Greetings, all. On this date, this host had plans to start a new episode of The $40,000 Chain Reaction -- with new episodes of On A Roll, Lucky Numbers, and the new Three on a Match to follow.
Then a grinch in the form of COVID-19 got in the way. Two of my relatives are recovering after contracting the coronavirus late last week. They continue to take medication as prescribed. Until they fully recover, it's best to wait to (a) celebrate a belated Christmas with them and (b) get back to fun and games beyond MG-HSH here. So thanks for your continued patience.
During my absence, I did invent a new audience game for On A Roll. It's actually based upon something we did in the Crag/Hot Dice dice. Who wants to try -- Goose Eggs? We'll play at least two games.

Okay, Immanuel, that's what a perfect total of Goose Eggs looks like. Certainly hope you roll four different numbers to collect that $10,000 bonus. Let's start off fresh. (FF reveal sfx) And let's have you start rollin'. (Roll code from 1 to 97, please, Immanuel. You'll see the result of that roll plus the next four rolls provided from a list from randomizer.org.)

(audience cheers as Immanuel rolls "Child's Play" cube) And you're starting off with a 1 for one thin dollar! (ding) Try not to spend it all in one place. (scattered laughter from crowd) Now, you're going for ten dollars a point. Then you're playing for hundreds of dollars and finally thousands of dollars. As long as you don't repeat numbers while you're on a roll and you'll win that $10,000 bonus. So -- Immanuel -- you're still on a roll. (audience cheers as Immanuel rolls "Child's Play" cube) And there's a 4 for $40 more. (ding) $41 total. And you're still in the running for the $10,000 bonus. (audience cheers as Immanuel rolls "Child's Play" cube) (more cheers) A five!!!! (ding) Immanuel, you are on the brink of ten grand. You'd love to roll a 6. A roll of a 3 or 2 will do. You just don't want to repeat a 5, 4, or 1. How are you feeling right now?

Think 2, 3, or, best yet, a 6, for $10,000. (audience cheers as Immanuel rolls "Child's Play" cube) You did it!!!! (dings; SCSD win theme plays; audience cheers) (ding) Immanuel, that's about a sweet a game as you can play. Now even though you got the 1 early on, we will honor the $10,000 bonus. (ding) And those ones won't turn into goose eggs. (scattered laughter from crowd) You've won $16,541! (audience cheers) *And* if you're feeling lucky, you'll win more at the Grand Game. Let's bring this in and explain. (FF reveal sfx)Now we've got five new eggs. One of these eggs will award $1000, that's the "grand". Two other eggs will *double* your money, giving you more than $33,000! (scattered cheers) The remaining two eggs are spoilers. They're literally rotten eggs. Those will take away all your money. So, you may stop and keep your money -- or risk it all and play the grand game. What's your pleasure? (audience shouts suggestions)

Had a hunch you would. (audience cheers) But you know us, Immanuel. We're Bill Whitaker types of folks -- (scattered laughter from crowd) -- who adhere to the belief your right to know overrides your right to exist. (more laughter from crowd) If you went for it, what letter would you have selected?

The A would have... (spoiler sfx) ...forfeited everything. (scattered cheers) Where were the good eggs? (FF reveal sfx) They were at G and N. D had the $100. Other rotten egg was R. Congratuations, Immanuel.
Who else wants to try?

Shederick, come on up! (FF reveal sfx) (audience cheers) Okay, main objective is to roll four different numbers. Succeed in that mission and you win a bonus of $10,000. Good luck. You -- are on a roll.
(Shederick, please respond with a roll code from 1-97, inclusive.)

(audience cheers as Shederick rolls the Pass The Buck cube) Starting with a 3. (ding) Three dollars on the board. Now you're rolling for ten dollars a point. Need to avoid a 3. (audience cheers as Shederick rolls the Pass The Buck cube) There's a 1. (ding) You're up to $13. Keep rollin' new numbers, Shederick. (audience cheers as Shederick rolls the Pass The Buck cube) (audience cheers) That's a new number! (ding) (scattered laughter from crowd) And -- Wally's obviously sending egg-cellent regards. Shederick, time to get serious, though. You're on the brink of a $10,000 bonus. All you have to do is roll any even number. Think you can do it?

(audience cheers) That's the spirit. Any even number will do would that it's the six, Shederick. Good luck. (audience cheers as Shederick rolls the Pass The Buck cube) (audience groans) (buzz) Another number 3. Sorry about that. Well, we will post the 3 up there. (ding) Temporarily you have $3513. But now... (spoiler sfx) ...those threes become goose eggs -- knocking you down to $510. (more groans) Fortunately, you still get to play the Grand Game. Wally, please set that up. (FF reveal sfx) Now, Shederick, one of those eggs hides $1000. Two other eggs will double your money -- meaning you'd have more than $1000 in total. The remaining two eggs are spoilers -- leaving you with nothing. You could take the $510 and run -- or you may gamble it all away on one of those lettered eggs. What's your pleasure? (audience shouts suggestions)

I just realized it's better to find $1000 than a doubler. That way you'd have a total of $1510. Either way, let's hope there's not a spoiler in G. (dings; SCSD win theme plays; audience cheers) It's a doubler for a total of $1020. Well that's also better than a spoiler. Where was the grand? (FF reveal sfx) Right next door at R.
Let's give this one more try with a spiced up Grand Game. Who's in?

Okay, Nels, let's see if you can take us for $16,000 or more. First, let's roll four different numbers. Succeed in that feat and you'll win a $10,000 bonus. (Nels, roll code, please, from 1-97.)

(audience cheers as Nels rolls the Cover Up cube) Starting with a 6. (ding) $16,000 and change are out of the question -- but $15,000 and change can be won. Keep on rolling. (audience cheers as Nels rolls the Cover Up cube) Following with a 1. (ding) You're up to $16, Nels. Third roll coming up for hundreds of dollars. (audience cheers as Nels rolls the Cover Up cube) (audience groans) (buzz) Darn -- another 1. Well, bad news... (ding) ...we've got repeat ones... (spoiler sfx) ...which now become goose eggs. Fortunately, if you roll a 1 again, since the 1's literally off the table, you'll win $1000. But any number lower than 6 will pay off thousands. Ready to win up to $5000?

Then give it a good roll. (audience cheers as Nels rolls the Cover Up cube) (loud groans from crowd) (buzz) How -- revolting!?!?! (ding) Well, you've got $6006 -- but now... (spoiler sfx) ...you don't. Well -- might as well play the Grand Game since there's nothing to lose. Wally, please set up the Grand Game. (FF reveal sfx) Now, we've spiced up the Grand Game a bit. There's still an egg worth $1000. Another egg *normally* would double your money -- but we've replaced it with another $1000. We still have two spoiler eggs -- which are worthless. The remaining egg is a Grand Roll egg. And, Nels, I sure hope you get that Grand Roll egg. Because if you do, you get to roll... (Doug pulls cube from under table; shows it to camera) ...this cube. On this cube, we've take the numbers 1 through 6 and added the number 4 to each cube. So this number 10 would've been a 6 under normal circumstances, ya see? That makes the lowest number on the cube... (Doug flips cube around) ...a 5. If you get the Grand Roll, you'll roll this cube. And the number you roll will be multiplied by $1000. (scattered cheers) That means you'll win at least $5000 with the Grand Roll -- but we hope you win $10,000. First, you've got to find the Grand Roll egg. Which letter has that egg?

Wally, a grand or the Grand Roll egg in G? (dings; audience cheers) Grand Roll! Sweet. First, let's reveal the rest of the board, please, Wally. (FF reveal sfx) A and N each had $1000. The rest had the spoilers. Okay, Nels, for finding the Grand Roll egg... ...this cube is yours for the next little while. For a brief shining moment, you had $6000 and change. With one roll, you'll likely recoup most of that money. Whatever number you roll with the cube, we multiply by $1000. We'd love to see a 10 for $10,000. One more time, Nels, in Goose Eggs, you -- are on a roll. (audience cheers) (Nels, please respond with a new roll code from 1-100.)
