deck we will use first. Please select either deck A or deck B please.
And Kevin, as the challenger, you will get to cut the cards. Please give me a number higher than 0 but lower than 54, and that is how deep we will cut into the deck that Immanuel selects.

23 cards for the cut, now we just await Immanuel's decision on which deck we'll play with for game 1, deck A or deck B? And while we await that decision, let me explain that the object of our game is to draw a card from the deck that will fit the split. Aces are high, 2 is always low. So if you have a split that is from a 6 to a Jack for example, you would win one hand if the card you either draw or have passed to you by your opponent was anything from a 6 to a Jack. In the front portion of our game, a tie always wins for the player. If you had a King to a 4 split and you took a card that was an Ace, a 2 or a 3, those would NOT fit the split, and your opponent would win the hand. Earning control of the deck is what it's all about. To win control of the cards, you must be the first to ring in with a correct answer to a word split puzzle. Here's an example from the last show. In this case we are looking for a word starting with the letter "V" that connects MIAMI and SQUAD. And the answer in this case is VICE. If you buzz in first, you are required to answer the puzzle within a 48 hour deadline. I will post all deadline dates and times for the players and the folks at home playing along. All deadline times will be based on United States Eastern Standard Time. So if I post a 10:30am deadline and you're in California, that would mean 7:30am your time there. If you are correct, you will earn $25 plus all important control over the cards, which is vital in this game. If you are incorrect, pass, or if you miss the deadline, your opponent will win the toss up by default. No money awarded, but control of the deck will be awarded. After the first three cards are placed in the outside positions on the game board, a new follow up toss up will be played. I'll tell you more about that once we get there. Meantime we will pay you... $100 if you win 1 hand, an additional $150 if you win 2 hands, and if you are the first to win 3 hands, you'll win the game and another $250. There is also one additional bonus pay out that could be won during either of our first 2 games of today's match. It is called the 3 Hand Blitz. If either player wins a game 3 hands to none, they will win an additional cash bonus. We start it at $250 and for each game it is not won, it grows by $50 until it is won. Since neither of our first 2 games yesterday were won 3 hands to 0, the Blitz Bonus for this first game of today's match is worth... (CLANG) $350!

Apologies for the confusion my friend.
What I need for you to do Immanuel is to select one of two decks of cards.
You can select deck A or deck B.

Since my name has an A in it, I'll take deck A please

Post by billmcdee on Feb 11, 2023 12:56:19 GMT -5
And since my name has an i in it, I will let you take deck A! And Kevin's now cutting deck A... And now we shall begin with a $25 toss up puzzle to determine control of the deck. It is a standard 52 card deck plus 2 other cards mixed in. Those are Pot Limit Bonus Pick cards, and those can prove very valuable to one of you at the end of today's match. Right now, here's our first toss up puzzle for today... And we're looking for a word starting with "P" that links... PUMPKIN and WORK Immanuel you are in first this time. You have until 1pm EST on Monday, February 13th to post your answer.

Patch?

|
Post by billmcdee on Feb 11, 2023 19:40:49 GMT -5
Phrasing it in the form of a question, ay? Patch is right! (applause) Pumpkin patch, and then there's patchwork such as a patchwork quilt. If that was a guess on your part Immanuel, it was a mighty fine guess! $25 for you and control of the deck. Witney, please turn up the first card for this first hand of game number one if you please... It is a five. Immanuel, you can keep that card for your own hand, or pass it to Kevin, or place it in the center spot and make that the common card that you and Kevin would both share. Where do you want it to go Immanuel?
|
|
|
Post by babytims on Feb 11, 2023 19:58:13 GMT -5
That was a lucky guess!
I'll keep the 5 for myself please

Witney will give you the 5 and reveal the next card now... Oh boy! A 2. Immanuel, will that deuce be going to the common card space or over to Kevin?

Yipes. I'll give it to Kevin
|
|
|
Post by billmcdee on Feb 11, 2023 20:19:47 GMT -5
Yes that was a tough one to have to give away... And Witney will now place the common card in the center... A 9. So Immanuel, you will take this first hand if the next card is a 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9. Kevin's split is wider, a 2 through a 9 will win for him. But first we must determine control of that next card, and we have a brand new way of doing it... This is our HIGH CARD toss up board. Immanuel, since you won that first puzzle, you now get to play this board first, and you also get the right of first refusal. Allow me to explain. Hidden behind these 13 squares are the cards 2 through Ace. Each one is there only once. Immanuel, you will select a box by indicating either Top, Center or Bottom, followed by the suit (e.g. Center, Heart). You can also select the Joker if you wish, but nothing significant about that, it's just another box from which to choose. Should the card you draw be a lower card, you have the right to refuse it and give it to Kevin, and then select the next box, and that card you MUST keep. Should the card you draw be a higher card, you will have the right to keep it, or pass it. Obviously if the first card you draw is either the Ace or the 2, you will instantly win this toss up and control of the Split Decision deck. Immanuel, select a card and let's see what you get. The high card holder will win control of the deck.

In honor of upcoming Valentine's Day perhaps? Got yourself a 4. Do you want to hold onto that or give that to Kevin and select another box?

|
|
Post by babytims on Feb 12, 2023 12:07:00 GMT -5
I’ll keep the 4!
|
|
|
Post by billmcdee on Feb 12, 2023 12:23:55 GMT -5
As this is a new feature to our game I just want to make sure you understand.
If you keep the 4, Kevin will get to pick a box, and if the card he picks is higher than a 4, he will win control over the Split Decision deck.
If you keep the 4, only two cards on the board are lower while 10 are higher. High Card draw wins control of the deck.
If you still wish to keep the 4 you may, but I just wanted to be clear.
If you pass the 4 to Kevin, you will get to select another box to try to beat that 4.

Kevin is the challenger so the 4 is his and represented by blue. Now Immanuel, select another box for yourself. And if you pick a 2 or a 3 I'm going to feel just awful!

This is for control over the Split Decision deck... Immanuel has got an 8, and that means you keep control of the deck Immanuel! Time once again for yet another decision Immanuel. Do you wish to keep the next card and hope that it is between an 5 and a 9, or do you want to pass it to Kevin with the hope of busting him?
