All right, let's begin. All deadlines are 48 hours and away we go. (1987 theme) Rich: And now, a game of high stakes. Where every decision is a gamble and every move could be your last. High Rollers! And here's the man with all the action, Mark Liotta! (I come out to a tremendous applause from the audience) Me: Thank you! Thank you, Rich. And thank you too, audience. (Theme cuts out) Wow, what a nice audience we have to wrap up the week here on High Rollers. If you want excitement, then stay glued to your television set because we've got plenty of that over the course of today's show. Rich, introduce us to our players would you please? Rich: Certainly. Our returning champion is a caregiver from Alabama, please welcome back James Greek. James' one day total stands at $20,798. And opposing James today is Michael Clifford! Me: So Michael, how have things been going for you since your previous visit to our show?

Even though I still don't have a job, things have been going fine. I'm also thankful that I don't have to deal with snow anymore.

Same here. All the snow back in Toronto is fully melted, which means no more shovelling for me. All right, let's get to our match. You guys know, of course, that whoever wins two out of three goes on to play the Big Numbers for a chance to win $25,000. You can also win some nice prizes along the way. Rich, what is one of the prizes that's available today? Rich: In column number one, a trip to Charleston, South Carolina. You'll fly round trip coach from Los Angeles to Charleston for a six night stay at the Belmond Charleston Place. Total retail value of this trip is $7,092. Me: And what do we have for column two? Rich: In column number two, a Sea-Doo water craft. The Spark 2UP comes with Rotax 900HO ace engine, intelligent brake and reverse, conversion package and trailer. Retail value: $7,998 Me: And for column three? Rich: In column three, a home bar. Includes two stools, storage cabinet, cocktail shaker and 4 martini glasses. Retail value: $1,399. This makes the entire board worth $16,489. Me: All right, now that we know which columns the prizes have been assigned to, let's load in the numbers.
2 3 5 6 9 8 1 7 4
Column one is our hot column for the first game today. Knock out all three numbers there and you could be on your way to Charleston. Here's our first question of today's match. What 1994 John Hughes film centers on a wealthy baby's kidnapping by three incompetent villains?

Right. I just saw that film today on YouTube and it's pretty good. All numbers are safe, James, so roll away.

Six comes off the board.

And let's go to our next question. In what year was the Hubble Telescope launched during a Space Shuttle Discovery mission?

That's the right year. All numbers are still good, James, so roll away.

9 and 3!

Let's get the 9 and 3 off the board.
2 X 5 X X 8 1 7 4
And here's a marker for rolling that double. (I hand James a marker) Any time you roll a number that can't be cleared from the board, just turn that marker in and you'll get another roll. Here's another question for the two of you. What popular basketball video game was first released to arcades in 1993?

The four!

Take that four off.
2 X 5 X X 8 1 7 X
And another marker for you, James. (I hand James an insurance marker) That gives you two of those things now. They could come in handy later. Right now, though, we have another jump in to deal with and here it comes. What 1996 film stars NBA legend Michael Jordan along side the Looney Toons characters?

That's the film. Now James, the only bad roll is a 4 so the odds are most certainly in your favor here. Roll or pass?

the 5 and the 1

Let's take the 5 and 1 off the board.
2 X X X X 8 X 7 X
One number apiece now in each of the three columns as we go to our next question. What kind of dog is over 30 inches tall, making it one of the larger common breeds of dog?

Mastiff?

Post by GameShowNetwork on Apr 23, 2015 22:23:33 GMT -5
Not a bad guess, but we were looking for a breed that is more than 30 inches tall and that breed is the Komondor dog. The mastiff is exactly 30 inches. Michael, you have a choice to make here. The good numbers are 2,7,8,9 and 10. Roll the dice or pass them to James?

I'm worried about those 2 insurance markers that James has, so I'm going to roll.
